Chapter 7
The awkwardness that this glance brought to Diana Swift was in no way inferior to the bathtub hi-song that Josh Hunter bumped into a few hours ago.
Josh Hunter seemed to have thought of the same thing and suddenly asked, "What are you looking at me for? The fairy who makes others bow under the skirt."
When he said "the fairy who makes others bow under the skirt ", his tone was flat, but there was a short pause between each word, a bit like his reciting ancient texts in high school, except that his rudimentary repetition itself carried a sense of seeming humiliation.
Diana Swift's reaction was a bit slow, and for a moment she didn't know how to answer.
Josh Hunter got his leisure, and said, "Isn't the title right? Maybe you prefer 'the fairy who turns all beings upside down'?"
Diana Swift: "..."
She was just too kind to imagine that a cold-mouthed beast of a man like Josh Hunter would be depressed for a moment because of complicated family relationships.
She sat up straight, expressionless, and said, "Speak more if you can."
Josh Hunter did not do what she said, and his eyes turned back to the front indifferently. He told the driver to go back to Moonshadow Mansion, and then he didn't speak again.
The Moonshadow Mansion was divided into Pool Villa Area and Lake Villa Area, and the thirteenth villa where Josh Hunter and Diana Swift lived was the Lake Villa Area, with a wide bridge specially built to the private parking lot, and a security pavilion by the bridge where security personnel standing guard round the clock, so it had good security and privacy.
As soon as the car stopped, Diana Swift pulled open the door and took the lead to get out, and then walked away without looking back.
Her back was graceful and very imposing. The invisible man Sam Rodriguez silently evaluated in his heart: dashing.
Diana Swift returned home, quickly went up to the second floor, locked the bedroom door, and wondered if Josh Hunter would say a few soft words when he came to knock at the door later.
But when she finished removing her makeup, she didn't hear any noise downstairs.
She went to the balcony and coincidentally saw Josh Hunter's car slowly drive out of the Lake Villa Area, followed by a Passat.
The person driving the Passat was Josh Hunter's personal bodyguard.
His bodyguards were always on duty in three shifts 24 hours a day.
In other words, he's gone?
After reacting with hindsight, Diana Swift immediately called to him and questioned, "Where are you going?"
Josh Hunter's voice was clear and light, "I have a social gathering. You rest first. Do not wait for me."
"......? Who wants to wait for you?"
For a moment, Diana Swift thought she had heard wrong. Did the man expect her to be a docile wife waiting for her husband at home? How dare he think so?
She hung up the phone without hesitation.
But then she began to regret hanging up so quickly. He wouldn't think she's guilty, would he?
The more she thought about it, the more she felt ridiculous and exasperating. "Stinky and shameless. He's not very good-looking. He should have this wishful thinking!"
After the ridicule, she threw down her mobile phone and went back to the bathroom to apply a mask.
During the process of applying the mask, she suddenly thought, No, it seemed that he couldn't be classified as "not very good-looking".
First of all, he really didn't belong to this category. Secondly, wouldn't it insult her own aesthetics if she had to put him in this category?
She became even angrier at this thought.
After sending Diana Swift back to Moonshadow Mansion, Josh Hunter told the driver to go to Night Breeze.
Night Breeze was a private club, located in the former consulate site on Hero Road. Compared with other high-end clubs, it was special in that it didn't open membership applications and it would only take the initiative to invite members who they thought were up to standard.
Josh Hunter had an appointment here with the partners to talk about the development of supporting hotels in the western suburbs.
It's the time when the lights were just on, and the whole P City was flooded with brimming lights in the dim night. The city always seemed to have a lively and lonely beauty.
Josh Hunter didn't look outside. After returning home, he had participated in social engagements for many days, and even an iron man would feel tired. He leaned back with his hands low in front of his body and closed his eyes to rest.
Maybe it's because his brain was always running at a high speed, and it's difficult for him to relax quickly at the moment. Many images popped into his mind uncontrollably.
First, there was the young cousin who said sorry in panic, looking at ribs in the bowl and not knowing what to do, frightened and childish.
Then there was old Julie Hunter smiling at Diana Swift, but turning her head to look at him with a little more subconscious politeness and detachment.
