Chapter 15
Vanessa didn't expect that she could get a date with Shawn so smoothly, which was as unreal as a dream.
The next morning, she still felt it was unreal, so she opened her eyes and relaxed in bed for a while. Then she took out her phone and clicked to view Shawn's SNS.
However, it was only visible for three days.
But she thought it was just like his style.
Vanessa sat up happily and washed up while sending him messages.
Vanessa: "Good Morning~"
Vanessa then sent him a finger heart sticker.
Until eleven o'clock, Shawn replied: "Good morning..."
Vanessa thought that he got up quite late.
Vanessa: "Don't forget the concert at night."
sy·lucky: "OK."
The concert would start at 7 p.m., so Vanessa wanted to send him a message to ask if he would like to join her for dinner.
But after thinking about it, she decided not to do so. After all, it was not a good idea to overdo things, so it was better to stop at the right time.
Therefore, she not only began to put on makeup early and picked out the clothes for a long time, but also wore a pair of newly bought high heels specifically.
She dolled herself up and went out.
It was just six o'clock. The twilight had not yet arrived, the setting sun was hanging in the sky, and the ground was full of fallen leaves.
But the entrance to the arena where the concert was going to be held was already crowded and bustling with people.
There were many stalls in the square selling all kinds of stuff, such as banners, LED signs made of foam, glow sticks, and various headbands.
Vanessa strolled for a while. She didn't buy anything, but she instead pay attention to some cartoon headbands particularly.
She thought that according to the pattern of idol drama, the headband was the best tool to act cute.
If she could coax Shawn into wearing a headband with her, the day when she became his girlfriend would be around the corner.
When Vanessa thought of that scene, she felt funny and looked forward to it, so she picked out two Mickey Mouse headbands carefully.
The wind was strong in the square, so she pulled her scarf tighter around her neck and went to a corner to wait for Shawn.
At the concert, all the people who came were groups of friends or couples in pairs. People like Vanessa who came alone were relatively rare, so she was quite conspicuous.
She was standing there and kept looking at the time. She wanted to urge Shawn, but she held back again and again.
At 6:30, the staff started to organize the audience to line up to enter the arena, but Shawn had not yet come.
Vanessa sent a message to urge him while walking toward the gate.
Just after reaching the roadside, a limousine slowly parked in front of her.
Just as she saw this kind of car, she thought it must be Shawn.
Vanessa immediately smiled. After the car door was opened, a slender leg was stretched out.
What was on the legs were knee-high boots.
Vanessa blinked and saw Sophia get out of the car.
Carrying her bag, she took off her sunglasses, and then looked at Vanessa and smiled inexplicably.
Vanessa did not expect Sophia would come.
Then she thought that it was normal for her to be here. After all, Rachel Taylor was popular.
Vanessa also smiled at her and said, "What a coincidence."
"Coincidence?"
Sophia was puzzled and said, "Didn't you invite me here?"
Vanessa was confused.
She was puzzled by what Sophia had said.
She thought that she hadn't invited Sophia here.
And whom she had invited was Shawn.
Wait, Shawn?
At that instant, Vanessa's mind was reeling.
Fortunately, she calmed down in a very short time and came to realize something quickly. Everything suddenly became clear in the chaos.
She realized that "sy" could be Shawn Yeats for short.
And it could also be Sophia Yost for short.
It turned out that the person she had asked out excitedly last night was Sophia.
She thought what a coincidence.
How coincidental it was.
Vanessa held her forehead, forced a smile, and said, "Yes, I mean I just urged you, and you are here now."
"Well."
Sophia perceived that there seemed to be something wrong with Vanessa, but she couldn't figure out why and she could only smile awkwardly.
Actually, she also felt confused last night.
Sophia was not a person who could get acquainted with others easily. After she had asked the chief editor for Vanessa's Whatsapp account and was thinking about how to talk with Vanessa, Vanessa actually greeted her warmly as if knowing who she was.
