Chapter 4
Josh Hunter just chose his words casually. He was always busy with work. When he came out of Moonshadow Mansion, he left behind both his family and private affairs, not to mention reflecting on his words and taking care of the lady.
At two o'clock in the afternoon, there was a lot of traffic near the Financial Center in P City. The sun blazed overhead with the hot air blowing in the noon, scorching hot.
At work time after the lunch break, most of the white-collar workers walked back to the company in groups of three or two with take-out paper cups from nearby coffee shops.
Today was Friday, and everyone chatted and laughed about work gossip, being relaxed. Only two girls who worked in the Lux Hotel Group received the group notification. The smiles on their faces instantly faded away, and they hurried back to the company.
One girl's heels were too high for her to walk. She panted, "Why do they come so fast? Didn't they say they might not come today?"
The other girl could walk faster. She stopped and turned around to wait for her. Waving to her, she said "You also said it's just a possibility. If I can understand the minds of these people, then I'll go buy stocks blindly. Well, hurry up."
-
The Head Office of the Lux Hotel Group was located near the financial center. The two buildings were connected with a geometric split-level structure, tall and eye-catching.
At 2:15, the usually empty lobby on the first floor of the office building was filled with company management, who were arranged in two neat rows from low level to high level from outside to inside. The ones standing outside were the heads of the conference service group.
At 2:20, three black sedans drove into the building porch one after another.
The front Cadillac led the way and stopped in front of the Roman column on the right. The Bentley in the middle was domineering, stopping straight in the center.
A young man with glasses got out from the passenger seat of the Bentley. Buttoning his suit, he walked back, bent slightly, and opened the rear door respectfully.
Everyone held their breath with their eyes focused on the door, and a sudden nervousness took hold of them for no reason.
In the afternoon, the sun was extremely blazing, the road was hot and the leaves were green and bright. In the heat and noise of summer, there was distant silence zoomed by the telephoto camera slowly.
Josh Hunter got out of the car and stood straight slowly.
He was a slender and tall man with good features. He was born indifferent, looking young and noble from a distance.
Before everyone could return to their senses, the doors of the two cars in the front and rear also opened. There were six assistants, three men and three women, who wore professional suits and carried briefcases, following behind Josh Hunter obediently and keeping a distance of about half a meter.
Many group executives came to greet Josh Hunter today. However, there were also a few sophisticates who didn't show up deliberately, only to knock some sense into him.
A group of people walked in, keeping their expressions blank. When they entered the elevator, someone suddenly pushed the elevator button.
"Mr. Hunter, I'm Mr. Turner's secretary. You can call me Susan. Mr. Turner has been unwell recently and has been recuperating at home, so he couldn't come to receive you today." Secretary Susan looked thoughtful and attentive with a smile on her face, but she stood up straight. Although she said it in a soft tone, it was still the host's tone, and there was a superiority in her voice. "Mr. Turner also asked me to cater for you well. If there's anything that you want or want to see, let me know please."
The air was silent for a moment.
Sam Rodriguez stood on the side of the elevator, bent over slightly, and stretched out his right hand to lead the way for Josh Hunter.
When Josh Hunter got into the elevator, Sam Rodriguez turned around and said to Susan, "Mr. Turner is getting old, and illness is bound to come. Susan, please tell Mr. Turner to recuperate in peace. He can plant some flowers at home when he has time in the future. He doesn't have to worry about the affairs in the group."
"Mr. Hunter will take over the Lux Hotel Group in an all-around way as he comes back this time. Mr. Hunter will do his best to provide the high-quality retirement for people like Mr. Turner, who has made great contributions to the group."
The high-quality retirement?
Being stunned, Susan didn't speak for a moment.
But after Sam Rodriguez finished speaking, he didn't have any intention of waiting for her to answer. He adjusted his clothes and walked straight into the elevator. Standing behind Josh Hunter's side, he pressed the elevator button to the sixty-eighth floor.
