Chapter 11 Four to One
After leaving the room, Ebony finally recovered from horror.
There were no cameras in the corridor, and she was gasping against the wall.
At that time, Lloyd went out of the room. When passing by her, he said lazily, "Are you scared of ghosts?"
Ebony raised her eyes and immediately retorted, "I? Ghosts are scared of me."
Lloyd was surprised and stopped. He turned around to look at her with his hands in the pockets of his trousers.
Ebony raised her head resolutely and stared at him, "What are you doing?"
Looking at her face, Lloyd slowly moved his long legs and walked towards her.
Ebony stood still.
Lloyd stopped in front of her. They were a step away from each other. He then raised his right hand and bent his long fingers to touch her cheek with the back of the index finger.
Ebony immediately took a half step back sensitively.
Ebony was dumbfounded and argued, "Why can't I sweat in winter? Sweating has nothing to do with you. Are you a police officer? You'd like to regulate everything?
"Heh," Lloyd chuckled. His thumb rubbed the index finger to remove the drop of the sweat. He then said, "Whatever."
After that, he walked to the bathroom at the end of the corridor.
Ebony raised her hand and touched her face. There seemed to be his cold smell left there.
She wiped her face and stared viciously in the direction of the bathroom.
In the end, Ebony didn't go back until the movie almost ended.
After the movie ended, everyone went back to their room. But when Ebony went to bed at night, she couldn't fall asleep.
The plot of the horror movie always appeared in her mind.
She then opened her eyes and found it more horrible when seeing the darkness in the room, so she got up and went outside.
The lights were still on in the hall. She was in her pajamas and stayed there.
And then she heard "clatter".
There was a soft clatter and the hall went dark.
Ebony took a short gasp in horror.
She realized that the B&B would occasionally trip due to unstable voltage. But it was midnight now, she couldn't ask the boss to get up and turn on the switch for her.
She was thinking that she might as well just stay in the room.
She groped and stretched out her hand to go back to her room. But suddenly, she touched something warm when she walked around the corner.
Ebony froze for an instant, and the cold sweat on her forehead fell like a waterfall.
She wondered, "Oh, no. Although five people died here, they all committed suicide. It couldn't be a ghost?"
She was almost scared to death and her feet seemed to be nailed there. She couldn't move at all. Many illusions flashed in her mind. At that moment, a big warm hand suddenly held her slender wrist.
"Ebony?" a cold, deep male voice sounded in the darkness.
Ebony came back to her senses and asked hesitantly, "Lloyd?"
"Yes," Lloyd's voice was low. His fingers didn't loosen and held her wrist, "Tripped?"
She finally got relieved after making sure that it was Lloyd, a human not a ghost. She answered, "Yes."
"I'll go and see," he loosened her hand and walked past her while speaking.
Ebony immediately grabbed his arm.
Lloyd was shocked and stopped. He was silent for a moment, "Are you afraid?"
Ebony gritted her teeth and refused to admit it, "No!"
Lloyd chuckled and stretched out the other hand to cover the back of her cold hand. And then, he got her hand off his arm and held her.
Ebony was stunned.
Lloyd said, "Alright, I'm afraid. Go with me."
Their palms clung to each other. Ebony could clearly feel that her small hand was being completely wrapped by his big palm.
"Huh?" Lloyd asked in a sleepy voice as if urging her.
Ebony finally said, "Ok, I'll go with you since you beg me."
In the end, Ebony was held by Lloyd all the way to the electric meter room.
"Crack."
The moment the switch was turned on, the induction light was on.
The light was weak, but at least it was bright.
As soon as Ebony lowered her head, she saw their hands holding together. She immediately took her hand back and put it behind her.
Lloyd didn't say anything. He closed the electric meter box, whisked the ashes on his hands, and walked outside.
Ebony followed him, "How do you know the electric meter room is here?"
Lloyd said casually, "The structure of the European-style house is quite similar."
Lloyd went to wash his hands. When he came back, he saw Ebony was still there. He raised his eyebrows, "Don't go back?"
"No, I can't sleep," Ebony said resolutely.
Lloyd smiled, "Because of the horror movie?"
Ebony leaned against the wall lazily with an indifferent expression on her face, "You are very strange. How can you owe everything to the movie? I can't sleep if I change a bed. I have the princess syndrome, okay?"
"Whatever."
After that, he bypassed her and walked back to his room. He suddenly stopped and turned around to ask halfway, "Is that you made up the electuary for me?"
Ebony looked at him, "Yes, anything wrong?"
"It works," after that, Lloyd entered his room and closed the door.
Ebony stood in the corridor and was silent for a while. And then, she was wondering what he came out for.
She was wondering, 'He didn't go to the bathroom. Did he just come out to turn on the switch for me?'
In the end, Ebony sat in the hall all night. Because of lack of sleep, she woke everybody up at 5:30 in the morning in revenge.
Everyone dragged their tiring bodies, finished washing reluctantly, and went to the dining room to have breakfast.
Ebony was energetic. She told everyone today's route and then looked at them, "Do you agree?"
All of them nodded dazedly.
In the next two days, under the leadership of Ebony, they successfully completed the task. Besides, there were still 15 euros left.
Rita proposed to spend it to celebrate the fulfillment.
They voted to decide whether they should spend it. Lloyd was making a phone call outside, so he did not vote. Except for Ebony, others agreed to spend it.
"Four to one," Ebony said every word composedly, "You four agree to spend it except me. Mine is valid while yours are invalid. Ok, I decide not to spend it. Does anyone else disagree?"
Others said nothing.
