Chapter 16

Chapter 16
It took seven or eight minutes to drive the 500 meters of road outside the stadium.
After crossing the intersection, the traffic was dispersed and the road was immediately clear.
When Shawn was driving, he used to leaning back in the back seat with relaxed, long and well-boned fingers. And he drove the car very steadily without ever holding the steering wheel hard.
This was evident in the fact that the car was going very fast now.
Vanessa Green grabbed the seat belt and sat straight, staring at the scene in front of her, not even daring to turn his head.
It was only when the red light came on at the next intersection that Shawn Yeats slammed on the brakes and slowly turned his head.
Although he didn't say anything and Vanessa Green didn't look at him, she could guess what he was thinking at the moment.
Vanessa Green looked straight ahead, blinked calmly and said, "I'll think about it."
"Hmm."
Shawn Yeats propped his elbows on the steering wheel and looked at her with a smirk, "Haven't you made it up yet?"
Vanessa Green, "Don't worry, there's still ninety minutes to finish the exam."
Shawn Yeats stopped talking and put his attention to the road conditions.
As Vanessa Green watched the car go on its wild ride, she suddenly remembered a question.
Where was it going?
She glanced at Shawn Yeats, but she found that he was not interested. So, she did not ask more questions, and silently shut her mouth.
In the quiet environment, Vanessa Green slowly bent down, reached out and rubbed her ankle with haling.
"It hurts, it really hurts."
"Don't make any noise."
"Oh ......"
---
They were silent.
The car left downtown, drove onto a viaduct and crossed the river, surrounded by a flat green belt with few buildings.
Therefore, Vanessa Green clearly saw the words "Lantrie Medical Centre" on the neon sign in the distance.
She blinked and turned her head to look at Shawn Yeats.
It seemed that Shawn Yeats did not feel her gaze. He slowed down the car and drove into the car park.
After parking, Shawn Yeats unbuckled his seat belt, opened the door and got out, going around to the passenger door.
He opened the door, with his arm half propped and bent over to look at Vanessa Green.
"Get out of the car."
The suspicion in her mind was proven. Shawn Yeats still had conscience.
Vanessa Green wanted to laugh, but she still had to keep up her painful appearance. So, she tried to hold back her smile.
She stretched out one leg on the ground and poked the upper half of her body out. But she didn't get out of the car.
"My feet hurt and I can't stand up."
Shawn Yeats looked at her with downcast eyes.
As long as he didn't say anything, Vanessa Green didn't think it was a refusal.
The night air was wet and cold. And the greenery had just been watered, soaking up the vapor in large swathes. It was like it had just rained
"I can't walk either."
Vanessa Green spoke with a trembling voice, making the weather even colder.
Vanessa Green said, "If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have sprained my ankle."
After saying that, she carefully opened her arms towards Shawn Yeats.
She wanted him to carry her.
It was not clear if he could understand what she meant.
It seemed that Shawn Yeats was a little impatient.
"Vanessa Green, don't pretend."
Vanessa Green's eyebrows clustered and she looked like she was about to cry.
"Who's pretending?" She looked at Shawn Yeats sadly, "Is your heart made of stone?"
Shawn Yeats said, "No."
Vanessa Green pursed her lips, "Then you ......"
Shawn Yeats: "I don't have a heart, you said it."
Vanessa Green, "......"
"Why are you so mean? Just try walking in heels and you'll understand how I feel. It's like I've had my ankle broken, it's super painful. Oh, and you've never worn high heels, you wouldn't ......"
Shawn Yeats didn't want to listen to her chatter anymore. So, he suddenly opened the car door completely. Then he bent down and carried Vanessa Green out of the car.
Vanessa Green suddenly took to the air and her mind went blank. She subconsciously reached out and wrapped her arms around Shawn Yeats's shoulders.
It was only when Shawn Yeats turned around and walked towards the hospital with her in his arms that she slowly came back to her senses.
She had only wanted Shawn Yeats to carry her on his back.
At the moment she was leaning into his arms, she could smell the light scent of his clothes. She could feel his body heat. As soon as she raised her head, her face could brush against his jaw. It was very close.
Vanessa Green wrapped her arms around his shoulders, but her arms curled quietly.
After slowly feeling his breath close at hand, Vanessa Green slowly leaned her face into his chest.
Then she snickered.
---
The hospital was brightly lit.
As this was a private hospital, there were not many patients. Those who walking in the common areas were almost all medical staff.
Shawn Yeats, carrying a woman in his arms, walked in with big strides, but with no rush in his steps. This inadvertently drew the attention of many people.
