Chapter 132 Completely in Awe with Teresa
Morgan knocked on the president's office with a pile of documents near the end of the office hour.
Hubert looked up at him, and then got back to his work. After he had sat down, Hubert said to him, "What is your secretary for?"
"My secretary is pregnant. I am being considerate, and I don't want her to run around. Her husband will be angry with me if I make her tired, so I come by myself."
Morgan put the pile of documents in front of his friend.
"I've read it all. There is no problem. You just have to sign on it."
After Morgan put down the document, he got up and poured himself a glass of warm water, then sat down and drank it while looking at Hubert who was opposite him.
Hubert was very good-looking, even if he always wore a stern expression and a cold indifferent look, he could not hide his handsome appearance.
In this era where people were judged by their outer appearances, any young woman who had met him for a few times would easily miss him.
Perhaps there was a woman who was an exception, and that was the president's wife.
Morgan was really impressed by Teresa. In just over a month, the pot plant in the Donovan Group had been raised to buds, and it was about to bloom.
Teresa had not fallen in love with Hubert yet.
How did she keep herself from falling in love?
Hubert was very nice to her. Those admirers who had only met Hubert for a few times would remember him for years. For instance, Sophie Lisbon tried to pursue him after a few years.
Hubert treated Teresa so well that he had made some exceptions for her, but Teresa had not fallen in love with him. This is what made Morgan completely in awe with Teresa.
"What are you looking at?"
Hubert didn't lift his head, but he knew that his friend was staring at him.
"I'm looking at your handsome face. Hubert, you are really good-looking, but you're cold-hearted. If you are good-natured, people will think you are a woman. If you were a woman, I would do everything I could to make you be my wife."
Hubert opened the documents brought by Morgan, read it carefully, and made sure there was no problem before he signed.
"Is there a cocktail party in the evening?"
"Yes, do you want to join? If you go, the organizer would be happy for a month and boast about it for a decade."
The business cocktail party, which was being held at their company's hotel tonight, was not a high-class party. The guests were all middle management of big companies or bosses of small companies.
As a big boss, Hubert would not go to the cocktail party tonight.
Of course, Hubert could go if he wanted to.
"If you want to go, I'll ask Mr. Murphy to wait for you."
Mr. Murphy was a person in charge of a branch company. The organizer of the cocktail party sent an invitation letter to the Donovan Group, and Morgan arranged for Mr. Murphy to attend the party after he learnt more about it.
The branch that Mr. Murphy was in charge of was newly established, so he had to socialize to get more business.
Participating in business cocktail parties to make friends with more business owners would be beneficial no matter whether he could close a deal.
"I'm not going. I'm just asking."
Hubert rarely attended parties of the upper class, let alone business cocktail parties.
He just wanted to have a drink or two in the hotel.
"You've got an idea, otherwise you won't ask for no reason."
Hubert said lightly, "I want to have drinks."
He had his own room in the Watenll City Hotel. It was the presidential suite on the top floor.
In the past, he would stay in the hotel instead of going home if he socialized till late night.
"Do you want to come with me?"
Hubert 's residence, no matter where it was, always had a collection of fine wine.
"No, I'm afraid I'll get drunk again. If you're drunk, your wife will take care of you. But I'm single, and no one will take care of me even if I'm dying of drunkenness."
"You're making yourself sound so pitiful. You can go on a blind date too, and have a flash marriage to get a wife to take care of you."
Morgan laughed and said, "Having learnt a lesson from your experience, I should just wait patiently for my Miss Right to appear."
"My experience? There's nothing wrong with my experience!"
"Yes, yes, nothing is wrong. Your face had never relaxed in the past few days, and your work efficiency had greatly improved, but you made your subordinates suffer. These few days, more and more people in the office voluntarily work overtime and work until late night."
The Donovan Group never forced its employees to work overtime. Employees could even leave work early as long as they finished their work.
But employees work overtime automatically if they could not finish their work because work of the day could not be delayed until the next day.
Hubert was in a bad mood because he was having a cold war with his wife, so he devoted all his attention to work. He usually worked fast. Now that all his attention was devoted to work, his efficiency was even higher. He finished three days' work in one day.
So, his subordinates were suffering.
"Miss Clarke was so busy that she didn't even have time to drink a glass of water."
Hubert put down his pen.
"Did they complain to you?"
In the Donovan Group, Hubert the president was respected and feared by everyone. When people were unhappy about something, they only dared to complain to Morgan. Morgan was somewhat waem-hearted and unlike Hubert who was cold.
Moreover, Hubert trusted and thought very highly of Morgan, and they were good friends.
Telling Morgan anything was like letting Hubert know.
"No, they didn't. But I saw that. Hubert, listen to me, buy some gifts tonight to coax your wife."
Morgan thought silently: he couldn't stand Hubert being like this every day.
He would not have time to even take a breath.
Morgan held up the pot plant and looked at it while he spoke.
He knew that Teresa gave it to Hubert. Hubert placed it on his desk. Others didn't know the reason, so they just followed suit and bought it from Teresa. But Morgan knew the reason: Hubert had taken Teresa to his heart.
Of course, Hubert would not admit it.
Morgan did not want Hubert to admit too soon that he had fallen in love with Teresa. He enjoyed watching Hubert being awkward. L
Hubert: He had made a bad friend!
"Since you have so much free time, I would like to ask you a favor to check something out."
Morgan refused immediately, "I'm very busy, really. I'm not free at all. What's the matter?"
He was really a busybody.
"Find out about Patrick Cerone from Thurman Electronics for me. He is a manager in Thurman who has the trust of the boss."
"Why, you want to employ him? No, his name sounds familiar, it seems... oh yeah, it's your wife's brother-in-law."
Morgan had a good memory and remembered it all at once.
Hubert always asked him to investigate whatever he wanted to know, so he knew a lot even though he didn't want to.
There was no other way. He knew everything.
"Yes, it's him. I suspect he has cheated. Get someone to collect the evidence of his cheating for me. Don't let too many people know about this. I'm not very sure."
