Chapter 27 Grandma Assisted Perfectly
The store was not busy on weekends, and there was little business throughout the day, so it was fine not to open the door.
Teresa went to the store because it was quiet, and she was able to do the handicrafts in her online store.
Gwendolyn also showed up.
Seeing Teresa in the store, Gwendolyn was surprised to ask her, "Tess, it's Sunday, why did you come over too? You normally take your nephew to the park to play."
"It's time to update my online store with some new products."
While knitting her goods, Teresa looked up at her good friend and smiled, "What about you?"
"Don't mention it. I couldn't stand my mother's nagging any longer, so I come to the store."
"How did auntie nag about you again?"
"It's because we attended a banquet that night and I didn't bring back a wealthy man. My mom thought it was simple. She didn't consider my condition and thought I am the most beautiful girl in the world."
Teresa chuckled.
Most parents in the world were like this, as soon as their children reached the age of getting married, they began to worry about their children's marriage.
Twenty-five years old was indeed old in the old days of early marriage, but it was very young in this era.
"My mother asked my aunt to introduce me to a boyfriend again. She told me to go to a coffee shop for a blind date tonight, and it would last until dawn if I had a cup of coffee."
"How about you accompany me on a blind date tonight, Tess?"
Teresa shook her head, "No."
"Tess, please. We're besties, and you're the most loyal ones, who are willing to sacrifice for a friend."
"I'm not. Go and find someone else."
Gwendolyn coaxed, "After meeting with the guy, I'll treat you a supper."
"I have money and I can eat supper on my own, there's no need for you to treat me."
Teresa did not want to accompany her best friend to the blind date because she was afraid that the blind date would choose her.
She had heard of someone accompanying the husband's younger sister on a blind date but ended up the date preferred the sister-in-law. The younger sister was so angry that it affected their relationship. She and Gwen were best friends who would share everything, but there were some things they could not do.
It was different at the banquet where she accompanied Gwen, the banquet was attended by successful people who would despise them, so she did not have pressure mentally.
"Tess."
When they heard a familiar voice, they turned to face the store's entrance.
Teresa stopped her work immediately, got up, and walked out, smiling, "Grandma, why are you here?"
"I came because I wanted to talk to you. I went to your house and Hubert said you weren't home, so I came over to look for you."
Mrs. Donovan looked at Teresa with loving eyes. After entering the store, she asked, "I heard from you before that you don't need to open the store on weekends."
"Grandma, my online store hasn't had any new products for a while, and the ones in stock are almost sold out, so I'm going to use my spare time on weekends to make some new goods."
The little things she knitted were sold online, and the sales were quite good. New products would be added every once in a while, and some customers would also make reservations in advance. When she received an order, she had to deliver it to the customer within the promised time.
The commitment was critical in business operations.
"Tess, you're handy."
Mrs. Donovan had received a lot of handicrafts woven by copper wire from Teresa, that looked exactly like the real ones. She deliberately placed them in the most conspicuous place in the house, even though they were not valuable, but they were from her granddaughter-in-law.
When a visitor came to visit and saw those crafts, they would also praise Teresa, so Mrs. Donovan took the opportunity to help Teresa to promote it, and those people would go to Teresa's store to buy some crafts, thus improving the sales of Teresa's online store.
"Mrs. Donovan, drink some water."
Gwendolyn poured a glass of water for Mrs. Donovan.
"Thank you, Gwen, you are also here today."
"Uh, it's because I was urged by my mother to get married, so I hid in the store to be quiet. They always arrange blind dates for me, making me feel like a slow-selling product. I'm going to Xena Coffee Shop again tonight for a blind date, so I was begging Teresa to accompany me."
The old lady's eyes twinkled, and she said with a smile on her face, "I can understand your mother, I'm also worried about the marriages of my other grandchildren, and I can't get them to go on a blind date, none of them are willing to go when I asked them to go."
"Teresa, why don't you accompany Gwen tonight?"
Teresa, "......"
The old lady persuaded her to accompany Gwen to the blind date.
"You and Gwen are good friends. It is also good for you to accompany her on a blind date and help her in keeping an eye on things. After all, you are experienced."
Gwendolyn nodded vigorously and thought that the old lady perfectly assisted her.
"Tess, just accompany me. It's fine if you can't go with me but please help me to persuade my mother to stop arranging blind dates for me."
Gwendolyn pouted to Teresa.
The old lady was aiding and abetting. Teresa finally said helplessly to be quiet, "Just this once, and no next time!"
"Alright, I know you're the best," said Gwendolyn.
After Gwendolyn successfully coaxed her best friend to accompany her on a blind date, she said thoughtfully, "Mrs. Donovan, talk to Tess while I go out to buy something," allowing them to talk about something intimate.
After Gwendolyn left, Mrs. Donovan took out a piece of paper and handed it to Teresa.
"Grandma, what is this? A love letter that was written to me?"
Mrs. Donovan laughed, "Haha, this is Hubert's lifestyle habits. Take a look at it, it will help you to improve your relationship. Tess, although you are not close to Hubert, your relationship with him can be improved. Both of you need to let go of your guards and understand each other with your heart, I believe both of you will be attracted to each other."
Teresa opened the paper to read it, thinking that Hubert had her sign an agreement to divorce after six months, so she did not bother to waste her time on improving their relationship.
She did not guard against Hubert, but Hubert did, even if he did not treat her too badly.
"Hubert might lose his temper when he wakes up and he is a little clean freak. Other than this, he's quite good. "Since the old lady contributed to the marriage of her eldest grandson, she worked very hard and hoped that the young couple could improve their relationship through their daily life and stay together until they were old.
Teresa was stunned for a while, "He might get angry when he wakes up?"
"Um, unless he wakes up naturally, anyone who calls or knocks on the door to wake him up will be unlucky, even I don't dare to wake him up."
Teresa thought of the several times she called Hubert early in the morning and woke him up, but he did not seem to be angry.
Was the old lady telling the truth? Or was it because Hubert kept it to himself when the two were newlyweds?
"Tess, did you two ...... last night?"
Teresa understood what was meant by Mrs. Donovan when she blinked at her. Teresa blushed slightly and said, "Grandma, I'm a girl, you asked me to jump on a big man, which I simply cannot do."
That man was indeed Hubert.
