MARU'S POV
From: Jana
Hi Andrew! Can we talk?
I frowned upon seeing Jana's text message.
To: Jana
Why?
In a few minutes, I already got a reply from her.
From: Jana
I will need to tell you something important. You're the only person that I can count on.
I was a bit confused, but I still agree with her.
To: Jana
Okay.
After that, I immediately call Mara to inform her about Jana's text message.
"Yes, hon, do you need anything?" Mara asked me.
"Ahh, hon, Jana texted me," I told her.
"And?"
I heaved a heavy sigh.
"She wants to talk to me. It seems so important that's why I said yes. Will that be okay with you?" I asked nervously.
"You already said yes to her. Is there anything that I can do about it?"
I close my eyes as I heard her reaction. I'm at fault this time. I should have asked her first before I agreed to Jana's request.
"I'm sorry, hon. It seems so important that's why I agreed with her. You know that I'm the only one close to her." I tried to make her understand.
"I said fine! If you don't have anything to say, I will drop this call because I have so many things to do. Bye!"
I wasn't able to answer because Mara had already dropped the call.
I massage my temple. Wrong move Maru. I need to make up with her later.
After that call, I continued with my work. I was engrossed with work that I overlooked the time. If my secretary hadn't called to say that Jana was already outside my office, I wouldn't have noticed that it was time for lunch.
I arranged some papers and started to go out of my office. I saw Jana, and she was smiling at me. So I guess it's good news.
Jana was the one who chose the place. As per her, our lunch will be her treat because she will tell me good news.
We were eating when suddenly Jana started to giggle.
"Andrew, finally! We are official!" She happily shared the news.
My forehead creased. "With whom?"
I never heard that someone is courting her. So I'm clueless about who she is referring to.
I saw her roll her eyes. "Who else? I'm only in love with one guy in my entire life."
My eyes widen when I realize who she is referring to. "You and Alex?!"
I couldn't believe it.
She nodded happily. I can see happiness in her eyes, that finally, she will be with the one she loved. I should be happy for her, but I can't because I can sense that something is wrong.
She never told me or even mention that she is seeing him. This thing was so sudden. Oh well, that is their relationship. And I can see that Jana is happy with him. I will give my full support in their relationship.
I hope that Alex is not leading her on. I hope that he won't hurt her. Even if he is Mara's best friend, I will make him pay if ever she hurt Jana.
I treated Jana as a sister that I never had. That's why I am protective of her.
After our lunch, I now focus on how I will make up with my wife. I don't want to sleep in the guest room. Especially now that baby Tanya's growing fast.
In a few months, it will be her first birthday. If I were to be asked, I want to have our next child. But because of our family business, we can't do that yet.
I decided to follow my secretary's suggestion. That's why I checked the site called "harana.ph" I followed the instruction and then took their service.
My wife's office hours will soon be over, so I immediately went to her office. I bring along the guy that I hire to serenade my wife.
I can sing, but I wanted to try their service. When I saw her secretary, I immediately shared with her my surprise plan for her boss.
Slowly she opens the office door.

I just let them go in first and stay outside Mara's office while peeking inside to see her reaction.

We just danced until the song ended.
"Thank you, hon!" My wife said sweetly.
"Anything for you, wife!" I told her, then I tighten my hug.
I told the staff of harana.ph to leave the office and Laila, Mara's secretary.
I heard the door close and lock, so I turned and faced my wife and gave her a sweet kiss.
"I love you, wife!" I whispered, and I hug her again.
"What's with the surprise, hon?"
"Peace offering because we did not have lunch together," I said almost in a whisper.
I saw her face change. She got out of my embrace.
"How's your lunch then?" She asked in a serious tone.
"It was okay. Jana just told me that she and Alex are now a couple." I said carefully.
I stared at her to see how her face would react. But surprisingly, I see no reaction from her.
"Don't you have anything to say?" I can't help but ask.
"What do you want me to say then?" She said with a poker face.
"Aren't you wondering?"
"About?"
"That they suddenly become official!" I hissed.
I saw her eyebrow raised. "And your affected?"
"What are you saying? I'm just worried about Jana."
"What are you worrying about?" She asked in her still serious voice.
"Because the last time I checked, that guy is madly in love with you. Then now? I didn't even know that they are talking or seeing each other."
"And?" Mara sounds so bored with my issue.
"Aren't you wondering?"
"Can you get straight to the point! Just stop beating around the bush! And tell me what your problem is?" She is getting irritated.
"That your friend might just hurt Jana! That he is taking advantage of Jana's feelings about him!"
"How can you say that to my friend?!" Mara growled.
"Can't you understand me?" I said, a bit frustrated because she can't get my point.
"I really can't! I can not understand why you are so angry with my friend! And even more, I can not understand why you are so affected! Tell me, Maru do you have any feelings for Jana?!" She seriously asked me.
I gasped. "What are you saying, Mara?"
"Because you're acting like you seem to like Jana." She accused me.
I tried to take her hands, but she just avoided it.
"No, hon. I love you, okay? It's just that I treated her as a sister. That's why I am protective of her. I know, Jana. She's too weak when it comes to Alex."
She smirked. "Really? Do you really know her?"
"What do you mean?"
She just shrugged.
I suddenly got pissed with her reaction. "What kind of slandering does that Alex tell you about Jana?!"
"Wow! Do you automatically think it's Alex? Just wow, Maru!"
I wasn't able to answer.
"Why are you always against Alex? You answer me! What did he do to you that you keep on slandering him?!"
My eyes widened when I saw my wife's tears well up.
"Hon..."
"Why is it okay for Jana to come to you. But why when it's Alex, it becomes not okay?!"
"Why you don't allow me to be close with Alex, but you are allowed to be close with Jana?!"
"Why are you allowed to get jealous of Alex even if I already told you a hundred times that we are just friends?! Why can't I get jealous of her?!"
"Did you know that even if it pains me, I allow you to do what you want?! You want me to be friends with Jana, you want me to be close to her, and even her family, you want me to be close with them even if I don't want to!!!"
"Maru, why are you so unfair to Alex?"
"ALEX IS MY FRIEND MARU! If you tell me you know your so-called friend Jana, then I am telling you right now that I know Alex more than you'll ever know! That's why I am telling you right now that Alex is not doing anything wrong!!!"
I wasn't able to answer her because she suddenly took her bag and left me in her office.
