Chapter 13
The meeting hall was crowded, but no one dared to approach Shawn rashly.
So his voice was clearly heard by Vanessa.
Vanessa was stunned for a few seconds, and she didn't know what Shawn suddenly asked her to do.
"What's the matter?"
Is there anything important he would ask her to do?
Until all the people around paid attention to Vanessa.
Henry Blackwell also stretched his neck curiously and poked Vanessa's arm.
"He asked you to go."
Vanessa turned to look at him and blinked. An idea suddenly came out of her heart like a bean sprout.
She continued to look at Henry, and the bean sprout was also growing.
Then her eyes were fixed on the WeChat interface.
Vanessa felt a "bang" in her mind, and the bean sprout was exploded into firework.
Shawn was not feeling well!
He was jealous!
He was green with envy!
Vanessa's heart was filled with joy. She groomed her hair, and then walked steadily towards the infield gate in high heels.
The happy smile she showed when she pushed the door was sincere.
The infield lounge and outfield seemed to be two worlds.
The windows were bright and clean. Only sunlight was needed to illuminate the whole room.
Several sofas were placed in rows, the ground was covered with a soft carpet, and around the table stood a few young men and women, dressed in formal clothes, holding iPads and folders in their hands, lowering their heads and whispering.
There was no sound in the room except their soft voices.
Vanessa caught up with Shawn and asked, "what can I do for you?"
"Sit down."
Vanessa sat down and looked at him with expectation.
Hurry up!
Tell me you are jealous!
Shawn lowered his head and glanced gently across her face.
He looked at Vanessa without saying anything.
Vanessa was anxious.
There was an irrepressible complacency on her face.
Under his gaze, her thought was exposed clearly.
"Why you asked me to come?"
Shawn raised his eyelids and casually said, "where is the female reporter next to you?"
Vanessa blinked, as if she didn't understand.
Shawn repeated, "the female reporter who came with you."
Vanessa was stunned and felt her temples jump twice.
Her nerves were tense and became broken rapidly when she understood what Shawn meant.
Did he ask her to come to inquire about Sophia Yost?
Vanessa took a deep breath.
She grinned, "I'll help you find her."
Hearing her words, Shawn raised his eyebrows.
Vanessa slowly took out her phone, turned her back on Shawn, and tried to make herself look flawless.
She was afraid that her hands would tremble with anger.
Vanessa didn't have Sophia's WeChat, so she directly dialed her.
Sophia was in the coffee shop outside the venue at this moment. There were many people around, but the overall environment was clean and quiet.
She sat on a high stool without being disturbed. She felt much more comfortable after playing with her phone for more than half an hour. She thought it would be good to stay in this state until the end of the press conference.
Unexpectedly, Vanessa suddenly called.
Sophia's heart beat faster abruptly, and even her scalp began to be numb.
Was she going to be called back to the press conference?
"Hello."
Vanessa was about to start talking, but when the words were on the tip of her tongue, she hesitated several times and then said, "Sophia, where are you?"
"The coffee shop outside."
Vanessa paused and added, "I didn't go, but it was too stuffy inside."
"Oh, you've gone."
"?"
"It doesn't matter. Don't bother."
"? ?"
"Well, have a good rest. I'll hang up."
"???"
Vanessa gently took a breath, and when she turned back, her face showed an expression of "see, I can't help it."
"Mr. Yeats, she's gone."
"Where did she go?"
Ah, ah, it didn't have anything to do with you.
"She was uncomfortable and went home."
When she said this, Vanessa's expression was very amazing.
She was very angry actually, but she pretended not to care.
Shawn looked out of the window. The sun glared, and he narrowed his eyes and hid a smile.
"What's wrong with her?"
Ah!
Ah, ah!!
Ah, ah, ah!
It was none of your business.
Vanessa wanted to say she didn't know, but the more thought about it, the madder she became. She couldn't help it.
"She has President phobia."
"..."
