Chapter 259 Ebony, Chill in the Morning

Chapter 259 Ebony, Chill in the Morning

Ebony wasn't pretending to sleep. She closed her eyes just to overcome the drowsiness.

Most people would not get out of bed as soon as they woke up in the morning. Instead, they would sleep in and get up when the inertia was gone.

She nestled in Lloyd's arms for about another minute or so.

Then she sat up.

The man gently let her go as if he was aware that she had woken up.

She rose from the sofa, stretched herself, and said without looking at Lloyd, "I'm going to my room."

With that, she ran upstairs.

Lloyd chuckled at the fleeing girl, got up to clean the coffee table, and then went upstairs to his room.

Soon, it was the next morning.

Rita woke up to smell the aroma of pancakes downstairs.

She lunged over, but the impact didn't make Ebony stumble or wobble. She just reminded the girl, "Easy."

Rita hugged Ebony's waist, rested her chin on Ebony's shoulder, and giggled.

Ebony turned the pancake in the pan and asked, "Are the others awake?"

Rita replied sweetly, "I saw the door to Jacob's room open when I came down. I think he will be here soon."

Ebony didn't speak again.

Rita then added, "Ebony, the sound insulation of this house seems to be not so good. In the middle of the night, I heard voices from the adjacent room where Justin and Moses are in."

Ebony was surprised. Seeing the pancake was almost done, she put in eggs and sausages. While smearing them with sauces, she asked, "What happened to them?"

Rita said, "It seems that the bed is too small, and they were discussing whether to use one or two blankets."

Usually, when someone had to share the bed with another, it was common practice that they would use their own blankets.

They could share the bed but only shared the blanket with those who were very close to them.

In Justin and Moses' room, Ebony had prepared two blankets.

However, the bed was only 1.5 meters long. It was small, and the two men were big. Besides, the blankets were thick, so the bed might not be big enough for them to sleep on.

Ebony asked, "What happened afterward?"

Rita replied, "I fell asleep, so I don't know if they figured out a way."

Just then, Jacob came down and overheard their conversation. While stretching himself, he said, "They shared the blanket. It's not cold at night in early summer, so they were fine with one blanket."

Ebony put one pancake on a plate, handed it to Rita, turned around, and greeted the man, "Good morning, Jacob."

Jacob smiled, "Morning."

Ebony put the last pancake into the pan and then asked, "Did you hear it too? Is the sound insulation really that bad?"

Jacob replied, "Yeah, when they reached an impasse, I knocked on their door and asked Moses if he would like to sleep in my room, but Justin declined."

Rita grinned and said, "They're closer, aren't they?"

Jacob nodded and replied, "I think so."

They had met for the first time yesterday, so it would be a little awkward if he shared his room with either of them.

It was different for Justin and Moses. They were friends. It was less awkward when they slept on the same bed.

The three of them chatted for a while till Ebony got all the pancakes ready.

While cleaning her hands, she asked, "Isn't Lloyd up yet?"

Jacob said, "When I came down, the door to his room was closed."

Ebony frowned and muttered, "What's going on? Lloyd usually gets up earlier than me."

Jacob was stunned.

Rita was too.

Jacob dully looked up.

Rita immediately looked over at Ebony.

After serving breakfast, she said, "I'm going to get them down. You can start eating."

Until she disappeared from the staircase, Rita swallowed and said bitterly, "Isn't it the first day of their simulated marriage yesterday?"

Jacob was also dazed. "So, how did she know Lloyd's routine... Did they..."

Rita immediately said, "Impossible!"

She then suddenly remembered something and quickly said, "Right, didn't they work together in a movie before? I think they were eating and staying with the crew."

"Oh," Jacob quickly nodded, "I see it now."

Rita also nodded. "Yeah, definitely!"

On the second floor, Ebony saw that the doors to Lloyd's room and Justin and Moses' room were both closed.

She went ahead and knocked on the guest's room first.

The door opened. With a pair of pants in his hand, a disheveled man appeared.

Moses saw the person outside and immediately called out with a smile, "Auntie!"

Ebony frowned, looked down at Moses' legs which were in pants, and asked, "Why are you holding a pair of pants?"

Moses replied, "I'm going to help Justin put them on."

Ebony froze, looked inside the room, and saw Justin sitting on the bed. His lower body was covered with a blanket. When he saw her, a smile appeared on his face.

Aware of his condition, she said, "Make it quick and go downstairs for breakfast."

Moses hurriedly replied, "Sure!"

She then left for Lloyd's room.

Just as she was going to knock, the door suddenly opened.

Holding his phone, Lloyd saw the girl outside raising her fist and arched his brow. "Are you going to hit me?"

Ebony put her hand down and sulked, "It's time for breakfast."

Lloyd put the phone in his pocket, held her back, and said, "I received a phone call. Now I'm good to go."

Ebony backed away from his arms and went downstairs.

In the dining room, Rita and Jacob hadn't started eating. Obviously, they were waiting for the others.

After a while, Moses helped Justin to come down.

Once everyone was seated, breakfast started.

The food was simple yet tasty.

Rita marveled, "Ebony, you're such a good cook!"

Jacob nodded and echoed, "It's even better than restaurant food."

Moses immediately boasted, "That's my aunt!"

Justin also smiled and praised the food.

Lloyd, however, put his fork and knife down.

He had just sipped the milk and had not eaten his pancake.

Justin saw it and asked, "Lloyd, you good?"

Lloyd put down his milk and said in a bland voice, "I don't usually have fried food for breakfast.'

Once the words were out of his mouth, the others at the table fell silent.

They all looked over at him.

Even if he didn't like the food, he should finish it. Ebony cooked it after all, but he refused to have it in the presence of everyone, which was mean.

Older than the others, Jacob considered saying something to persuade Lloyd.

Ebony suddenly got up.

His face changed, and the other three were also shocked.

Rita hurried over, held Ebony's waist, and said, "Ebony, chill. Don't get mad early in the morning!"

Ebony confusedly pushed Rita away and frowned. "What do you mean?"

Rita froze and asked blankly, "What are you trying to do then?"

Ebony replied, "Serve him porridge. Didn't you hear him? He doesn't like fried food for breakfast, but likes porridge. It's in the pot and should be good now."