And then Vanessa even took the initiative to invite her to the concert.
Although Sophia felt surprised, she suddenly remembered that a few days ago, Vanessa had indeed talked about the concert in the office.
At that time, she said she had an extra ticket and asked Tracy if she wanted to go together. Tracy had accepted the invitation, but she suddenly had an interview assignment yesterday.
When Tracy left, she told Vanessa about it and Vanessa was quite disappointed.
Thus, when Sophia got the invitation from Vanessa, she accepted it without thinking too much.
--
The order of the concert was well managed, so they entered the arena smoothly.
Until the concert was halfway through, the two still didn't have much communication with each other. They just sat there quietly and waved their glow sticks occasionally. The atmosphere was somehow a little bit awkward.
Although they had different reasons for being embarrassed, they were out of tune with the revelry of the rest of the audience.
During that time, Vanessa didn't even listen to the songs carefully and what she was thinking about was all about Shawn.
At some point, she couldn't resign herself to it and couldn't help but take out her phone and take a look at it.
She found that it was really Sophia instead of Shawn.
At this time, she just wanted Shawn to go to hell!
At the same time, she looked up and saw Rachel Taylor sitting on the hanging swing and singing, who kept looking at the area where they were.
Rachel Taylor was singing a Japanese song.
Although Vanessa could not understand the lyrics, she felt that the song sounded too miserable.
But it was not as miserable as her.
As the atmosphere gradually became stronger, many audiences were moved and cried.
And Rachel Taylor still kept looking in the direction in which Vanessa was, making her feel as if Rachel Taylor was singing this song specifically for her.
After immersing herself in such an atmosphere, Vanessa suddenly felt sorrowful and seemed to be about to weep in the next second.
Sophia sneaked a look at Vanessa several times and kept feeling that she was somehow odd.
After the song was finished, Sophia finally couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong with you? Are you upset?"
Vanessa turned her head and stared at Sophia.
As the concert became more and more lively, Vanessa tried to release her emotions amidst the screams all around her.
It happened that Sophia was next to her, and she somehow got a desire to talk to this intern in front of her who she didn't know very well.
"You know, I just broke up not long ago."
Sophia nodded in a daze and said, "I've heard a bit about it."
The air conditioning was on in the arena and the air was not circulating, so Vanessa sniffed and spoke with a nasal voice.
"He has courted me for a long time and at that time everyone thought I was the only one that he wanted to be with, but not long after we got together, he cheated on me."
Sophia widened her eyes and gulped.
She thought that it was hard to imagine that a girl like Vanessa could be cheated on.
"The other woman doesn't look that pretty."
Sophia asked, "Then why did he do so?"
Vanessa said, "That's because that girl's family is rich and has a good uncle!"
Vanessa then went on to tell her about how blatant they were and how that phony lover acted in front of her. Hearing that, Sophia shared the same hatred toward that woman with Vanessa and slapped her thighs in anger repeatedly.
"Oh my god! This kind of person deserves to go to hell!"
"Yeah!"
As she was in high spirits, Vanessa even told her secret to Sophia, "So I can't bear this and I won't let them live in peace. It happens that her uncle seems to have a thing about me, so I'll go to seduce him and become their aunt!"
Sophia nodded and spoke in an excited tone.
"Yes, seduce her uncle! Be her aunt!"
"You have to do so!"
"Go for it, Vanessa!"
--
When the concert was almost over, a special guest showed up surprisingly, who was a popular young guy with a lot of female fans.
All the audience did not expect this, so when he showed up, they all screamed and even Sophia was stunned.
After the two songs were finished, the young guy went off stage, while Sophia still couldn't calm down.
She looked around for a while. Her eyes glinted, and then she looked in the direction of the backstage for a few seconds and said, "Vanessa, my friend just sent me a message and looked for me for something, so I have to leave first."
Vanessa was immersing herself in the atmosphere. She waved at Sophia and said, "Be careful."
