Chapter 66 It was not him

Erin rested her chin in her palm, thinking about what would happen to her and her baby; she had just found out about it and that's why she's so upset at Nathan; she has a problem with what to say to Nathan soon, but she'll take care of her temper here and she doesn't want to talk to him any further. She sighed and smiled, wishing she could call her mother and tell her that she was OK and in a good place, but she couldn't because she would be home tomorrow. She simply requires some time to unwind and forget about her displeasure, as well as a lack of tension from others, as this will be detrimental to the child in her womb.
She is currently waiting for Luke, who is preparing pork barbeque for the two of them inside the house. She's sitting in a hammock on the shore of a lake, with a table and chairs in front of her. She closes her eyes and observes her surroundings while listening to the chirping of birds and insects. She thinks that It seemed to be wonderful to be here, far from the metropolis where she grew up.
She felt a soft object embracing her soft shoulders, and when she opened her eyes, it was Luke's jacket, and she looked at him with hazy eyes.
Luke asks her, "Do you love this place?" as he sets the food on the table.
She parted her lips again and gazed at the surroundings, a nice and green place with a beautiful lake on the side with the Antic house and she took a long breath and said,
"Who's crazy that doesn't adore this place? This place is beautiful! I believe you had a wonderful childhood..."
Luke sighed as he stretched his arm and gazed towards the lake. "Yes, I believe I had the nicest childhood, as did we all. It's wonderful to return to being a kid again when you don't have any problems and everything is just a game..."
"I think you're correct... the adult stage is challenging, isn't it? I couldn't wait to grow up when I was a kid, and now I feel like I want to go back to the early days, time travel is so rapid..."

Erin said something that made her chuckle since it was something she could connect to the lookup at Luke who was staring at her and he's looking away, avoiding having eye contact with her. He feels that his devil scheme will be postponed, Erin is such a good friend to him and He desired her a lot, he thinks maybe some other days or Months before his plans can be fully successful because for now, he's working to gain her trust and will take Erin away from Nathan.
"Do you want to eat now? The food is still hot…" Luke said and grab the pork barbeque to give it to Erin.
"This smell so good, thank you for being such a good friend… it is my first time to have a friend like you, a man friend...my father before don't let me be near with boys, he was so strict and protective…" Erin said as she chews the food.
"I used to come to your place while you were blind... You were usually singing outside the balcony or in the yard, and I've known you since you were a teenager. But because my father advise me and said that I was a young man and better not bother you so I didn't introduce myself to you. Because your father was being so harsh at me and I know that he's doing that to protect you and that's why I don't take a risk of being killed..." Every phrase Luke said was accompanied by a chuckle.
Erin was taken aback by Luke's words, so she looked up, blinked a couple of times, and their eyes locked in a common understanding.
She bit her lower lip and remembered what Luke said; as far as she knew, there was a man visiting her house, and she knew it was assisting her in not stumbling while walking, because there was always a hand guiding her, and no, she smells him and thinks he's a young man because he's using the perfume for men.
"S-so it was y-you? Oh my god! That's why I feel so comfortable with you because that person was you! I can't believe this..." Erin ponders, her voice quivering and her mouth agape. She can't believe it was Luke, but she wonders why he only told her this now and not before?
"Because you never see me and never recognize my voice...but now that you know, I'm glad you believe it was me..." he replied, and Erin smile at him.
"I'm so glad, I guess this is a perfect time..," Luke said this as he stood up from his chair and hugged Erin, sniffing her hair and smiling evilly. His overjoyed because his strategy was working. Erin had no idea that the man who was assisting her was not Luke because Luke had murdered him to take his place...
so he lied and it was not him.
