Erin was delighted to see her aunt Isabel when she and Nathan went down to see who their guest was. "Auntie... you're here..." she said as she greeted her with a warm hug, then she noticed the woman next to her Aunt who bore a striking resemblance to her and She looked at the woman again and noticed that she was happy to see her and that her eyes were glowing, even though she was about to break down in tears. Erin got confused and looked at Nathan who was looking at her intently.
"Uhm...Erin, this is Lucille…" Isabel said calmly.
Erin's thoughts were jumbled because she remembered what her parents used to argue about, and she also remembered hearing the name, Lucille. Back then, she suspected it was her father's mistress.
"Honey, I'll have to go outside... just call me if you need anything," Nathan said as he stepped outside to give them some privacy.
"W-what?" she stuttered looking at the woman in front of her.
"If you don't mind, I'd like to explain everything..." Lucille said with a sad expression on her face. She hugged herself as she continued to examine Lucille from head to toe, biting her lower lip and feeling something she couldn't explain. She was breathing heavily and wondering why this woman was her. Who is she? Her forehead creased, and just as she was about to speak, Lucille addressed her as her daughter.
"Who are you?" she asks, her voice shrill and obnoxious. She backs away, not letting this woman touch her.
Lucille's face is filled with worry because she doesn't know what to say or how to explain it to her daughter Erin. Isabel looks at her with concern because she recognizes her niece, who is bold and has a strong personality that Lucille cannot handle.
"Just tell her the truth...please, right now!" Isabel said and her voice was shaking.
"Aunt Isabel, what do you mean? Who is this lady? So you're my father's mistress?" Erin asked in a high-pitched tone that everyone in the mansion could hear.
"Erin, it is not true...the truth is that I am your biological mother... And I missed you so much, my daughter; I didn't abandon you; I was forced to give you to your father because things were so complicated at the time, and I couldn't stop thinking about you at all hours of the day or night...I miss you so much. I wasn't free; I was a prisoner in my own husband's hands..."
Lucille was already shaking as she explained, and Erin couldn't stop herself from sobbing in front of her; she felt heartbroken and enraged.
Erin couldn't put into words how she felt when she heard a woman address her daughter.
She appeared terrified and anxious since she didn't understand what was going on; she also noticed her aunt Isabel's eyes lowering, and she could tell she was upset. Anger pulsed through her veins, Why did she only now introduce herself as her mother after all these years? She had a lot of questions in her head, but her anger won out. She couldn't let her be her mother because her late mother loved and cared for her more.
"I'm not going to believe you, you are lying…" Erin said and paused looking at her aunt Isabel and back her gaze to Lucille who shed tears.
"I'm sorry, Erin...I'm sorry, please forgive me, my daughter…"
"Don't call me your daughter, I'm not your daughter!" she growled as her hands went frigid and her voice grew shrill.
When Nathan heard Erin didn't sound well, he went inside to make sure everything was okay, but it wasn't.
Nathan was equally bewildered by what was going on, and when he looked at the woman who presented herself as Erin's real mother, he noticed that the two had a striking resemblance. Erin vanished next to him and exited the mansion before he could react.
"Erin..." he said as he moved, but Isabel stopped him and said, "Just give her time..."
"Erin, please...wait...you must hear my explanation," Lucille stated that she would pursue Erin, but Erin is faster and has already gotten into her car, ready to speed away.
"You're not my mother," she said as she left the house.
Lucille was scared to death that she would be rejected and despised by her own daughter, so she burst into tears and Isabel hugged her, saying, "we need to go... now you know how it feels to be neglected, come on let's go."
Nathan was just looking at them silently, but his ideas and concerns were still on Erin and where it was going.
"Please tell my daughter to talk to me if she returns... are you her husband?"
"Don't worry...I'll tell her," he sighed.
Nathan's phone abruptly rang, and he quickly answered it before exiting the room, leaving the two women in the living room.
Alas had contacted him, and it appeared that he had significant news to share. Weeks have passed, and they are still looking for the armed men who attempted to murder the two of them and Erin.
Nathan wants to know who planned this assassination attempt and who is behind it. "Hey, there, bro... I have a lead, although it's a little blurry at the moment, we can use it as a piece of evidence. Right now, I'll text you the address, and you can come to meet me there." Alas informed him and he approved that. "Okay... I'll meet you there."