The elevator door closed slowly. Josh Hunter stood in the center with a gentle and indifferent expression, never giving a look to Susan.
-
The group arrived at the chairman's office on the 68th floor, which had been idle for a long time.
One of the assistants affixed a temporary nameplate on the door quickly.
The other two assistants worked together to measure and record various data in the office, so as to arrange the tables and chairs used by Josh Hunter.
The chief assistant Sam Rodriguez opened the laptop, and an early prepared notice was issued to all employees through the intranet of the company-
"After research, the group leaders decided that Mr. Josh Hunter will be transferred from the former director of the overseas development department and the president of the Lux Hotel Group in A Country to the president of the Lux Hotel Group from today onwards. All departments should cooperate with all the arrangements about the transference of Mr. Josh Hunter positively. We hope that the Lux Hotel Group can reach a new level under the leadership of Mr. Josh Hunter."
The signature was Richard Hunter, the chairman of the board.
At the same time, there were sounds of new emails one after another from the computers in the office area -
When receiving this notification, all staff in the company were surprised.
-
"Is Mr. Richard Hunter really done for? Is that guy only twenty-seven? Twenty-seven or twenty-eight? He's too young."
After getting off work in the evening, a group of the marketing department in the Lux Hotel Group organized a departmental gathering.
Originally, everyone hoped to return to their private life at weekend. It was best for colleagues to pretend to be strangers without greeting each other when they meet on the road.
But today, because of Josh Hunter's appearance, all staff within the Lux Hotel Group became restless. After getting off work, many people gathered for a drink and gossip.
"What's wrong with being young? He graduated from Harvard, and he presided over the merger of the Sun Company at the age of 22. At that time, the merger made Vice-Director Mr. Bull angry, but he solved it quickly."

"I know he's amazing. Moonlight was also set up by him. However... I think he's too young to take over the group directly."
Another female colleague interjected: "I don't think he's too young. The problem is that he is too handsome. He looks like a star, so I always feel that he's unreliable."
Someone laughed, "Is it not good to be handsome? Is it possible that you would like to see Mr. Stock's face every day?"
Mr. Stock was the manager of the marketing department, and he was famous for his ugly appearance. Everyone joked about it from time to time in private.
At this moment, people in the private room also burst into laughter because of this sentence, and the atmosphere abruptly lightened.
"Then does he have a girlfriend? It's a pity not to have an office romance with such a handsome man." A female colleague teased at the same time.
The male colleague snorted with laughter lightly, and put her off mercilessly, "Girlfriend? He has already been married."
"Married?"
"Aw, man. I haven't heard of it."
"Who's his wife?"
"It's impossible to get married at such a young age."
Everyone babbled.
The gossip expert told the truth, "His wife is the daughter of the Swift family."
"What's the Swift family?"
"Just the Swift family of the Swift Group, which used to be the Harvest Technologies, the old brand of TI. I don't know if you have heard it. Its business scope has expanded largely now, including real estate and the Internet. You must know about Maple Property Company."
When it came to Maple Property Company, everyone was sharply hit by the full meaning of the situation.
-
"...Do you know that he asked me to go to the Potala Palace to worship God. Can you believe this is what a man said? I have never seen such a man in my life for more than 20 years. You even praised him. You know nothing about his meanness! I must have done something terrible in my former life...ahem! Ahem..."
In the Ginseng Private Hot Spring of Moonlight, Diana Swift, who was discussed by the staff of the Lux Hotel Group, was wrapped with a bath towel and complained frantically. She was choked because she spoke too fast. She held down the stones by the pool subconsciously and kept coughing.
Bonnie Smith listened to her abuse for a quarter of an hour, laughing hard. While handing her a tissue, she also took a tissue to wipe her own tears.
The temperature of the water in the hot tub was just 40 degrees, not that hot, but Diana Swift was so emotional that she felt breathless after staying in it for a while, "No, I can't do it."
She stood up, wrapping herself with a dry towel. Adjusting her hair, she walked along with the pool.
