Chapter 130 Easy to Delete, Hard to Add Back
Noticing that he had no intention of leaving, Teresa turned to look at him and asked, "What's wrong?"
Hubert pursed his lips and replied, "Nothing."
"I'm going back to the office."
"Good ahead."
Teresa casually responded, turned back, and continued to clean the dishes.
Hubert gazed at her for a moment and then went out of the kitchen.
Vivian was playing with Andy. When her grandson was seen coming out, she sulked, "Hubert, why didn't you help Teresa clean the dishes? She has been busy all morning and exhausted."
The men of the Donovan family loved their wives dearly. Vivian could tell how nice her sons were to their wives. They doted on their wives.
Her grandson, however, was a negative example in this aspect.
"Teresa doesn't need my help. Grandma, I'm going back to the office."
Hubert said in a low voice and walked past his grandmother.
Vivian opened her mouth, trying to say something, but Hubert quickly strode out of the store. She sighed under her breath and swallowed back the words at the tip of her tongue.
Before long, Hubert drove away from the entrance of Watenll City School.
Another call from Morgan came.
"Anything?"
Hubert stopped the car at the traffic light and waited for it to turn green.
"It turns out your cousin-in-law is detained."
"He's not my cousin-in-law."
Hubert indifferently corrected his friend.
The cold war between Teresa and him hadn't been over yet, and he was not sure how long their relationship would last. He would not see those people as his relatives.
Even Teresa no longer saw them as her family.
"Okay, you're right."
Morgan was clear about what the Heller family had done to Teresa and her sister. He knew that his joke was a bit over the top.
"Troy intercepted Teresa with a few punks. They tried to hit her but got beaten. She called the police and had them arrested."
Teresa was unscathed, but those punks were detained.
"What are the Hellers trying to do again?"
Hubert had instructed Morgan to keep an eye on the Hellers. Once they made any move, Hubert would know sooner than Teresa.
"They're going to bail Troy out."
"He called upon a group of people to disturb the social order. If Teresa were not good at boxing, her car would have been smashed, and she would have been injured. Maybe her money would have been robbed too. That was no different from highway robbery. Detention is a light punishment for him."
Morgan laughed, "I didn't expect your wife to be such a good fighter. Alright, I know what you mean."
Hubert was unresponsive to his friend's compliment.
"Are you still in her store? Did you make peace? Take some time to coax her. Girls are easy to coax. Give her some flowers or things she likes. If you don't know her preferences, you can just shower her with money. I can guarantee you that she'll be delighted."
"I'm on my way back to the office. The traffic light is green now, and I have to go."
Hubert then hung up the phone.
What did Teresa like?
Hubert hadn't tried to figure it out. He only knew that she liked delicacies. She was a foodie.

There was a time she accompanied Gwendolyn to a banquet not long after they got their marriage license. His bodyguard saw them and told him that the two girls had been eating and drinking in the corner all night. Once they were satiated, they slipped away instead of associating with those rich kids.
No wonder they were each other's best friends. They were two of a kind.
He could just shower her with money.
In the store, he had reminded her to return Sophie's favor and proposed to transfer money to her, but her words rendered him speechless.
They had deleted each other on WhatsApp, and Teresa even had his number added to the blacklist.
How was he going to shower her with money if he couldn't add her back?
Hubert somewhat regretted being so petty, starting a cold war with his wife because of a little misunderstanding, and deleting her on WhatsApp.
Now he wanted to add her back, but there wasn't any chance.
...
At Thurman Electronics, Patrick happily came out of the GM's office.
Isabelle saw the broad smile on his face, quickly followed him into the office, and closed the door.
"Patrick, what did our boss tell you? You look excited."
Patrick put down the document that had been reviewed and signed by his boss, grabbed Isabelle's arm, pulled her over, wrapped his arm around her waist, and smiled, "Take a guess."
"You got a promotion? Or a raise?"
Patrick shook his head.
There were two VPs above him. One of them was their boss' friend, and the other was their boss' brother. There was no room for his promotion.
He was content with being a manager.
He would not get a raise either. He would have more bonus at best. He thought nothing of bonuses since he had a chance to make extra money now.
"Come on, tell me the good news."
Isabelle pouted at him.
Patrick kissed her on the cheek and croaked, "Give me a kiss, and I'll tell you."
"Bah, you just kissed me."
Patrick looked at her with affection.
Captivated by his gaze, Isabelle pulled his head down and kissed him on the lips.
When the French kiss was over, Patrick said, "Our boss didn't give me a promotion or a raise, but I got an invitation. He asked me to attend a cocktail party on his behalf. According to the man, the participants are all business elites."
"This shows our boss' trust in me. I'll be closer to those tycoons and benefit from it."
Patrick was delighted that their boss trusted him and granted him an opportunity to enter the upper class.
In their boss' words, Patrick wouldn't have gotten the chance if the two VPs and he were too busy to go.
Patrick was flattered.
"Isabelle, come to the party with me in the evening. It will be held at Watenll Hotel, which will not be open to the public tonight."
To please Isabelle, Patrick often took her to Watenll Hotel to spend money. He was quite familiar with the top hotel in the city, but it was different tonight. He would attend the party as a VIP.
Isabelle was delighted by the news and smiled, "You're right. Our boss gave you this opportunity because he looks upon you and trusts you. Are you really going to take me here? Not your wife?"
For such occasions, the guests usually appeared with their wives.
Of course, some bosses attended parties with their secretaries.
Once Leila was mentioned, the smile on his face disappeared.
He said disgustedly, "I'd rather go alone than take Leila with me."
