Chapter 222 Come Home With Me

Chapter 222 Come Home With Me

When Ebony came out of the kitchen, she saw Lloyd standing up and putting on his coat with one hand.

Ebony walked over to him. Then she helped him get dressed.

Lloyd glanced at Ebony calmly and remained silent.

After getting dressed, Ebony asked with a smile on her face, "Lloyd, aren't you dizzy now? You don't have a headache anymore? You don't want to throw up anymore?"

Lloyd did not make a sound. Then, he looked down and buttoned his shirt. When he finished buttoning, he looked up and said, "Take some clothes and supplies. Come with me."

Ebony froze.

She asked in confusion, "Where to?"

Lloyd said, "My home."

Ebony burst out laughing and said, "What are you talking about?"

At that moment, Ebony's cell phone suddenly rang.

She looked down and saw that the caller ID read "Uncle Beau".

Ebony blinked as she picked up the phone. "Hello, Uncle Beau..."

On the other side of the phone, Beau's serious and worried voice rang out. "Ebs, Llo said you were targeted and kidnapped by Bloody Group! Is that true? Why didn't you tell me earlier? Don't say anything. Your aunt has already cleaned up the room. You and Llo should come home together now. Nowhere is as safe as home. If anything happens to you, how can I explain it to your father!"

Ebony felt speechless.

Ebony was stunned. Then, she looked at Lloyd, whose face was calm, in dismay.

She didn't expect Lloyd to report to his father at all!

Ebony panicked. She quickly explained, "Uncle Beau, I-I'm fine..."

"No matter what, just listen to me. You're coming back now!"

Ebony was embarrassed and said, "I-I have to work..."

"You can work. If you want to go to the company, let Lloyd drive you there! And I have a driver and a bodyguard at home! Anyway, you're coming home now. Do you hear me?"

After saying that, Beau obviously did not want to listen to Ebony's excuses and hung up the phone.

Seeing that he hung up the phone, Ebony froze.

She didn't expect Lloyd to play such a dirty trick on her!

Ebony was in a disadvantageous position for a while. Then, she stared at Lloyd for a long time. Suddenly, she squeezed out a smile and ingratiatingly extended her hand to Lloyd as she said, "Well, Lloyd, how about we make peace? Let's shake hands. We are still good friends, okay?"

Lloyd looked at her with a soft smile. Then, in a gentle voice, he said, "Pack your things."

Ebony yelled, "Hey! Lloyd, when are you going to stop taking revenge?"

Lloyd had stopped talking. He sat down and looked at her calmly. He waited for her to gather her things and then go with him.

Ebony now realized that she couldn't be soft on a villain like Lloyd!

She had brought Lloyd home, treated his wound, and let him sleep in her bed!

And yet, Lloyd had turned on her!

Ebony took a deep breath. She knew she had to go easy on Lloyd. Then she sat down and acted pouty. "How about this? I won't kick you out. You'll sleep at my house tonight. You can sleep on my bed. I'll sleep on the couch, okay?"

Lloyd stared at her without moving.

Ebony said quickly, "Since you're not talking, I'll take that as a yes. You call your dad and tell him we're not going back!"

She said as she immediately called Beau's number and then shoved the phone at Lloyd.

Lloyd took the phone but hung up straight away.

"Hey! How..."

"Ebony," Looking at her face, Lloyd said seriously, "I'm not kidding. You are indeed in danger out there."

Ebony frowned as she said, "What would I be in danger of..."

"Max ran away." Lloyd explained the situation to her carefully, "He'll get back at you."

Ebony scratched her ears in anxiety. After a long hesitation, she finally said honestly, "Actually... Well... I wasn't kidnapped by Max... I lied to you..."

Lloyd said calmly, "I know."

Ebony was stunned and said, "You know?"

Lloyd said, "The military has surveillance, so I know exactly what he did."

Ebony was a little surprised. "Then you still..."

"But you shot him." Lloyd looked grave and said, "How can you guarantee he won't get back at you for shooting him?"

Was Max really going to get back at her?

Then Ebony thought of the bullet that she had shot in Max's wrist.

Technically speaking, Max was indeed a ruthless and vengeful man.

Ebony immediately thought of an incident that happened in her past life.

At that time, Max taught her to go with him after two years.

However, of course, she refused to go with him. At that time, she had not yet been destroyed by Roxanne and was still holding on to the only family she had in her heart. And she was so blind that she fell in love with Victor.

