Chapter 216 Where to Sleep
In Teresa's room, Teresa was helping Vivian get all the things out of her suitcase. Vivian even brought the cup she used at home.
"Grandma, what's wrong? Why are you moving out of your house?"
"Ah, don't mention this. It's all because of my ungrateful children and grandchildren. They make me worry about them every day. But they don't appreciate what I have done. So, I just let go of them and come to live with you for a while. Out of sight, out of mind."
After Teresa helped Vivian put her stuff in place, she went into the bathroom to run her a bath. Later, she called out, "Grandma, your bath is ready. Come in and take a hot bath."
Vivian responded and soon came in with her pajamas. "You see why I want a daughter or granddaughter all the time. Girls are so sweet. You see, since you guys came back and saw me, Hubert hasn't even said something nice to me. Tess, you are better than him. You are sweet and considerate."
Teresa laughed, "Grandma, when you set me up with Hubert, you said that Hubert was attentive and thoughtful. Grandma, kids will have their own roads. You don't have to be too worried about them. You should enjoy your retirement and stop worrying so much."
As far as she was concerned, Vivian's sons and daughters-in-law were all very filial.
"I want to stop worrying. But I can't. Did I mention Hubert is attentive and considerate? Have you felt his attentiveness and thoughtfulness? Am I right?"
Teresa beamed but didn't say anything.
When Hubert cared about someone, he was really attentive and considerate.
'Actually, it is not Hubert's exclusive advantage. Everyone is like that. When you care about someone, you will always be considerate of her. How can you not be considerate and attentive? ' Teresa thought to herself.
Vivian took a shower and then laid down on Teresa's bed.
When Teresa came out of the bathroom, Vivian had fallen asleep.
But...
Vivian snored. And her snoring was so loud.
Teresa was so helpless...
She could sleep soundly even when there was thunder and lightning if she was drunk. Otherwise, she would toss and turn when there was a tiny bit of noise.
With a sigh, Teresa resigned herself and went into her bed. Then, she lay down next to Vivian.
There were two pillows in her bed. However, she only had one quilt. Not only did Vivian snore, but she also took most of the quilt and left only a corner for Teresa to cover.
Listening to Vivian's snoring, Teresa couldn't help but plug her ears. But it was uncomfortable.
After trying to sleep for about ten minutes, she couldn't stand it and slid out of bed with her pillow. She wanted to take the quilt away. But seeing Vivian have already rolled herself up with the quilt, she couldn't take it away either. And the temperature at night and dawn was a little chilly, so if she didn't sleep with the quilt, she would catch a cold.
If Teresa made her grandmother-in-law catch a cold on her first night here, Teresa would not be able to live with her conscience, not to mention that her in-laws would accuse her.
Teresa gave up the quilt and got a thick jacket from the closet. Then, with her pillow in her arms, she left her room.
It was dark outside her room.
Without turning on the light, she turned directly to Linda's door, knocking and asking lightly, "Ms. Lawson, are you asleep?"
Linda was not asleep. But she did not answer Teresa. And when Teresa knocked and spoke, she pulled up the quilt to cover her head, thinking, 'I'm asleep. I can't hear you.'
"Ms. Lawson."
Teresa couldn't wake up Linda, who was pretending to be asleep. She tried to twist the door handle to open the door. However, she found that Ms. Lawson had locked the door from the inside. She couldn't open the door even if she went to get the spare key to this room.
Ms. Lawson's room was inaccessible, and Vivian was snoring in her room.
Teresa stood in silence for a moment, and then helplessly went to the couch and sat down on it. Eventually, she laid down on the couch and covered herself with her thick jacket. Just like that, she was going to sleep there.
It may be that God was cooperating with Vivian's plan. It was raining.
It was already chilly at night. The rain made the night even colder.
The thick jacket could only cover Teresa's upper part. It was not long enough to cover her feet. Feeling so cold at her feet, she could not sleep.
Teresa got up from the couch and was going back to her room to get a pair of socks to put on. Then she would go back to sleep on the couch after that.
But a door suddenly opened when she had just taken a few steps.
It wasn't her door. It was Hubert's door.
He was wearing a warm robe and came out with a glass, looking like he wanted to get some water.
The couple faced each other.
He looked at her while she looked at him...
Hubert turned on the light casually and asked Teresa, "Still awake?"
Teresa whispered with a little embarrassment, "Hubert, your grandmother snores in her sleep. It's quite loud. The noise makes me unable to sleep."
Hubert went to her door, opened it, and took a look inside. He did hear his grandmother's loud snoring, which he knew was fake. He silently closed the door and turned around to ask Teresa, "So where are you going to sleep?"
"I wanted to share a room with Ms. Lawson, but she was asleep and I couldn't wake her up. And her door was locked, so I couldn't get in. Then I had to sleep on the couch."
Hubert went to pour water for himself.
He saw a pillow and a jacket on the couch.
"Tonight is cold. And it's raining. I feel cold at my feet and couldn't get to sleep, so I'm going to go back to my room and get a pair of socks. Tomorrow, we should go to the mall and buy more quilts. Also, we should buy a bed for the empty guest room."
At first, they were the only two in this house. When Linda arrived, they only bought a bed and a cabinet for Linda's room. Well, tonight, she, the wife of this family, had no place to sleep.
"Don't you have water in your room?"
Teresa asked casually. When she cleaned his face, she found that he had everything he needed in his room.
Hubert said calmly, "The water in my room is not boiled yet."
Teresa, "Oh."
She returned to the couch and sat down, watching him pour a glass of water, then turned around to walk back toward his room.
"Hubert."
Hubert, who had already reached the door of his room, heard her voice and paused. He turned his head to look at her with his dark eyes. His stare was like a hawk'. Pursing his thin lips, he waited for her to go on.
"Emm... Is there an extra quilt in your room?"
"No."
"Well... Can you borrow me your bed sheet for one night?"
"No."
Teresa, "... Are you a man? Don't you see your wife has no place to sleep and no blanket to cover herself?"
Hubert walked over.
He put his glass on the coffee table. Then he leaned to Teresa and locked her by putting his hands on the couch. He didn't press on her, but he did that to give her a sense of pressure.
When he pressed over like this, his robe revealed a lot. And Teresa took a peek inside his robe.
"Well... Am I a man? Why don't you have a try and make a conclusion by yourself?"
Teresa immediately withdrew her eyes and looked up at Hubert. After a few seconds, she smiled awkwardly, "I... I just got angry. I was talking nonsense. You're a man. You are a real man."
If he was not a real man, then she would ask him if he was sexually impotent.
Teresa was too timid to say something like that.
A man hated the most when people question him about his sexual function.
