Chapter 19

Chapter 19
As the saying goes, when three women clump together, they could form a play. When Diana Swift, Bonnie Smith and Betty Miller gathered together, they might play a drama about the spy war of the Chinese Republic which presented deep affection among sisters.
Mandy Lee didn't set out yet on the other side of the ocean, but Bonnie Smith and Betty Miller had already prepared the questions for the interview to make things difficult for her clearly.
Since Bonnie Smith only knew Mandy Lee unilaterally through Diana Swift's occasional words, and Mandy Lee theoretically might not know that Bonnie Smith was Diana Swift's close friend. So, Betty Miller also asked Bonnie Smith to sneak into the enemy's interior to fish for the real intention and reserve actions of Mandy Lee's returning to her country which seemed like the scene in spy war movie.
It was just that this scene was too difficult to perform and there was a risk of overturning on the spot. So, Diana Swift and Bonnie Smith both disagreed.
While the three of them were frantically dissing Mandy Lee, fake heroine as wicked supporting actresses, the cover shooting came to an end unknowingly.
At the end of the shooting, a female star sucked some water with a straw, then leaned over to the camera to watch the photos, and chatted with the photographer.
When looking back, she saw Bonnie Smith and Diana Swift, and then she smiled and went up to greet the two and Betty Miller, who did not know her.
This female star, called Page Mill was a bit of a smoothie and had a high emotional quotient.
She had extensive connections in the fashion circle. And she was a little personally acquainted with Bonnie Smith, and occasionally met Diana Swift at the show banquet.
Diana Swift had a good impression of her. Although they were not in the same circle, they could have a chat.
While chatting, Page Mill remembered something, "Oh, by the way, Diana, did you study interior design in college? I heard that Chris Chou's M City show past two years was your work. That's fantastic and I still remember it."
If someone praised her for her sole presentable work since graduation, Diana Swift was naturally very pleased.
But in order to show the indifferent attitude of being used to being praised every day, she just chuckled twice in disapproval, and answered in modesty and humility.
Page Mill added, "By the way, I have a friend who is a variety show producer on X City TV Station. He is planning a variety show that focuses on space design recently, called 'The Designer', which is probably a form of an amateur designer and a star working and designing together."
"One of the people they had invited before was a beautiful woman designer, but now she couldn't come because of some problems. So, the show team plans to find someone to substitute for her. I think you're perfectly competent. But I don't know whether you have an interest in this?"
Diana Swift asked, "A variety show of space design? Me?"
"Yes, Diana. You are so capable and your appearance is also good. There must be no problem for you."
Page Mill smiled sweetly with sincere eyes.
Bonnie Smith and Betty Miller had nothing to say.
They regreted that they only praised Diana's beauty but forgot to praise her ability and inner charm. This kind of flatteries made them feel a complete defeat.
The two looked at each other, and read the meaning of introspection from each other's eyes.
Page Mill was still lobbying with high praise. Every sentence was just right to hit Diana Swift and it would not appear to be too flattering.
And Page Mill's eyes were really pretty which made her look very sincere when talking to people. With this ability, it seemed that some people might believe her if she was full of crap. She would definitely be the annual sales champion if she sold health care products.
Diana Swift who hadn't heard others praise her so well for a long time was a little smug. But she had experienced life and had more sense than to agree as soon as someone praised her.
In fact, their circle is very close to the entertainment coterie, and it was relatively easy for them to make a debut as a star.
In the past, the family members were relatively conservative, and they looked down on the actors. So, they absolutely did not allow their children to make public appearances.
But the times had long since changed. In recent years, a large amount of capital had poured into the entertainment industry. Many actors had also begun to play the game of capital operation and they played well. And some of them seemed to have the momentum of becoming new parvenu.
In today's material society, what a person with money and resources said counted. No one cared about someone who only put on a show of a distinguished ancestry. And what's more, P City had no real "old money" in tradition.
Seeing that Diana Swift didn't answer, Page Mill thought she was worried about being on camera, and said softly, "Nowadays, most of the shows have an amateur quota in variety shows. But there won't be too many scenes for amateurs. You can rest assured."
"I just think this show is very suitable for you. There will be other designers participating at that time, and you may be interested in it."
"You can think about it firstly, and let me know at any time if you are interested in it." She turned her head and beckoned to her scandal boyfriend, "Scott Rice, come over here."
Scott Rice was a relatively well-known handsome young actor in the past two years, and he was also the only actor who had scandals but still had flows of fans. His official age was 24, but actually he was 26. However, he looked clean and had a temperament as the sunny boy next door which seemed to be completely immature.
Scott Rice walked towards them while drinking water.
When he approached, Page Mill introduced Scott Rice to Diana Swift, "This is my friend, Scott Rice, he will also participate in the 'The Designer' show. You can get to know each other. Maybe there will be opportunities to cooperate in the future."
Then he introduced to Scott Rice, "This is Miss Swift, Diana Swift, a very excellent interior designer."
Scott Rice smiled and reached out to Diana Swift, "Hi, I'm Scott Rice."
"Nice to meet you. I'm Diana Swift."

Scott Rice was very polite, and he only shook hands with her gently for a very short time. After shaking hands, he even greeted Bonnie Smith and Betty Miller thoughtfully.
