Three days after...
Erin rang Olivia's doorbell since she wanted to meet her friend; someone she didn't recognize opened the gate for her right away, so she suppressed her grin and spoke of the elderly lady. She says, "I'm looking for Olivia." The old woman shook her head when she spoke up. "Your friend no longer lives here; she sold the house to us," she added, leaving her stunned. She shifted her gaze to her previous parents' house, where she had gone to check on her family, and wondered why Olivia hadn't informed her.
She turned to look at her former parents' mansion, where she had gone to check on her family. Percy and Christina were contentedly squatting on the sofa when she arrived, and their eyes widened when they noticed her; she was taken aback by their reaction.
"Erin, you've returned..." With a smile on her face, Percy rose up and kissed her on the cheek.
"Hey there, Percy What's new with you?" She whispered to Percy as she placed her handbag on the table and took her eyeglass from her eyes.
She assumed they were going to fight again when she saw her cousin Christina, who she didn't often get along with, but she was wrong; Christina quickly rushed up to her and hugged her, saying "thank you for saving us, I know we haven't been good to you... I feel so horrible about it."
Erin was so taken aback by what they were telling her that she was about to say something but suddenly her Aunt Isabel arrived, and her Aunt Isabel sobbed when she saw Erin. Her lips twisted in an awkward posture as she realized she had no idea what was going on because this family had been so wonderful to her.
"We're glad to see you today, Erin; you know we're worried about you, and we appreciate the cheque you gave. We are extremely grateful for that since we know you did not abandon us." Nathan immediately registered in her consciousness as his Auntie remarked happily, "Did Nathan do all this for me? But why is that?" she whispered to herself then glanced at her Auntie who was smiling at her widely. "How about we have a fantastic meal this evening?"
"I'm good with it, aunt,"
"Then it is a yes?" her aunt said, clutching her hand.
"But I have something essential to do, so maybe the other day. Is it all right?" she replied adenoid ally and her Auntie gave her a thumbs up.
"Where are you staying now? Do you have any intentions to accompany us here?" Percy said.
Christina stated, pointing to all the empty rooms with her long pointed finger, "There's plenty of space for you."
She shrugged because she has no intention of returning to the mansion; she will only be tormented by the memories left by her parents, and what she needs right now is a fresh start.
She rubbed her hands together and rubbed her chin, pondering where she would like to live now; perhaps she would buy another condo unit today. "I live right there... a long way away. To begin a new chapter in one's life. I adore this home, but I will definitely miss my parents. I'm staying here..." she said.
When she mentioned her parents, her face became sorrowful, and she instantly hugged her aunt and cousins. "Don't worry," her aunt continued, "no matter where they are now, they are proud of you no matter what you achieve in life."
"Yes, it is correct. I'm sure they're content where they are in paradise. No more pain, no more sadness there..."Christina sighed as she replied.
"So don't be a sad cousin," Percy replied, "just come visit us here when you're unhappy."
In their hug, he grinned and seemed relieved "I must leave... Guys, I'll see you soon. I'll return the following time. Also, sincerely apologize for what I did to you previously, as well as my poor attitude toward you."
"I get it, Erin," Christina answered with a smile.
When she left the mansion, she felt relieved and happy since it was easy to believe that the individuals she didn't get along with before could now properly talk with her; it's true what they say about people changing when they realize their worth.
She was ready to get into her car when she was startled to see Luke in front of her, as if she was about to be attacked, so she took a step back and looked at him while holding her breath. Luke was dressed simply, but she couldn't deny how attractive this man was; he grinned at her reaction and walked forward to greet her. Erin's heartbeat quickly returned to normal, and she glared fiercely at Luke.
"Are you trying to give me a heart attack?" she asked Luke while holding her breath.
He wiped his brow and his eyes glowed when he saw her today; he smiled again, pondering what to say to her because he hadn't seen her in weeks, the woman who had stolen his heart for years.
"Where have you been? I haven't seen you for weeks or in a month I guess," he said and leaned his hand on Erin's car.
"I was just having issues, you know, I'm only human. I guess I have more difficulties than you, therefore I'll have to leave."
"Erin, wait…"
"Do you mind if I invite you out for coffee? If it's not too much trouble."
Erin was taken aback when she turned to Luke as she was ready to open her car door, his face persuading her to say yes, so she sighed and closed her eyes before finally saying " yes ". As she agreed, the excitement on Luke's face was priceless, and it made her smile.