Vanessa Green felt that someone was looking at her. So, she quietly raised her eyes and saw that two nurses was leaning against the enquiry desk, probing and smiling as they surveyed them.
-- -"Wow! So handsome, oh my god."
-- -"I want to be hugged too."
--- "My boyfriend would just pick me up."
--- "I want to be that girl."
Although Vanessa Green could not hear clearly what they were saying, she, who was also a woman, could vaguely guess what they were saying.
She raised her head and looked at the side of Shawn Yeats's face, she couldn't hide the smile in her eyes.
"Did your ex-girlfriend ever say that you look handsome at this angle."
Shawn Yeats didn't react to her compliment.
It wasn't until he approached the emergency room that he stopped in front of the door and lowered his eyes to look at Vanessa Green.
Once he lowered his head, He met her eyes. Their breaths were intertwining.
Vanessa Green inexplicably felt as if the rhythm of her breathing was beginning to disrupt, and her palms were beginning to heat up.
Shawn Yeats pulled the corner of his mouth. His face was expressionless and his tone was extremely cold: "Did your ex-boyfriend ever say that you were heavy."
Vanessa's tone was a little reserved and shy.
It seemed that Shawn Yeats was imitating her. But when it came out of his mouth, there was no emotion other than sarcasm.
"......"
Vanessa Green's breathing rhythm was completely messed up.
She didn't know how to adjust.
"No!"
---"But I think you have the potential to be my first ex-boyfriend that ever said to me."
Vanessa Green thought this way without saying out.
---
"Oi oi oi! Ouch! Ouch ouch ouch!"
Vanessa Green sat on the bed, screaming miserably every time the doctor moved her ankle.
"I am gentle with my handing."
The doctor on duty was a middle-aged woman. Seeing that Vanessa Green's reaction, she was a bit intolerant, "Does it hurt that much?"
Vanessa Green glanced at Shawn Yeats.
"I'm just afraid of pain."
Shawn Yeats was standing next to her, but he still did not react to Vanessa Green's words.
Suddenly, his mobile phone rang.
He took it out and glanced at it. Then he left the diagnostic room.
After that, the doctor examined Vanessa Green again. And Vanessa Green never screamed in agony again.

"So it was a pout." The doctor smiled and said, "Your case is actually not serious, I told you it didn't hurt that much."
Vanessa Green lowered her head and didn't say anything.
The doctor sat back at the desk, typing as she said, "Ice it for 48 hours after you get back, then apply a hot compress after that. If you're really in pain, use some medicine that activates blood circulation and removes blood stasis. Don't massage, and try not to walk around, and wear comfortable shoes, remember these?"
Vanessa Green nodded.
In fact, she was no longer in pain.
After that the doctor typed out the sheet and handed it to her, she said, "I think your boyfriend is quite handsome, but he's too cold and really hard-hearted."
Vanessa Green gave out a grunt.
"Don't be ridiculous, doctor. He's not hard-hearted."
"You're quite protective of him, little girl."
Outside the door, the corridor was silent.
When Shawn Yeats hung up the phone and just pushed open the door, Vanessa Green's emotion-filled voice came from the room.
"He doesn't have a heart at all!"
Shawn Yeats withdrew his hands and turned to leave.
---
Vanessa Green sat on the bed, wiggling her legs.
"Where has he gone? Why isn't he back yet."
She looked towards the door, "I suppose he's gone."
The doctor said, "He's gone to pay the bill."
Just at that moment, the door was opened.
Vanessa Green began to act reflexively.
Frowned, mouth pursed, she was about to complain. But she found that it wasn't Shawn Yeats.
A nurse walked in pushing a wheelchair.
Vanessa Green, "......"
The streetlights were arranged in a solemn way in the cold night.
Shawn Yeats stood by the car. His shadow was stretched out by the light.
Vanessa Green's head slowly lifted when she saw this scene as she was pushed to the car park by the nurse.
Since the concert, she has tossed and turned. Her mental state was tilted.
Her make-up had come off a bit and her lipstick had lost its colour. In the cold white light, she looked really sickly.
The nurse pushed the wheelchair in front of Shawn Yeats. And then the nurse left after giving him a few instructions.
Vanessa Green looked at Shawn Yeats and reached out to him again.
"I still can't walk."
The night wind blew recklessly on the empty car park, blowing Vanessa Green's long hair, which was a bit messy, but it was a cause for pity.
Shawn Yeats looked over at her with some helplessness in his eyes.
He looked deeply at Vanessa Green and was about to bow---
Suddenly, a wildcat leapt out of the grass. It was so fast that its shadow was magnified and stretched several times by the street light, like a vicious monster lunging towards this side.
