Chapter 124 The Thief Must Be Found

Chapter 124 The Thief Must Be Found
She did put it in her sleeve bags, but she couldn't find it now, which made Su Jiuyue anxious like a cat on hot bricks.
Wu Zongyuan frowned, "Please search carefully."
There's nothing but a pouch in her sleeves which meant she did lost the jade pendant.
"What should I do?" Su Jiuyue was really anxious. She's unable to appreciate jades. But even as an outlier, she knew it's a brilliant jade at both aspects of material and carved skills.
She just lost it. How could she afford to compensate?
She carefully recalled. Suddenly she thought that when they were about to leave the city gate, someone bump intoed into her and almost knocked her down.
That person who bump intoed into her apologized to her. And she thought she's fine and just let him go.
After rethinking of this, she thought the guy's behavior was rather strange. Why should he bump into her on such a broad road?
"It must be that person! That person stole the pendant!" Su Jiuyue gritted her teeth and said.
Xia Lixing was reminded of it in an instant. He was anxious to see Wu Zongyuan and he didn't reflect on it.
After seeing Su Jiuyue's sadness, Wu Zongyuan waved his hand, "I'm very appreciated that you help me find him, sister. It's just a pendant and doesn't cost a lot of money. It's not a big deal to lost it."
These words were only used to comfort her. In fact, Wu Zongyuan used it as a token, how could it be an ordinary item? It's his first birthday gift from his father at his one-year-old birthday which was a brilliant Black Jadeite.
It looked black, but when put under light, it was thick green.
On the top was a four-clawed majestic python, and his name was engraved on the reverse of it.
Su Jiuyue felt guilty on her way back. How could she let someone else steal such an invaluable item?
When she went back, Liu Cuihua was washing clothes in the yard. Liu Cuihua called her and saw her sullen face.
She felt worried about her after seeing her unhappy expression. After all, she went out alone.
She stood up and wiped her hands on her apron, "Jiu, what's wrong? Why do you come back with such an expression? You were happy when you went out."
Su Jiuyue was still in her youth. She could control herself when she's alone, but she couldn't stop crying when someone accompanied her.
"Mum, I lost Zongyuan's pendant...Woo..." Her tears dropped down fiercely and she felt extremely guilty.
Liu Cuihua was stunned too. She saw the pendant yesterday which looked brilliant and expensive.
"What's up? Did you go back to search for it? Did Zongyuan blame on you?" She asked.
Su Jiuyue shook her head, "No, he didn't. The pendant was probably stolen by someone and I had nothing to compensate him."
Su Jiuyue was aggrieved. She intended to help him out of good intentions. But she didn't expected she would lost such an important token.
Liu Cuihua wiped her tears after seeing her cry again, "Don't cry, mum is here! Don't worry. I will support it even if the sky falls down. If he wants us to compensate, we'll do!"
Seeing her crying, Wu Xiyuan was overwhelmed aside. He agreed after hearing his mother's words, "That's wrong. If the sky falls down, Xiyuan will support it. Xiyuan is tall."
Su Jiuyue felt warm in her heart and thought there's difference among different people.

When she was a child, she accidentally broke a glass when she played with friends. Her mother was afraid of having to pay for it and didn't stop hitting her in front of the public until the owner stopped her and said let it pass.
From then on, she never visited a friend's house and never touched others' items.
This time she thought her mother-in-law would definitely rebuke her. She didn't expected they would comfort her.
Wu Xiyuan hugged her, "Xiyuan sometimes loses thing as well. You may find it if you come back and search for it."
"I'm too stupid and didn't put my thing in a proper place. The person bump intoed into me and I didn't sense I lost the thing." She was angrier when she thought of it again.
Wu Xiyuan shook his head like a rattle, "You're not stupid! It's the thief's fault, not yours."
Su Jiuyue was silent, but she made up her mind that she must go to the town tomorrow to find the person. She still remembered that person's appearance! If she couldn't find him, she'd go to the police!
Seeing that she didn't speak, Wu Xiyuan let go of her, faced her, stretched out his right index finger and nodded his head.
"Look at me. I lost my mind. Am I stupider?"
Su Jiuyue didn't like he describe himself like this. In her heart, he's the cleverest person in the world. No one could compare with him. Even if he lost some of his memory now, he was still stronger than others in study competence and observation.
"Don't say that! You're not stupid! I'm not happy to hear that." Su pretended to be angry by putting on a long face.
But Wu Xiyuan didn't apologize as usual. He put on a long face like Su Jiuyue did and said, "But I'm also unhappy to hear you say you're stupid."
Su Jiuyue didn't speak. Liu Cuihua hurried up to persuade them, "Okay, forget it! You're both clever. Never say you're stupid again."
"Tomorrow I'll accompany Jiu to find the thief. I believe there are still laws in broad daylight."
Although the family comforted her, Su Jiuyue still felt anxious and didn't sleep well for the whole night.
There's still an oil lamp flaring in the cabin of the mountain.
Da Cheng was still busy in the cave and there were only Wu Zongyuan and Xia Lixing in the house.
"General Xia, why are you here?"
"The emperor demanded me to protect Huang Husheng to go back to the capital." Xia Lixing didn't dare to sit down. He just stood there with his both hands hanging on his sides.
Furthermore, there were also no spare seats for him to sit down.
"Huang Husheng? He has been serving me these days. So he suddenly returned to his hometown to visit relatives for some reason?" Although Wu Zongyuan was smart, he was still young and didn't know much of the information.
"Exactly, as you know, the emperor suffered from a rare disease. And all the imperial doctors in the imperial hospital were helpless. Except for Huang Husheng, who heard his father talk about this disease in his early years. His father recorded all the incurable diseases he had experienced in his life and left it in his house in Ox Head Town. This time Huang Husheng came back to check medical records."
Xia Lixing's boss was Feng Zhengyang, Duke Dingguo, and Wu Zongyuan was Feng Zhengyang's grandson.
Because of this, he dared not have any deception.
"So it is." A light breaks in upon Wu Zongyuan. Huang Husheng had no relatives here, even his father was buried in the suburbs of Capital. He had no relatives to visit. But it made sense if he's looking for something.
