Chapter 26 Hubert Was Drunk
Teresa took the pen, got up, and walked to the balcony railing. Then, she signed her name on the agreement on the brick platform.
Hubert brought the ink pad and asked her to put her fingerprints on it.
The agreement was in duplicate, and both of them kept a copy.
Teresa folded the agreement casually and put it into the pocket of her pants.
Hubert saw her act like she did not care, and he suddenly felt a little distressed, but he could not say anything. After all, he was the one who wrote the agreement, most of the requirements on the agreement were directed at her, and she did not even add one to it.
"You've been tired today. Rest early."
"You too."
Teresa said with a smile, "I'll sit here for a while and enjoy the flowers. I've always dreamed of having a garden-like large balcony, and now that my dream has come true, I can't get enough of looking at it."
She did not seem to take the agreement to heart at all.
Did she really have no other purpose in marrying him? Was he just being paranoid?
Otherwise, how could she be unaffected, not angry, and still smiling?
Hubert looked at her quietly for a moment, then turned around and left.
Soon, he took the car keys and went out.
Teresa asked casually from the balcony, "Mr. Donovan, are you going out?"
"Yes, don't wait for me. Just leave the door unlocked."
Teresa smiled, "I haven't waited for you either."
Hubert froze as he felt her reply was like a slap in the face to him.
Hubert went out in embarrassment.
He went to the LaRoche family to drink with Dean, but he was depressed because of Teresa.
Teresa should have been the one who was embarrassed and upset, but she didn't seem to care. Instead, he was upset. Probably because it was the first time he had been treated with such contempt.
Yes, Teresa did not care how harsh his agreement was, because she did not care about him.
He was so handsome, but she never thought of falling in love with him.
He had a good figure, but she had never wanted to seduce him and have sex with him.
Uh?
What was he complaining about?
He should be relieved that she was so sensible. At least, she would not be the kind of shameless woman who would pester him.
Hubert comforted himself and then drank a lot of wine at Dean's place, which was primarily because all the wine Dean brought out was good. In the end, Hubert was even drunk.
He was a very good drinker, but he was also drunk, which showed that he had drunk a lot of wine and that good wine had a strong delayed effect.
Dean was drunker than Hubert. Hubert could still walk on his own, while Dean was lying directly on the ground.
Finally, Hubert was picked up by the bodyguard.
On the way, the bodyguard asked the young master who was drunk but not asleep, "Young master, where are we going back?"
"Flo, Florence Garden."
He had just met her parents today and could not stay out overnight.
No matter what, he had to show Teresa the respect that she deserved as his wife.
The bodyguards then sent Hubert back to the Florence Garden.
Although Hubert was still able to walk, the bodyguard was concerned, so he helped him upstairs.
"Young master, should I wake up Miss Heller?"
The bodyguard asked this question because it was late at night and Teresa should have been asleep.
Hubert searched his body, wanted to take out the key to open the door, and said instinctively, "No need."
They were a couple in name only. He did not want her to take care of him even if he was drunk. Who knew if she would take advantage of him while he was drunk?
He was indeed 30 years old, but he still had his first kiss, much less had sex with a girl.
He never expected love.
Grandmother always scolded him for being a heartless man who did not understand love affairs, but it was also because he did not expect love that he married Teresa under the repeated lobbying of his grandmother, to make her happy and stop nagging.
After searching all over, Hubert could not find the key to the house, "... Steven, wake Miss Heller up."
He forgot to take the key when he went out.
The bodyguard knocked on the door immediately.
Teresa was asleep, but she had a light sleep and heard a knock at the door. She listened quietly and found that someone was really knocking on the door. Then she hurriedly got up to open the door, but remembered that she was still in her pajamas, so she took a thick coat from the closet, put it on, and went out to open the door.
When the door was opened, Hubert and Steven were stunned when they saw Teresa wearing a thick winter coat.
It was October, and it would be a little cool in the morning and evening, but it was still hot during the day.
There was no need to put on a winter coat.
"Good evening, I'm a driver. Your husband is drunk, and I send him here."
Steven reacted quickly and lied first, and then handed Hubert and the car key to Teresa.
Teresa felt a heavy weight pressing down on her instantly!
"Thank you, sir."
Teresa thanked Steven, and Steven said it was his pleasure. He took a glance at the young master, and then slipped away hurriedly.
After closing the door and relocking it, Teresa supported Hubert, who was sluggish to walk inside, and said with disgust, "Why are you drinking so much alcohol? You reek of alcohol."
Hubert did not speak but complained in his heart, "It's all because of you!"
Teresa threw the car keys on the coffee table, helped Hubert to the door of his room, then let go of her hand and said, "It's mentioned in your agreement that your room is my forbidden area, so I won't go in. You go in by yourself. Take a shower when you wake up tomorrow. Now you're so drunk, I'm afraid you'll drown yourself in the bathtub if you take a shower now."
Hubert opened the door room on his own, then stumbled inside. He stopped after a few steps, then turned around slowly and said to Teresa, "... you, don't you know when the weather is hot... it can kill someone, and you are still wearing such a thick coat. "
He thought he was so drunk that his eyesight became poor.
"I didn't have time to change my clothes, so I put on a coat and came out to open the door for you."
Teresa explained and helped him to close the door.
With a bang, the door separated them.
When Teresa returned to her room, she could not wait to take off her coat and muttered, "The heat is killing me."
Hubert was silent for a moment after she left and then stumbled back to the bed and slumped headfirst into it. He insisted on returning to his room before he was relieved to fall into a deep sleep.
Soon after, Hubert slept soundly.
The next day, it was already noon when he woke up.
He did not turn on the air conditioning last night and slept like that for a night. He awoke with the smell of alcohol and sweat on his body. He was a bit of a clean freak, so he could not bear the smell and rushed into the bathroom and vomited.
Then, he quickly took a shower.
When he came out of the bathroom, he was refreshed and had returned to normal.
When Hubert thought about what happened last night when he was drunk, he swore that he would never get drunk in the future.
Fortunately, he signed an agreement with Teresa before he went out. She did not take advantage of him while he was drunk, and she kept her word.
He was unsure whether it was right or wrong for him to write such an agreement, but since it had been signed, let it be so.
Once Hubert calmed down, he felt hungry.
He walked out of the room, expecting a hot, home-cooked meal to await him. But Teresa only left him a note at the table, telling him that she had gone back to the store and that he would have to cook by himself.
Hubert pinched the paper...