The Ginseng Private Hot Spring for Diana Swift was located in the deepest part of the Moonlight. There was a delicate pavilion around the hot tub, decorated by four carved Chinese palace lanterns in the penthouse and circled by an archaic screen. During the day, one could see green trees and beautiful flowers, but at night, the misty water and the warm yellow lights were intertwined. Both the two scenes were interesting.
The service staff standing outside the screen heard the movement. One took the bathrobe and the other made tea.
Not long after, Bonnie Smith also came out. They went to take a shower together, and then chatted and wandered to the SPA center.
When passing the VIP lounge, Bonnie Smith suddenly stopped, bent her elbow, and touched Diana Swift. She raised her chin, "Betty Miller."
Diana Swift paused for a while and turned to look where Bonnie Smith was staring.
The waiter was serving Betty Miller a fruit salad, and her slightly bent body blocked their view.
Betty Miller also saw them from the gap with her sharp eyes, and she called out their names without fear, "Diana Swift, Bonnie Smith!"
Diana Swift smiled and exchanged knowing looks with Bonnie Smithng tacitly. She walked in leisurely with her long legs.
"Miss Miller, a surprise seeing you here."
Diana Swift sat beside Betty Miller generously with her legs folded sideways, she picked up a small silver fork and picked out a small piece of cucumber from the fruit salad.
Betty Miller looked up and down at Diana Swift and Bonnie Smith's outfits, suddenly thinking of something. No wonder she couldn't walk in the garden freely with the VIP year card and black gold card of the Lux Hotel Group just now. It turned out that the hot tub belonged to Diana Swift.
She also forked a piece of fruit and said without a smile: "Long time no see. I heard that your husband has returned home. He accompanied Laura Brown to the Zero Degree dinner party last night, and he even bought a necklace? That necklace is 180,000 dollars. Come on, your husband has bought it four times higher than the price. He's really generous."
Diana Swift said calmly, "Josh has always been enthusiastic about public welfare."
Josh...
It gave both Bonnie Smith and Betty Miller goosebumps.
Diana Swift smirked regretfully at Betty Miller again, "It's such a pity that you didn't go last night. Oh, why didn't you go last night?"
Betty Miller's goosebumps shrank back, and her whole expression was momentarily solid.
Not long ago, in order to sit in the front row of the first show of a brand, Betty Miller placed an order that was more than 700, 000 dollars without hesitation. She also flaunted her good relationship with the brand to hold her head high before those noble ladies who looked down on her.
But before the show was held, the brand was boycotted by several fashion industry leaders due to serious plagiarism.
The attitude of the brand was still arrogant and this story was moving so quickly. In the end, its reputation was blemished and the show was canceled.
In fact, in the fashion industry, people rarely put a plagiarism label on others. Most of them were only interpreted as popular, classic, and similar ideas. It was not easy for this brand to connect itself with the word "plagiarism".
Betty Miller was so mad that she called and insulted the brand for three consecutive days, but she couldn't return the order she had placed.
She made a fool of herself because of that, so she had to keep a low profile and rarely showed up in front of people recently.
It was kind of a sore spot for her, which made Betty Miller completely forget the newly learned etiquette. Biting the fruit with clack and clack, she said expressionlessly, "I have no time."
Fortunately, at this time, her future husband Ryan Brook sent a message to ask her where she was, saying that he was coming to pick her up for dinner.
With her expression clearing, she jiggled her phone at Diana Swift. There was a childish superiority in her voice, "Ryan Brook is coming to pick me up for dinner, so I won't accompany you. By the way, why didn't Mr. Hunter accompany you today?"
Diana Swift had seen so many women who made out in public. She adjusted her long hair disapprovingly, revealing the red marks on the side of her neck just right. She put her chin on her hand and said sweetly, "He is busy with work, so he usually accompanies me at night." She winked at Betty Miller attractively.
Betty Miller: "..."
She was really a bitch.
