"..So you mean you weren't actually abandoned but was kidnapped by your nanny who was supposed to look after you, when your parents came over to Country Y for an important function? And you had somehow ended up meeting your parents at the resort you stayed in and because you had looked so much alike to your mother, you guys had ended up doing a paternity test?", Nina felt overwhelmed by the sudden overload of information. She would have never dreamt that something so cliché, that it should only exist in novels and movies had happened to her friend!
"Yes, it's hard to believe, right? I also felt incredulous when my parents told me", Selena said in reply from the other end of the phone.
"If you hadn't been the one telling me this, I would never have believed it. Seriously, it's just unbelievable! But thankfully, fate was merciful and had finally brought you all back together!"
The phone line fell into a comfortable silence after Nina said this. But suddenly, Nina remembered a matter they had ignored.
She hurriedly asked Selena, "Lena, didn't your parents tell you that you were kidnapped because someone didn't want to see your family and the Stanley's join together in a marriage alliance? Then... do your parents still plan to go on with the alliance?"

Selena sat dumbfounded in the Preston's family home when she heard Nina's question and stared blankly ahead as her mind drifted to someone she shouldn't be thinking of.
'We already broke up, he no longer has anything to do with me'
She only came regained her senses when she heard Nina call her in a anxious tone while questioning.
"Do they really plan on going ahead with it? Are you going to do it if they really plan to? Marry someone you don't know?"
You have to admit that Nina and Ryan really knew Selena well and this statement was further confirmed when she heard what she said in reply.
"I don't know if the marriage alliance still exists but if it really does and my family wants me to go ahead with it, I would. After all , I am now currently single and already in my thirties. Furthermore, since I already planned to find a partner to marry, this would save me the energy of having to search for a compatible partner."
Nina's heart sank when she heard her saying something that would decide the next half of her life so indifferently. She was aware of just how much Selena loved Ryan and could surmise how devastated she had been to continue waiting year after year for him to propose only to find out that it was going no where.
She was also clear of the fact that maybe when she had first proposed the idea of breaking up with him, she might not have really meant it but instead, it had been to test Ryan's attitude and perhaps force him to finally take action but the result had been too disappointing and heartbreaking.
Nina opened her mouth but found herself speechless of words say.
'Tell her that Ryan might have encountered some hard to solve problems which is why he broke up with her, in order not to put her in danger? Or inform her that, Ryan was a member of the Anderson's family and was currently in a fight-to-death clash with his father?"
She really didn't dare to say anything of that sort to Selena, else, Ryan might skin her alive. 
You could imagine how surprised and shocked she had been when she had gone ask Justin how he and Ryan had met after she suspected his relations to an aristocratic family.
She had originally thought he wouldn't tell her her truth and had planned to use some special means to get him to say it but he had been surprisingly open about it and had straightforwardly told her that Ryan was an Anderson.
She could still remember how astonished she had been after all who would ever relate the head of a mafia gang to the honorable aristocratic family even though they shared the same last name. It just doesn't make sense!
But after telling her this, Justin had warned her not to say anything to Selena because Patriarch Anderson wouldn't dare offend the Walters', it was fine for her to know this but dangerous for Selena to do, since the more she knew, the more danger she would be in.
Ryan hadn't protected her all these years only for her to put herself in danger!
Sigh! These lovebirds just couldn't help but make one worry. Sh could only hope that Ryan would speed up whatever the hell he was doing and not let his wife marry another person.
Because that would be simply tragic!
When Selena heard her sigh, a bitter smile hung from her face as she didn't need a mind reader to know that whatever on her mind couldn't to extricated from her.
Anyways, they were already done talking so she said goodbye to her but before hanging up, she said something to Nina.
Watching the call ended notification on her phone and Selena's words before she hung up made a wry smile appear on Nina's face.
Selena had said, "Don't think too much. I already have what I had hoped for the most."
'But do you really have all that you have hoped for, Lena?"

Back at Blood Gang HQ.
Dan laid sprawled all over the ground of the training room in sweat soaked clothes, while panting heavily with no care for his image.
How could he care for his image or whatnot, when his whole body ached terribly all over at this moment.
Knowing his body must be littered with bruises, he couldn't help but curse to himself, 'This cheap brother of mine was really ruthless. He didn't hold back his punches at all!'
Just because he found out that his woman got a freebie fiancé after reuniting with her parents, he got irritated and since he couldn't take it out on his woman or her family, he turned to him who was an easy target to take it out on!
But who made him unable to win against him in a fight!
He turned his head while lying down and glared sideways with resentment at Ryan who lay next to him but what was even more infuriating was that the subject of his hateful glare ignored him!
Of course, he would be ignored since Ryan just happened to have his eyes closed... And Ryan who had felt his glare was too lazy to pay attention to him.
Understanding that he was deliberately being ignored since he was quite sure that Ryan was not asleep, he could only take back his gaze reluctantly and shut his eyes too.
But moments later, his eyes suddenly shot open and he turned to lie on his side to face Ryan, pulling his aching body in the process which made him wince out in pain.
Listening to his sound of pain, Ryan opened his eyes lazily and glanced with ridicule at the face which was almost touching with his own and spat out.
"Sissy!"
Dan choked in anger when he heard his words, which made him to begin coughing violently. He hurriedly sat up to catch his breath and finally felt better after a while. But due to the violent cough, his eyes had turned red at some point which made him look like a pitiful and delicate beauty, especially when he had very feminine features.
Anyone else would have comforted him at seeing him looking so pitiful but was Ryan included in those people, of course... Not!
Instead of feeling tenderness, he felt even more disdainful of him as he tsked while thinking internally to himself, "Really, I should get him to train more and maybe someday, he might not look this feminine and delicate."
If Dan was privy to his thoughts, he would have definitely felt wronged! How was he like a woman? He had abs and muscles that many women drooled after! His figure was so impeccable that even fellow men who had seen it were envious!
And although he did looked a little, really, it was just a little feminine, his got his looks from his parents. Who made that mother of his, a drop-dead gorgeous beauty? Or How else could she have aroused the interest of that b*stard father of his?