"She can't breathe when she sees a great personage like you."
"She feels chest tightness and shortness of breath."
"Disgusting, nauseous."
"..."
Vanessa put her hands behind her back, raised her chin, and said confidently, "I'm different."
"When I saw you, I'm highly delighted."
"Burst with joy."
"I'm so pleased."
"..."
At this time, Barron Chance knocked on the door and leaned in.
"Mr. Yeats, the press conference continues."
Shawn looked at his wrist watch. When he went out, he glanced at Vanessa who didn't know what he meant.
-
Another hour passed, but Sophia had not come back.
Vanessa was not surprised by this result.
Her mind was now full of the questions that Shawn had just asked.
Henry next to her talked to her several times, but she didn't notice it at all. She was staring at the computer in a daze.
Until the end of the press conference, the final interview began.
The reporters all rushed over, and many microphones were tensely placed in front of the rostrum.
In the auditorium, Vanessa's lonely figure was very distinct.
She was silent, eyes drooping, mouth glancing, very suspicious of life.
Did she take the script of the supporting actress?
She deliberately seduced him. Finally, he was attracted by Sophia who was reluctant to come.
ZHIYIN has no such story now.
When her mind came back, she stood up and looked at the rostrum.
In the dense crowd, there was no Shawn.
She didn't know when he left.
Vanessa stood depressed for a while and then went out with her bag.
She couldn't squeeze into the crowded rostrum.
So at the moment, she was almost the only one who left the conference hall. It was still empty outside without any people.
For this reason, Vanessa saw Shawn at a glance.
And Sophia standing opposite him.
There was no sun today. The wind was very strong and cold. Vanessa almost went into a coma.
She did not expect that fate would really play tricks on her.
In broad daylight, there were so many reporters in the conference hall. Shawn was so bold to stand in the square to hook up with a woman.
Didn't he care face-saving?
Was he lack of women?
On the open square, a gust of wind blew, and the scattered leaflets on the ground were rolled up and fluttered down beside their legs.
Vanessa saw Sophia's hair blown up from afar, and they talked in the wind.
After a while, they finished talking. Sophia nodded and walked to her car.
Shawn didn't seem to miss her back, and he turned and went in the opposite direction.
Vanessa stood on the steps and her eyes were fixed on this scene.
Far away, Vanessa couldn't see the expression of Shawn and didn't know what to say.
She was afraid that she would ask why she was so miserable directly.
Shawn stopped after taking a few steps and then looked sideways.
The moment they looked at each other, Vanessa turned around and left.
In any case, it was embarrassing enough for her to meet Shawn at this time.
On the square, only the distant whistle and the sound of the wind blowing through the buildings could be heard, so it was very quiet.
But Vanessa didn't hear footsteps behind her.
Did Shawn leave?
She slowed down and looked back tardily.
Shawn didn't leave. He was still standing there, but his car had been parked behind him.
He was half leaning against the car, with wide shoulders and long legs. His body shape and lines were neatly decorated by his suit.
But his expression was not so serious. He was looking at Vanessa lazily.
Damn.
Vanessa felt like he was on purpose.
No, that was not the script.
Vanessa took back her eyes, as if she hadn't seen him, and went on.
As she walked, she wondered what Shawn meant.
Shawn didn't leave and stood there looking at her without making a sound, as if waiting for her to take the initiative to turn around.
No way.
But as soon as the encouraging idea came to her mind, her footsteps suddenly stopped.
Why was there a wall at the end of this passageway?
There was a wall in front of her, and Shawn behind her.
Vanessa stood still.
She didn't know how long it had passed. Finally, there was the sound of footsteps behind her.
Then came the voice of Shawn.
"What are you doing standing here?"
"... Pray for blessings."
"..."
After a brief silence, the voice sounded again.
"It's time to go."
"Be careful."
She still looked at the wall stubbornly.
Until her wrist was suddenly pulled.
"I'll take you home."