Since the two stars had announcements later, they didn't talk much. Before leaving, Diana Swift still gave Page Mill a reply, "I'll think about the show again and contact you after I've considered it."
Page Mill nodded happily.
-
At dusk, the setting sun spread all over the sky with different shades of color, revealing a touch of ambiguity and deep attachment.
Josh Hunter's car stopped at the "Zero Degree" magazine building on time and he waited downstairs.
Diana Swift who walked in high heels for a day was so tired. Once she got in the car, she asked, "What's for dinner?"
"Go home and cook." Josh Hunter answered.
"You cook?"
Josh Hunter glanced at her but didn't answer, with eyes which were asking, "Will you cook?"
Diana Swift was choked for two seconds, then rubbed her calves again, "What are you going to cook?"
"Fried bamboo shoots in soy sauce, blanched lettuce, and braised pork ribs."
Braised pork ribs?
Diana Swift seemed to be even more hungry.
Josh Hunter wasn't busy today. Before coming to pick up Diana Swift, he made a detour to the supermarket and asked Sam Rodriguez to go down to buy some vegetables. He also specifically exhorted Sam Rodriguez to buy tender ribs.
Being Back at Moonshadow Mansion, Diana Swift lay on the sofa and played on her mobile phone.
From time to time, she popped her head in and looked around to observe the progress of the braised pork ribs.
She had to admit that Josh Hunter had got a good brain. From childhood to adulthood, his learning ability was obviously better than others. After joining the group, he quickly showed his excellent working competence. And even when cooking meals at home, he seemed to be clean and skilled.
He was was slender and handsome at a distance, and as he stood in front of the Central Island Stage, it present a nice scene.
When approaching him, she could see that the cuffs of his shirt were folded upwards, stacking soft folds. His hands were long and thin, with clear phalanges, and the way he handled the ingredients was also dexterous and aesthetic, which delighted both the eye and the mind.
Diana Swift lived a relatively simple life. She felt very happy with food, drink and money.
The braised pork ribs were brought onto the table, looking good, smelling good and tasting good. She took a photo with great interest, added a food filter and posted it on the Moments, with the text "Pork ribs made by my husband/love".
--It could be said that after two years of crazily beautifying pictures by millions of retouchers, she finally savored a real public display of affection.
She was also in the right mood of eating. Although she was very reserved and picked up dishes in small pieces, her speed was not slow at all. Before she knew it, she ate out the whole plate of ribs by herself.
From the beginning to the end, she had never thought about the reason why Josh Hunter acted out of character today. He offered to pick her up, and after that, he took the initiative to go home and cook her favorite dish, braised pork ribs.
It wasn't until the two of them were watching a movie in the audio-visual hall at night and she was suppressed by Josh Hunter who wanted to get physical that Diana Swift vaguely understood the real purpose of Josh Hunter's attentiveness to her.
It was true that they hadn't had sex for a while.
For some reason, when she was kissed by Josh Hunter, Diana Swift felt that he was ascetic and sexy. Kisses were left densely on her cheek with warm breath making the root of her ear unconsciously turn red.
This feeling was quite strange.
In the past, Diana Swift did not reject Josh Hunter's closeness. He was a clean person and considered gentle. Anyway, close contact would not cause others any discomfort. It wasn't saying that how much she liked him or she wasn't able to stop even though she wanted to. They had sex every month, just like completing a couple's task and punching in.
But being with him this time, Diana Swift felt a little joyful and shy.
Especially when looking at the redness in his eyes, the joy and shyness seemed to be deepened unconsciously.
-
Moisture enshrouded the bathroom late at night.
Diana Swift was sore and tired. Clearly, she was not sleepy, but she kept yawning in Josh Hunter's arms with tears coming out.
Josh Hunter asked, "Are you sleepy?"
Diana Swift answered, "No."
It might be that close contact could strengthen the dependence on Josh Hunter and the attachment to him. What has been deeply buried in her mind for several days now occurred to her mind suddenly in fron t of Josh, so she poked Josh's larynx and asked him straight-mindedly, "Rein Garcia said that day, your ex-girlfriend is coming back. And today Bonnie Smith also told me that their magazine will hold an exclusive interview with your ex-girlfriend. What do you think?"
Josh Hunter asked, "Mandy Lee?"
Diana Swift answered sourly, which she wasn't aware of, "You still remember her name quite clearly."
Josh Hunter answered after a moment's pause, "I have no idea."
Diana Swift was not very satisfied with this answer. But if she insisted on forcing him to make strange guarantees, it seemed that she cared about him very much which would humble herself before him!
She thought about it for a while, and then emphasized with a lack of confidence, "You'd better not cheat in marriage. Anyway, if you dare to do that and let me know, I'll divorce you. Just wait and see."
Josh Hunter realized that he didn't like hearing the word "divorce" very much, so he answered an "Uh-huh" perfunctorily, not wanting to dwell on this topic.
After soaking for a while, he poured the water into the bathtub, then got up and wrapped Diana Swift with a thick and soft nightgown, and picked her up from the bathtub.
On the way back to the bed, Josh Hunter found that Diana Swift didn't look very happy with eyelashes down and the ties of the nightgown being played in her hands.
Somehow, after he put her down on the bed with one arm around her and the other on her ear again, suddenly he remembered the earlier topic and said, "you said that she was my ex-girlfriend. You should know that I'm not someone who likes to reminisce about the past."