Sophia put on her sunglasses and walked out with her back bent.
Therefore, Vanessa finished watching this concert on her own.
Until the encore was over and everyone left the arena, it was almost twelve o'clock.
The road outside the gate of the arena was jammed and it was even difficult to get a car.
Vanessa waited for a while, and the road finally became less jammed and the vehicles were able to move slowly.
Then she walked to the roadside so that it would be convenient for her to get into the car.
It was quiet all around. Vanessa blew on her hands to warm them up and leaned forward to look around.
She looked around several times but did not see the car that she had hailed online. Instead, she saw a very eye-catching sports car.
Vanessa gradually fixed her gaze at the car and then stared at it.
Through the windshield, she could still recognize the person in the car was Shawn.
The vehicles on the road were moving slowly. With one hand on the steering wheel, Shawn looked indifferent as if he didn't care about anything outside.
But when he looked up, he glanced at a person.
He took a closer look and found that Vanessa was walking toward him step by step.
Suddenly, Vanessa stumbled.
Her new shoes didn't fit her feet and the heel was too thin. Although she didn't notice it when she was sitting, it was obvious when she was walking.
It was just a slight sprain, but at that moment, Vanessa got the idea that she could scam him by setting up an accident.
So she looked straight at Shawn and just stayed there with one foot on tiptoe.
Because she knew that Shawn had seen her.
And he probably could not ignore her.
As expected, the car drove forward slowly and stopped when it passed by her side.
The car window was rolled down, and Shawn was bending his arms, holding his chin with his hand, and looking at Vanessa sideways, without saying anything.
They just looked at each other and seemed to be waiting for the other to speak first.
A few seconds later, Vanessa pouted piteously, "Mr. Yeats, I sprained my ankle."
Shawn still looked at her in a chilly manner and waited for the next sentence.
Vanessa said, "It's all because of you."
She stepped forward to get closer to the car and said, "You should take responsibility for me."
Shawn slowly raised his head, holding his temple with the back of his hand, and looked Vanessa up and down absent-mindedly.
"What does this have to do with me?"
Vanessa said, "I can't watch out for the road when I see you."
Shawn felt speechless.
The car in front of him had already driven away, and the cars behind him all started to honk.
Shawn snorted lightly, and then he turned around and drove away.
Vanessa felt speechless.
She thought how he could do so!
Vanessa was so angry that she immediately stood up straight. She stamped her feet and held her arms, not knowing what to do for a moment.
Just at that time, the driver called her, saying that it was not convenient to park there and asking her to walk to the intersection.
She had to go forward.
As she was walking, she suddenly missed her footing.
Vanessa's eyes were wide open, and before she could realize what had happened, she felt severe pain in her ankle.
She fell down, and fortunately a girl who was passing by rushed up to help her.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
Damn it.
She thought it was retribution.
The girl continued to go across the road, while Vanessa felt extremely painful as she stood up and moved her foot.
But she had no choice. As the driver couldn't come in, she could only limp while cursing.
There was a traffic light ahead, and Shawn was watching her in the rear-view mirror.
He looked up, tapped his finger on the steering wheel for a moment, and then turned around at the intersection.
It seemed like there was no end to this road. Vanessa wore high heels, limping and cursing.
"You are so cold-hearted, Shawn."
"You have bad vision."
"You are heartless and have no conscience."
"Am I not beautiful? Am I not cute?"
"Do you deliberately avoid seeing beautiful people? Then you should just donate your eyes."
"You are still a fool no matter how many times you reincarnate."
Suddenly, the corner of her forehead twitched and she stopped her steps inexplicably.
It seemed that there was something wrong around her.
Drawn by something, she turned her head slowly.
A car parked on the roadside which was less than half a meter away from her.
Shawn rolled down the car window and stared at her.
Vanessa did not speak.
She swallowed hard and said.
"I think I can get in the car first before explaining. What do you think?"