Vanessa Green's body reacted subconsciously without time to think. She suddenly jumped up, screaming while hiding behind Shawn Yeats in two or three steps. She was shivering.
A few seconds later.
The wildcat leapt away. But it was all silent.
The nurse coughed and pushed the wheelchair away in silence, leaving her in embarrassment.
Shawn Yeats glanced at Vanessa Green. His gaze gradually moved to her leg.
Although he said nothing, Vanessa Green felt that she had a Waterloo of her acting career.
---
It was past midnight when they returned to the city again.
For the first time, Vanessa Green kept quiet so voluntarily in front of Shawn Yeats, without saying a word.
The silence in the car was broken by a ringing bell.
Vanessa Green silently turned her head away and looked out of the window.
She never liked to listen to people who was talking on the phone.
It wasn't until the car arrived at the traffic lights that Shawn Yeats picked up the phone.
But it was a direct connection from the center console, and a male voice came out of the speaker.
"Shawn Yeats, I remember you and Sherri Cook know each other?"
Vanessa Green's eyebrows suddenly jumped.
Sherri Cook, a very famous actress, was both young and beautiful.
Hearing her name in this place, Vanessa Green suddenly had an uncomfortable feeling.
Shawn Yeats gave a "hmm".
"A friend of mine wants to get her for a movie, but my friend hasn't been able to negotiate with her on the fee. I was wondering if there was anything you could do to help my friend."
Vanessa Green peeked at Shawn Yeats.
Unexpectedly, Shawn Yeats also looked back at her.
When their eyes met, Vanessa Green's heart skipped a beat and she began to feel happy.
When Shawn Yeats looked at her at this time, he should also know that she cared about his relationship with other women ......
"She? I think she's an average actress."
Shawn Yeats withdrew his gaze and said calmly, "Not as good as this one in my car."
Vanessa Green, "......"
She would thank him.
The person on the other side of the phone seemed to understand something.
"...... Well, it's very late, I would not bother you."
---
Vanessa Green sat by the bed for a long time.
The scene from today replayed in her head like a movie.
She went to the concert with great anticipation, but she met Sophia Yost.
She tried to frame Shawn Yeats, but she really broke her ankle.
She tried to show her misery, but she was found by him.
She sighed and put her head close to the pillow, sighing for a while and then pounding the covers. After tossing and turning for half a day, she suddenly sat up and dried her messy bangs.
Vanessa Green was not going to stop halfway.
She found her mobile phone from the messy blanket. She thought for a moment and sent a text message to Shawn Yeats.
---I almost forgot, I haven't given you the medical fee for today.
---How can I pay it?
In fact, after sending the text, Vanessa Green didn't expect Shawn Yeats to reply. So, she put the phone down and went to take a shower.
After an hour, she looked at her phone again. And ten minutes ago, there was a reply from Shawn Yeats.
Look at Whatsapp.
Vanessa Green looked at the words again incredulously.
A new friend add request popped up in Whatsapp.
But Vanessa Green's first reaction was to ask him first.
Excuse me, are you Shawn Yeats?
Shawn Yeats,
---Or?
It was until then that a sense of joy swept over Vanessa Green.
She stirred her legs on the bed and danced around a bit before turning over on her pillow and slowly typing.
---How much is the medical bill today? I'll transfer it to you.
Shawn Yeats sent her a bill.
Vanessa Green looked at it and her smile froze at the corner of her mouth.
---Outpatient emergency (not by appointment): 2560 dollar.
---What kind of hospital is it? It is so expensive!!!
Vanessa Green, ......
Vanessa Green, "Can I pay with my medical insurance?"
The moment she sent it she suddenly regretted it and immediately withdrew it. Then she transferred the money to him.
Vanessa Green lied on the bed, feeling her flesh ache.
A few seconds later, her mobile phone rang.
She picked it up again to see that Shawn Yeats had returned the money.
The ache suddenly disappeared and it turned into happiness.
"After all we ......"
No sooner had she finished typing than she saw another message from Shawn Yeats.
---This money will be offset for your acting today.
It took Vanessa Green a few seconds to react to what he meant.
Her smile slowly froze once again, and suddenly she didn't really want to struggle anymore.
Vanessa Green, "An Oscar-worthy film like mine only pays over 2000 dollar?
Vanessa Green said to herself as she typed, "What a mean person."
Shawn Yeats, "How much more do you want?"
Vanessa Green took up her legs and replied slowly,
"I want you to have dinner with me tomorrow."
