Chapter 48 Partners

She gazed at him with his gleaming eyes, and he stepped closer to her as if he could read her every desire. All she wanted was his arms around her, it was happening, and she didn't know what to say. She wrapped her arms around him awkwardly, knowing that if she didn't, he'd stop hugging her. As she wrapped her arms around him tightly, she dug her face into his chest as if to beg him to never let go.
As he embraces her, she can feel the life in him, the blood pumping through his veins, the warm breath coming from his lips, and his hand gently caressing her back, touching her long hair, and it soothes her.
"Erin...I...I love…" He muttered it while fiercely breathing and tightly closing his eyes, scared of spilling it out from his tongue. He believes that this is not the right time to express his unrequited affection for her.
"I love hugging you…" he whispered, his deep voice piercing her soul, his beady eyes at her.
She pulled go of Nathan's hug and smiled, her eyes telling him something else, her eyes confused and anxious, and she responded, "good night...thank you for making me feel better."
She was already standing in front of her room, and even before she went inside, she looked at Nathan again, and who was still staring at her from a long balcony in the dark, where she couldn't see his face staring at her keenly.
Erin awoke the next morning to the sound of her cat scratching the window because her cat had seen another male cat outside. "Do you want to go outside, kitty?" She murmured it in a dreamy tone, almost as if she couldn't open her eyes because she wanted to sleep even more.
There was also a startling knock on her door, and she covered her face with her pillow while exclaiming, "Why is everyone keeping waking me up!" she said, her voice irritated.
"Rise and shine sunshine!" she exclaimed as the door burst open and she heard her cat whine since the person who had entered her room had let it out. The voice is recognizable to her, and she closes her eyes tightly since she knows it's Nathan, who wakes her up by opening the curtains widely.
"Good morning!" He said and pulled her feet to touch the floor while she was still holding the pillow covering her face.
"Uhh…" she moaned when she stretched her arms. "What do you want?"
"Do you forget what day it is today?"
"What?"
"What what?" He imitates her and Erin rolled her eyes at him, stretching her slender legs on the bed that made Nathan drool for her sexy figure.
"What are you talking about?" Erin asked him then he shook his head and started to walk outside and take the door.
"You silly...your mother invited us for lunch...and it's already 12:30 pm do you wanna go?"
"Yes of course!"
Because she was confused and rattled and time was running out, she didn't hesitate to undress in front of Nathan, revealing her firm sexy breasts and her lovely butt, and immediately entered the bathroom to take a quick shower, she didn't realize that Nathan saw everything she did, Nathan was left speechless and unable to move, he lowers his head and thinks his manly bird goes bigger, he bites his lower lip and says "Damn it! Not now boy!"

Nathan began to walk in his own office continuously because he had always been on time and never been late in any meeting throughout his life, and this is what happened to him because he was waiting for a woman. He rubbed his temples and squeezed them tight, his head throbbing from the anticipation for this woman.
"Hey, I'm ready! Are you ready?" When Erin peeked into Nathan's office and walked over to him, he gazed at her from head to toe, and Erin didn't disappoint him, this lady in front of him looked stunning and hot at the same time, "you look gorgeous..." he muttered.
Erin's mouth fell open and she bit her lower lip as she asked, "What did you say?"
"Nothing, I said, let's go," Nathan replied calmly as he gently grasped her hand and led her outside, where three bodyguards and their driver awaited them patiently.
"Are you all right?" While Nathan asked her when they were already inside the luxurious limousine, she crossed her legs and sighed, "of course I'm Ok... it's just that I'm nervous, because today will be her first time as my mother, and I felt bad for her..."
"I'm sure she'll be delighted to see you today and share lunch with you. Erin, I'm right here okay, if you don't feel fine...just tell me."
"Thank you...for always being there for me."
"You know that we are partners, I mean if we are married on paper and we don't have an intimate relationship, then we are partners?"
She bit her bottom lip and raised her eyes to him, thinking to herself that she doesn't want to be his partner; she wants more. Partner is similar to best friends, but it may also refer to a relationship; yet, 'we are not a couple,' her mind was perplexed, and she simply nodded.
"Yeah...partners," she said and smiled forcefully at him.
Nathan fixed his gaze on him, frowning at his reaction. "What if we can just be honest to each other?"
"W-what?" she stammered, turning her gaze to his, as Nathan came in close to her, bringing her world to a halt.
"Uhm, what exactly did you say? say it again?"
He whispered to her ear, "do you want me too?" and she shivered and gasped.
"Nathan..." she began, but the limousine stopped before she could respond because they had already arrived at her Mother's house.
Erin chuckled to hide her discomfort, the bodyguard opened the car door for her, and Nathan just stood there, frowning, staring at her. Somebody grabbed her attention and kissed her cheeks as a warm greeting; she went back to Nathan, but he was already chatting to someone else, and Erin was thinking hard about what had just happened a while ago.
"Did I say something bad?" She asked herself and her mother approached and hugged her. "Oh, my daughter! You are finally here…"
"Hello…" she said and smiled.
"Where is your husband?"
"Over there…" she tells her mother.
"Looks like he's busy talking with your uncle Fred."
She turned around again and started to notice that her so-called husband was so attractive in the circle of gentlemen out there; when can he confess his feelings to her and say, "I love you?" she longs for it. She sighed and smiled as she greeted some people she didn't know in her mother's house. "This is going to be a long day..." she grumbled.
"Yes, my daughter!" her mother exclaimed, clutching her arm happily.
