Chapter 5
"Why do you always tease her? She is much more interesting than your toxic friends."
After Betty Miller left, Bonnie Smith fiddled with a straw and squinted at Diana Swift.
Diana Swift fiddled with her hair and said idly, "It's just because she's fun. Don't you think she's quite like a puffy penguin? So cute."
Bonnie Smith paused, so speechless that she forgot how to roll her eyes.
After teasing Betty Miller and having a full-body SPA, Diana Swift was in a much better mood than when she was in the hot spring before.
Different from what she just showed off to Betty Miller, Diana Swift and Josh Hunter actually had very little contact with each other. No matter at home or abroad, they were unlikely to take the initiative to find each other, let alone spending the night together. Usually, whether they could meet each other at home depended on the fate.
As Josh Hunter offended her early in the morning, Diana Swift didn't even want to be involved in this fate.
She didn't go back to Moonshadow Mansion all weekend and she was at ease in her apartment in the center of the city and revised the design drawings by the way.
She had to admit that Josh Hunter's mockery had hit her self-esteem, so she repeatedly looked back at the drawings and the photos of the scene of the Zero Degree dinner. She was suddenly glad that the names of interior designers were not usually mentioned on such occasions.
Josh Hunter also did not return to the Moonshadow Mansion. He had just returned to China so he had a lot of social engagements. Moreover, the company's drama had just begun and the protagonist couldn't leave early.
-
On Monday, in addition to the transfer notice that Josh Hunter took over the group, Lux Hotel Group's employees received another bombshell.
The company's intranet publicized dozens of high-level personnel change notices without warning, including Mike Turner, the current general manager who didn't show up on the day Josh Hunter returned to the company, but asked his secretary to come to give Josh Hunter a run.
These so-called personnel changes, to put it simply, were dismissal.
Outside the president's office on the 68th floor, a row of black bodyguards stood there early in the morning.
Today's Lux Hotel Group Wonder -
Several senior executives rushed to the president's office to ask for an explanation, but were finally dragged out by bodyguards and sent to the elevator without mercy.
Some of the executives were as if they had lost their wits, and after being dragged out, they completely disregarded their usual superior and mighty image and cursed in front of the employees from floor to floor, spilling their guts in a very undignified manner.
People were probably strange creatures who would not learn a lesson from something unless they experienced it themselves. If the Southern Hunter branch, the rice worms a few years ago, were still cooped up in the company, they must not be surprised at the scene today.
By contrast, Josh Hunter was still a little gentle today. After all, last time, he let bodyguards throw people out of the group building directly.
The last person who came to the president's office was Mike Turner.
The name of Mike Turner sounded like a round and rough man's name, but he was actually thin, gentle-eyed and well-dressed.
He was a man in his late sixties, but he looked like a beautiful uncle in his early forties in his prime, who deserved such praise as being elegant and gentle.
"Uncle Mike, sit down."
Josh Hunter courteously asked him to sit down, but it was hard for Mike Turner to pose his past calm attitude as if everything was under his control.
He stood up straight, and there was an uncontrollable coldness in his voice. "I don't dare. I'm afraid that I can't have that close relation with Mr. Hunter."
"Uncle Mike, that's non-sense." Josh Hunter leaned back slightly, and his voice was gentle. "Uncle Turner is a meritorious minister who has made great achievements for Lux Hotel Group. When my father lectured me when I was a child, you stood in front of me to defend me. Whether it's for business or privacy, you can afford this Uncle Mike. "
When Mike Turner heard this, his eyes shifted slightly. With his hands behind his back, he said indifferently, "If you really treat me as an uncle, how can there be such a situation today?"
Josh Hunter's big moves cut all his wings.
The two men knew it by heart, so there was really no need to fight more wit.
Josh Hunter calmly opened a document in his hand and pushed it forward together with a pen whose cap was removed, "You know, today's situation is not a coincidence. Besides, retirement is a good thing, I remember that Uncle Mike's Garden is well taken care of. I think if you have more time, you can take better care of it."
He only wore a tailored dark shirt today. When he raised his hand to tidy his shirt, the silver square cuff-links on his wrist were faintly visible. Like the newly added black, white and gray metal elements in this office, they also made him look cold.
When Mike Turner heard the second half of the sentence, his eyes suddenly changed, sharp as eagles, and his imposing manner seemed to come back. He said word by word, "You really want me to leave with them?"
Josh Hunter didn't shy away, but only pushed another document forward. "Uncle Mike may have a look at this first."
Mike Turner glanced slightly and got a bad feeling. For a moment, he stepped forward, picked up the document and flipped through it.
The more Mike Turner read, the tenser his face became.
Josh Hunter lowered his eyes and said unhurriedly: "Private embezzlement of public funds, selling commercial secrets. Uncle Mike, you can't be unaware of the consequences of these matters if they are investigated."
"How did you ..."

Mike Turner tried to refrain himself, but his voice still couldn't stop trembling when he spoke. At that moment, he simply couldn't understand how these extremely secret things that even his right-hand cronies didn't know could be found out by Josh Hunter, and the evidence was so detailed.