Therefore, she naturally did not want to go with Max.

But Max did not agree with her decision.

The Bloody Group was not a group where one could come and go as one please.

As the captain of the Bloody Group, how could Max be a kind person who didn't want anything in return?

Ebony remembered that Max shot her five times that day.

Max's first shot hit her in the right calf. She held back and did not fall to her knees.

Max's second shot hit her lower left leg. However, she still did not kneel.

Max's third shot hit her right knee. Then she could barely hold on.

Then, Max's fourth shot hit her left knee. At that point, Ebony could not hold on and fell to the ground at once.

After the four shots, Ebony was already dying. She was lying on the muddy, wet ground. She was shaking and breathing heavily from the pain.

Then Max walked up to her and kicked her body over.

After that, her body flew out in a circle. She went from lying on the ground to lying on her back.

She really thought she was dead that day. And she closed her eyes and was ready to die.

Then she heard Max say above her head, "Forget it! You can go."

The words Max said were like a placebo.

Ebony couldn't believe it. Then she opened her eyes and saw Max turn around and leave without looking back.

She didn't expect Max to let her go.

She thought Max was a really nice guy.

Although Ebony's throat was dry, she fought back the tears in her eyes and struggled to get up from the ground.

However, she couldn't walk at all, but she lay on her face and tried to get away.

Suddenly, she heard a loud bang.

She had been shot in the back.

She was shaking. Then she fell back to the ground. Her face was buried in the dirt. Then she tried hard to turn her head to see.

And she saw Max holding up the smoking pistol. He looked at her with his gray eyes and said in a soft voice, "I'm sorry. After thinking about it, I don't want to let you go."

After saying that, he tossed the pistol to the man at his side. When he turned around, he said, "Find a better cemetery to bury Ebony."

Damn it! The more Ebony thought about it, the angrier she got!

As she thought about it, Ebony clenched her fists. As soon as she looked up, she saw Lloyd sitting across from her.

Lloyd was right about worrying about her, and Max was indeed petty and rebellious!

However, Max didn't bury her at the end of her previous life. Instead, he sent her to an underground clinic.

But the bullet that Max shot in her back was almost fatal!

She almost couldn't be saved!

As she thought about it, Ebony looked at Lloyd. Finally, she pouted and said, "Well... Okay. I'll go back with you. I'm just going to visit Uncle Beau."

Then Lloyd leaned over and rubbed her hair. He said slowly, "Good girl."

Ebony looked at him. After quite a while, she flinched and moved her head out from under Lloyd's hand. Then she got up and went to pack her clothes.

An hour later, Ebony and Lloyd arrived at the Vasquez family together.

The Vasquez family's house was Grace's villa, and its neighborhood was safe, secure, and quiet.

Lloyd got out of the car. Then, Ebony quickly followed him.

When the two of them reached the door, Ebony suddenly pulled Lloyd's sleeve and asked him, "Is my hair messy? Can you look at it for me?"

Then Lloyd turned around and looked at her for a moment. He stroked her hair and said, "It's beautiful."

Ebony nodded and said, "Then let's go in!"

Lloyd smiled and opened the door.

The room was dark.

Ebony thought, 'Huh? Isn't there anyone at home?'

Ebony had never been here before, so she didn't do anything rash. She just stood in the doorway and looked inside.

At that moment, Lloyd slammed the door shut.

The room was suddenly dark.

Seeing that the light had not turned on for a long time, Ebony whispered, "Lloyd..."

The moment her voice just broke off, she heard the sudden sound of running in front of her.

Before Ebony could react, the next second, a small figure suddenly wrapped itself around her thigh.

Next, Ebony heard a childish and cute voice say, "Happy Birthday, Ebony!"

Ebony froze.

"Bang!"

At that moment, the whole hall suddenly lit up with colored lights.

Ebony looked down and saw Virginia, who was holding her with a silly smile.

Then she looked ahead and saw several people wearing pointy birthday hats and little colorful crowns walking toward her.

She saw Beau, Louisa, and...

Ebony watched the last woman pushing the cart with the birthday cake. Then she realized that she was Chasidah, who looked similar to her and was gentle and graceful.

She was stunned.

Then, Chasidah walked up to Ebony. She had a kind smile on her face. She kept looking at Ebony's fair and beautiful little face. After quite a while, she softly said, "Ebs, happy birthday."
