Chapter 116 They Have Unfriended Each Other
"It could be that he hasn't seen the message you sent. How about you sending another message?"
Teresa was silent for a while. Eventually, she picked up her phone, tapped on WhatsApp, and messaged Hubert. She asked him if he wanted to have lunch with him.
However, when she sent the message, the app reminded her that she and Hubert were no longer friends on WhatsApp. And Hubert couldn't receive the messages she sent. It also indicated she had to add Hubert as a friend first.
Teresa suddenly stared at that notification.
Weren't they friends on WhatsApp anymore?
Hubert was so mean! He had actually unfriended her on WhatsApp again!
This was the second time he unfriended her!
When they first got their marriage license, he unfriended her the first time because he felt they were not suitable for each other. And he even forgot she was his newly-wedded wife. Thus, she could understand why he unfriended her at that time.
However, Hubert unfriended her again this time because he firmly believed that she had done something wrong to him. He firmly believed that she was looking for a backup, so he unfriended her on WhatsApp.
At first, Teresa planned to back down and communicate with him. If there were any problems between them, they should resolve them in person. However, she didn't expect things to turn out this way. As a result, Teresa was pissed off.
She hadn't blacklisted and unfriended him, but he did it first.
Teresa thought, 'So what if Hubert has unfriended me? He doesn't scare me.'
In a fit of anger, Teresa also unfriended Hubert from her friend list on WhatsApp.
And she also blacklisted his phone number.
She was so pissed off!
"Teresa, you're looking bad. Did Hubert reply to you?"
Teresa stuffed her phone back into her pants pocket and said coldly, "Just ignore him. You just cook the food for the rest of us. Whether he eats it or not is up to him. Let him starve to death."
Gwendolyn stared at her.
Teresa explained glumly, "He unfriended me on WhatsApp. And I was so pissed off that I unfriended him too. And I also blacklisted him. Don't ever mention him to me again. Gwen, you'd better find a reliable man to be in a relationship with for a few years before you get married. Don't be like me. I have married a devil. Even though I've tried to be nice to him, I keep offending him."
Gwendolyn felt speechless.
Teresa got up and walked out of the cashier's. Then she picked up her nephew and said to Gwendolyn, "I'm in a bad mood. I'm taking Andy to the mall. I'm going to swipe the bank card he gave me. I want to max it out!"
Gwendolyn nodded and said, "Go ahead. I'll prepare the food."
Teresa carried Andy out of the store. After putting her nephew in the car, she drove away.
She intentionally picked the largest mall in the city. When she went inside, she picked out the expensive things to buy. Before she finished shopping at the mall, her shopping cart was piled with goods.
And Teresa wanted to push another shopping cart over and continue shopping. Considering that she was alone with her nephew, she couldn't lift those stuff if she bought too much, so she gave up.
Even so, when she checked out, the amount of money she had spent made her want to return everything. However, when she thought that Hubert had unfriended her on WhatsApp, she insisted on swiping the card.
Because she swiped the card Hubert had given her to pay for living expenses, Hubert's phone received an alert message.
Hubert was in a meeting. Almost everyone in the room had their cell phones silent, except for Hubert's. When he received the alert message, he picked up his phone on the desk and clicked on it to read the message.
Morgan, who was closest to him, noticed Hubert raise his eyebrows.
However, he looked calm.
Hubert put the phone down and continued the meeting.
Teresa had only spent a few thousand dollars, not even close to 10,000 dollars. And he didn't frown at it.
However, he couldn't help but wonder what Teresa had bought that would cost thousands of dollars all at once.
Although Hubert didn't care how much Teresa had spent, Teresa had always been very careful with spending money unless she bought furniture. Otherwise, she spent no more than 40 dollars a day.
Soon, Hubert did not continue to guess what Teresa had actually bought.
Anyway, since he had given her his bank card, he would let her spend it.
Although he was angry with her and had even unfriended her on WhatsApp, he didn't want to cut her spending.
In any case, he would be with her until the agreement expired and would not terminate it in advance. If he broke the agreement, he would have to pay her a large amount of money for breach of contract.
Ten minutes later, Hubert's phone received another message.
This time, Teresa had spent a total of more than 4,000 dollars.
Although the amount of money was still nothing for Hubert, he just wanted to know why Teresa suddenly spent so much money. Did she buy gold?
Or was she so angry because he unfriended her that she deliberately spent his money to buy stuff?
Hubert got it right.
The meeting came to an end ten minutes before he got off work. Then, Hubert dismissed the meeting.
Usually, he would leave the conference room first after the meeting. Only after that did the executives dare to walk out of the room. However, this time, Hubert was sitting in his chair. He was looking at something on his phone and did not leave the room first.
Everyone looked at each other. And no one dared to be the first to get up and leave the room.
It took a long time before Hubert realized something was wrong. He looked up and asked in a lower voice, "Don't you want to get off work?"
Everyone wanted to leave but didn't dare to move.
Finally, it was Chad who led the way out of the room.
Chad was the second son of the Donovan family. Since he took the lead in leaving the room, all the executives left the room one after another as if they had someone to rely on and guide them.
Morgan, however, did not leave.
As Hubert's special assistant, Morgan sat closest to Hubert in every meeting. Others may not have noticed the change in Hubert's look, but Morgan did.
When only the two of them were left in the conference room, Morgan asked with concern, "Mr. Donovan, what's wrong with you?"
Hubert put down his phone and leaned back. He looked at Morgan for a long time before saying, "I had a falling out with Teresa."
Morgan said, "... Why?"
Before Hubert could answer, Morgan continued, "I knew something was wrong with you. Ever since you had lunch on Saturday, you've been different. You've finally admitted that you and Teresa had a fight."
"Tell me why. Let me help you analyze it."
"There's nothing to analyze. I saw her having dinner with another man with my own eyes. I saw her smiling while picking up food for that man. I am her husband. Even though I'm her nominal husband, she doesn't even treat me that well."
Morgan said, "Did she cheat on you?"
"Emotionally."
Morgan parted his lips and tried to say something, but he didn't know how to comfort Hubert for a while.
Whether it was a man or a woman, if one found out that one's partner had cheated on him or her, anyone would be extremely angry and difficult to accept it. And one could become impulsive.
Hubert was the golden boy. He was used to being privileged and dominant. And he was used to everyone bowing down to him. However, Teresa betrayed him. Even though she had an emotional affair, it was a huge blow to Hubert.
Most importantly, his pride would not allow him to bear it!
