Chapter 140 Andy
Teresa said with an embarrassed smile, "I will definitely ask for your help the next time I encounter something I can't solve."
She did not ask him for help with the problems she could solve because she did not want to owe him a favor easily.
Hubert asked, "Is there any problem you can't solve?"
Teresa giggled, "Yes, there are many although I can't think of one now. Mr. Donovan, why don't you go to do your work?"
After watching her in silence for a while, he said indifferently, "Fine! I will go back to the company to work now. When do you plan to close the store tonight? I'll come and go home together with you. I'm afraid those shameless people will stop your car again."
"Don't worry. Troy did such a thing because he is young and impulsive. After suffering such a loss, they dare not do it again. Although they look aggressive, they are actually very timid. You just need to focus on your work. Don't worry about me. I will close the door late at night and may go to Leila's place before going home."
Essentially, Teresa just didn't want to go home with him.
"Is Leila still looking for a job? How's it going on?"
Hubert didn't tell Teresa about Patrick's love affair. He had asked Morgan to investigate. But Morgan had not given him the result yet. When things were still unclear, he would not say anything. If it was a misunderstanding, he would damage Patrick and Leila's marriage after telling Teresa about it.
Hearing his question, Teresa showed a sad expression and said, "She goes out to look for a job every day but had not found one yet. I did not expect it is so hard for her to find a job."
Leila used to be a white-collar worker before marriage and had left the workplace for only about three years, but it was actually so difficult for her to return to the workplace.
Hubert said comfortingly, "Ask her to take her time. It's hard for everyone to find a satisfying job now."
"If she can't find one, I'll lend her money to start her own business. Maybe she can also open a store. In that case, she can take care of Andy while making money."
"That's a good idea."
Hubert also thought that it would be better for Leila to start her own business. After all, Andy was too young and needed her to accompany him and take care of him.
"I know. Hurry up and go to the company!"
"OK." Hubert left in depression after being driven away by his wife.
After he left, Teresa went back to the cashier's desk, sat down, took out her craft materials, and started making handicrafts.
After dinner, Leila went out, holding Andy with one arm and pushing the stroller with the other. Getting downstairs, she put him into the stroller and pushed him to outward the community, planning to buy some milk powder and diapers.
"Leila, where are you and Andy going?"
Along the way, all her acquaintances said hello to her and stopped their steps to amuse Andy.
Leila laughed, "We're going to buy milk powder and diapers."
Since she had run five blocks after her husband with a kitchen knife, she had become a celebrity nearby. Everyone had not expected her to do such a thing before. Leila was always smiling and looked good-tempered, but she had chased after her husband down five blocks with a kitchen knife. Although she had been resisting her husband's domestic violence, few women dared to do such a thing. So, she had become the topic of everyone in this neighborhood. However, when people met her, they were still polite. People in the community were more familiar with Leila and her sister, and they barely saw Patrick because he was in a hurry every time he came back and did not want to waste time chatting with neighbors.
Recently, Leila lost some weight because she was too tired when looking for a job. She knew that when she went to interviews, people disliked her because she was too fat and ugly. So, she decided to get up early and go out for a morning jog from tomorrow on. While looking for a job, she would insist on losing weight. Even Teresa had advised her to lose weight. And it was not only for looking good but also for her health. She was so fat that she had fatty liver. If the condition worsened, the fatty liver could turn into cirrhosis, and she didn't want that to happen.
After leaving the community, Leila pushed Andy toward the milk powder store. In the past, it was Teresa who helped her buy milk powder in passing because the walking distance was a little far. But today, Leila regarded it as going for a walk.
"Dad!" Andy suddenly said.
Leila quickly looked around but didn't see Patrick.
So, she asked, "Andy, did you see your dad?"
Andy pointed to a car parked on the side of the road and said "dad" again, meaning it was his dad's car. The car was indeed the same model as Patrick's, but the license plate number was not his.
She smiled, "Andy, it's not your dad's car. It's just the same model, but the license plate number is different. So, it's not his car."
Andy barely got along with his father but he could remember his car. Leila thought he must miss his father very much, so she asked, "Do you miss your father? I'll call Daddy and let you talk to him, okay?"
After Patrick moved back, he still went out early and returned late as before. Because Leila didn't cook for him anymore, he didn't come home for lunch at noon but just ate out. Leila didn't bother to care. Domestic violence had left a scar on her mind. She didn't think she was wrong. Neither did Patrick. And he would never apologize to her or admit his mistake. Anyway, they didn't love each other anymore although they stayed married. But no matter how bad their relationship was, Patrick was Andy's father.
"OK," Andy responded obediently.
Leila took out her mobile phone from the bag on the stroller. Every time she went out, she was used to putting her mobile phone in that bag, which was convenient.
After she dialed his number, she waited for a long time before he answered the call.
"What's the matter?" Patrick asked in an impatient tone.
He was now attending a business party with Isabelle in the Waternll City Hotel. And there were many business elites and executives of various companies at the venue.
Hearing this impatient tone, Leila quickly said, "Andy misses you." And then, she handed the phone to Andy so that he could talk to his father.
Andy took the phone over and said cutely, "Dad."
Patrick was vicious to Leila but very gentle to his son. He said something to Andy on the phone and did not care whether he could understand it. After only two minutes, he said, "Andy, I must work now. When I make money, I'll buy toys for you."
"Not for Barry," Andy said without thinking.
Patrick froze for a while before he realized that Andy was referring to Priscila's son. His nephew often snatched Andy's toys, so he was holding grudges.
Patrick smiled, "Okay, I will only buy toys for you, not for Barry. Andy, give the phone to your mom. I want to have a word with her."
Hearing this, Andy obediently returned the phone to Leila.
