Chapter 209 The Best Boss in the World
"She's overweight. I order her to run five laps in the small park in front of the office building before she goes to work every day. She is not allowed to go to work if she doesn't finish the run. I'm forcing her to lose weight. I don't think she'll lose too much weight within a month. And that's why I gave her a three-month trial period."
Hubert was speechless.
Dean was so nosy.
In addition to offering Leila a job, Dean was even concerned about Leila's appearance and the shape of her body.
Dean was literally the best boss in the world.
"Dean, one month. You give her a raise after the one-month trial period. If you don't think she's worth the salary, I'll transfer the extra money to you in private."

Hubert said in a deep voice, "Although a few hundred dollars is nothing to you, it's a lot of money to a normal person. Leila is getting ready for a divorce. And she's going to fight for custody of her son. So she has to have a steady job and income. It would be good for her to get custody of her son."
"She used to be the finance director at Thurman Electronics, so she's definitely capable. Now she's just a clerk. That does seem a bit beneath her. So it won't sound ridiculous if you give her a raise after the probationary period. And I'm not short of that little money. And you don't have to transfer money to me."
Dean wasn't as gossipy as Morgan. And he knew how to catch his drift. He wasn't surprised when he heard Hubert call Leila his sister.
Leila was Teresa's sister, and Teresa was Hubert's wife. So it was only natural for Hubert and Teresa to call Leila their sister.
"Dean, thank you."
"Don't mention it. Leila is now an employee of my company. She works for me. I must be the one paying her salary. Is she getting a divorce?"
"Her husband cheated on her."
Dean was not surprised and said, "I've run into her twice before. She was always walking down the street alone with her son. When I met her for the second time, she had bought so many things. And she made a phone call to her husband, but he didn't come to pick her up. Then I realized that something must be wrong with her husband."
If a couple had been in a good relationship, the husband would have rushed to pick up his wife and children when he knew his wife had bought so many things and had their children with her.
"Hubert, don't worry. She works for my company. I won't kick her out as long as she doesn't quit her job."
"I'm relieved to see her working at your company. I'm going to hold a meeting. I'll invite you to my home for dinner and try my wife's cooking when I'm free. She can make delicious homemade dishes."

Dean teased Hubert.
He had seen Teresa last time, but he had only seen her back.
He was curious to see if Teresa was as gorgeous as she was to make Hubert fall for him in just two months.
Hubert chuckled and didn't say another word. Then he hung up the phone with Dean.

"Are you going to divorce Leila?"
Paul glared at his son, who had come home on leave, and said, "Didn't I tell you that you were going to stay with her for Andy's sake?"
Patrick bowed his head and smoked a cigarette.
Penny came over and sat beside her husband with Barry in her arms. Then, she criticized her husband first, "Why are you talking so loud? Don't scare Barry."
Then, Penny asked her son in a softened voice, "Patrick, why did you file for divorce from Leila? Did the two of you fight again? Did Leila still go to you and make a scene because of what happened yesterday?"
"Is Andy okay?"
Penny was a little concerned about Andy when she came back from Leila's apartment.
After Barry caught the flu, he disrupted everybody's life in the family. Since he kept having recurring fevers, the elders were worried about him.
Moreover, Andy was one year younger than Barry. If Andy got infected, Penny didn't know what Leila would do to them.
"I didn't go home. I didn't see Andy. He should be fine. I saw Leila around the neighborhood. And she went to work as usual."
Leila had beaten both him and Isabelle after making a scene, but she had managed to go to work as if nothing had happened.
He seemed to be alright. However, Isabelle was still in the hotel and was afraid to go out to see anyone. And there were still finger marks on her face.
After Leila and Teresa left the hotel room that day, Isabelle hugged Patrick as she cried for a long time. She said that she had suffered such humiliation because of him. Her sobs made Patrick care more about her and strengthened his determination to divorce Leila.
"That's good. I'm relieved, too. Andy is my grandson, anyway. How could his mother be so cold-hearted? How could she leave such a young child alone at home and go to work?"
Penny blamed it all on Leila.
"Patrick, can you tell me why you want to divorce her now?"
After taking a few puffs of his cigarette, Patrick looked up at his parents and said, "Isabelle and I spent the night at the hotel last night. Then, Leila made a phone call to me. Isabelle thought that Leila had something urgent to say, so she answered the phone for me."
"Leila actually came to the hotel. And she had her sister with her. Then they both caught me and Isabelle..."
"Isabelle was beaten brutally by Leila. She's still in the hotel. And she's afraid to go out and see people. Mom, I don't want to live with Leila anymore. I don't want to live a single day with her. I want to divorce her!"
Paul and Penny were speechless.
Paul suddenly stood up and slapped Patrick across the face.
Patrick didn't expect his father to slap him hard.
"Honey, what the hell are you doing?"
Penny quickly put Barry down. Then, she stood up and grabbed her husband's arm to stop him from slapping Patrick. She said, "Patrick said he didn't love Leila anymore last time. He hasn't divorced her just for Andy's sake. Look at Leila! She is no longer good enough for Patrick."
"He betrayed his family. And I'm going to teach him a lesson. Did I do something wrong?"
Paul said angrily, "If you file for divorce from Leila now, what are you going to do with my grandson Andy?"
The reason Paul slapped his son was not to blame him for cheating on his wife and betraying his family and marriage. He was angry that his son was in such a hurry to file for divorce from Leila without considering his grandson.
"Andy will definitely stay with me. He is my son. And Leila is not capable of raising Andy. Dad, don't worry. I won't let you lose your grandson. If you and my mom don't want to live with me, I'll send Andy back to our hometown. Since you are raising Barry, you can raise Andy, too. And they can keep each other company as cousins."
"When Andy is old enough to go to kindergarten, he can go to the same kindergarten as Barry. Dad, Mom, you don't have to worry. There's no way Leila can get custody of Andy."
Even though Leila had a job now, she had only been working for a few days and hadn't even been paid yet. Therefore, she could not compete against Patrick.
Moreover, Patrick had already asked someone to help him inquire about Leila's job at the LaRoche Group. He would have Leila make mistakes at work and lose her job.
Although Teresa would help her sister, she could not replace Leila to fight for Andy's custody.
Therefore, Patrick was not worried at all that Andy's custody would fall into Leila's hands.
Even if he did not have the heart and time to discipline and raise his son, he would rather send his son to his hometown and let his parents raise him. And he would never let Leila take away his son.