Josh Hunter didn't answer, but tapped his finger on the edge of the document, "Uncle Mike can think it over."
Mike Turner's eyes glared slightly outward, unblinking. He stood motionless there for a long time.
He didn't know how long it took him to slowly regain consciousness.
He was a wise man, and it took him not much time to see the situation clearly. At that moment, he looked straight at Josh Hunter and slowly picked up the pen.
It's just that he didn't bend over and didn't even look at the signature at the end of the document.
Josh Hunter didn't avoid his eyes. After Sam Rodriguez confirmed his signature, he said quietly, "Thank you for your cooperation. Uncle Mike can rest assured that I will do my best to ensure your best retirement life."
The veins stood out on Mike Turner's forehead, and his mouth twitched twice. He didn't say anything, but turned back and left the office without a word.
Although he didn't bend down from beginning to end, his back when he left seemed to be not as tall and straight as when he came in.
When he was far away, Sam Rodriguez came forward, as if nothing had just happened, and reported to Josh Hunter: "Mr. Hunter, Starlight Group agreed to transfer the land in the north of X City and Mr. Reed gave a five-percentage point reduction. I have already prepared a gift and sent it to Starlight Group. The legal department is going through the contract, and it is expected to be signed this week."
Josh Hunter nodded calmly.
"This is the adjusted schedule for this week. You take a look at it." Sam Rodriguez handed the tablet over, "Also, Luxury Bridge called and invited you and your wife to go over for dinner tonight."
Josh Hunter scanned the tablet and nodded his head again.
Not knowing what came to mind, he suddenly asked, "Madam is at home?"
Sam Rodriguez lowered his head and said, "At Cedar Department."
Cedar Department was a famous serviced apartment in P City. In a place like P City, where every inch of land was precious, high housing prices were not unusual. The reason why Cedar Department could be known to everyone depended on its concept of circle culture.
At the beginning of the opening of Cedar Department, there were rumors that the qualifications of the purchasers were strictly scrutinized and many celebrities were rejected for purchasing its apartments.
It was hard to verify whether these rumors were true or real estate speculation, but it was really successfully built into a gathering place for persons with power in the field of blockchain.
Diana Swift's apartment here was a wedding gift given to her by her second uncle Edward Swift, which occupied the whole floor of the top floor of Cedar Department.
One side of it was a nearly 20-meter-long circular-arc panoramic floor-to-ceiling window, and the other side was a spacious balcony like a castle in the air, with a panoramic view of the south of P City.
Diana Swift planted many flowers and trees on the balcony. Actually, as a greenhouse flower, she didn't know how to take care of herself, but the flowers and trees she raised grew wildly, which even formed an exotic garden.
When Josh Hunter arrived downstairs, Diana Swift just finished a satisfactory design drawing.
She took the drawing and admired it over and over again. She almost couldn't wait to call Bonnie Smith to ask her to hold a dinner party again immediately and then escort Josh Hunter to the scene, and let him open his eyes to see how great Miss Swift's true level was!
After repeated appreciation many times, Diana Swift got up contentedly, stretched herself, and stepped on the ground to drain the bathtub.
It's not necessary to be so disciplined to live alone. She specially placed the bathtub in the sun room.
When the water was ready, she turned on the music, closed the curtain on the side, and immersed herself in warm water.
-
Downstairs, Josh Hunter called Diana Swift twice, but no one answered.
When he got upstairs, he rang the doorbell patiently for a minute, but there was no noise in it. He swiped the card to open the door.
The sound insulation effect of the house was too good. There was silence outside, but when the door was opened, there was deafening heavy metal music inside.
Josh Hunter stood at the door, thinking for a moment whether Diana Swift, the rich lady, was unwilling to be lonely and had to find a bunch of low-intelligent creatures to have a party at home.
When he saw the messy but empty room in front of him, he heard the crazy passion of the female rapper mixed in the music:
"Hey boy! Look at me!"
"..."
Josh Hunter looked inside and saw Diana Swift sitting in the middle of a pool full of bubbles, holding a megaphone in one hand, raising the other and posing as a rapper's gesture and putting it up from time to time.
"Diana Swift is a fairy!"
"Fairy! Fairy! "
"Fairy who turns all beings upside down!"
"Fairy! Fairy! "
Although none of the words kept up with the beat, she was good at livening up the atmosphere.  After singing a sentence herself, she also vividly imitated the audience's response.
Josh Hunter was forced to enjoy the performance for thirty seconds.
When he thought that this deadly passionate rap had finished, rapper Swift told him with her creative strength that everything was just the beginning.
"Diana Swift is a fairy!"
"Fairy! Fairy! "
"The fairy who makes you a vassal under her skirt!"
"Fairy! Fairy! "
"The fairy you can't sleep with!"
"Fairy! Fairy! "
"Your type! Pick! Skr~!"
The phrase "skr" ended perfectly with the gesture of aiming and shooting, but at the same time, the air fell into a dead silence.
Through the glass of the sunroom, Diana Swift seemed to see a line of words written on Josh Hunter's cold face: Oh, I slept with the fairy.