There was also the silence that filled the gazebo when the young aunt Renee Hunter mentioned Toby Hunter.
At that moment, he suddenly remembered the scene when he first walked into Luxury Bridge from X City to P City as a child.
It's the same quiet scene, where there were many people.
Something had been so long ago that they seemed to have happened in the last century, and there was a tacit agreement to keep quiet about it. It's not because it had passed, but because it could never pass.
Sam Rodriguez sat in the passenger seat and saw Josh Hunter's eyebrows frowning slightly in the rear-view mirror, not very restful. He made his own decisions and turned on a soft and soothing ditty.
The traffic lights outside the window changed from red to green, and the dim street lights obliquely hit the half-open window, like a nostalgic halo, and they jumped dimly.
Josh Hunter felt sleepy unusually.
Somehow, Diana Swift's singing in the bathtub suddenly popped up in his mind. When he thought of that picture, those rap lyrics also started the 3D surround mode of circular play like supporting equipment.
His sleepiness suddenly dissipated, and he rubbed his brow bone, inexplicably whispering.
-
The night breeze was cool. Standing in front of Night Breeze, Kate Hall looked up at the silver flowing doorway, unconsciously gathered her arms and gently cowered.
She was temporarily caught to come to a party today, replacing a famous actress under her manager who had an unexpected situation.
The manager told her to take advantage of the situation, but before she left the house, she was told to keep her mouth shut if she was not good at talking.
How could she make good use of it if she didn't speak up? Kate Hall was a bit puzzled and confused.
Night Breeze was difficult for ordinary people to enter. With Lyle Hall's agreement, the waitress in cheongsam laughingly led her upstairs.
She pinched the shoulder strap of the bag and looked inside curiously.
Maybe it's because the predecessor of Night Breeze was the consulate, it was decorated with a blend of Chinese and Western styles. There were bridges and flowing water, as well as phonographs and oil paintings. Amazingly, it did not give people sense of disobedience.
The box she was going to was on the third floor, and it had an elegant name, "Blue Friday".
Rich people like to take such names to show their good taste. Kate Hall was not surprised.
The door of the box was opened, and the room was so wide that it was impossible to see the whole picture at a glance.
The entrance was a marble round table with an automatic rotating plate, with delicate tableware and full flowers on it, surrounded by half a screen. The lights in it became dim and dark, and there were a few conversations from inside.
When Kate Hall approached, she just heard a low smiling voice, "Lyle Hall, please."
Lyle Hall also smiled. "I'm not as good as you in remembering cards."
A handful of unfinished cards were covered on the table and shuffled together with other cards.

When he saw Kate Hall coming, Lyle Hall raised his eyebrows a little and didn't take her too seriously, shuffling his cards while casually ordering, "Light a cigarette for Mr. Hunter."
Mr. Hunter? Kate Hall subconsciously looked around.
There were six men in the room, three sitting and three standing. Those standing didn't look like the main ones. As for those sitting, in addition to the one she knew, Lyle Hall, there was another middle-aged man, but he already had a female companion around him, who was her peer.
The remaining one ......
Kate Hall saw his face and was suddenly stunned.
This was the man who raised the price of Laura Brown's pearl necklace on the night of Zero Degree dinner?
She remembered he's called Josh Hunter.
Seeing that she didn't respond for a long time, Lyle Hall frowned. "What are you still doing? Do you have to bathe and burn incense before lighting a cigarette?"
Kate Hall returned to her senses and quickly bent down to get the cigarette case on the table, which she had never seen before and she couldn't open.
Josh Hunter turned his head, glanced at her very shallowly, and raised his hand to slightly block it. "No, thank you."
Kate Hall didn't know what to do at the moment.
Lyle Hall couldn't stand it anymore, and he pointed out his finger pointing, "Add more wine."
"..."
Then Kate Hall was very passive to get the foreign wine bottle.
She was quite clever usually. Otherwise, the agent wouldn't have given her this chance so soon, but today she was somehow in a hurry.
The other two female companions looked at her with some mockery, and Lyle Hall's female companion deliberately chose this time to show her understanding. She crossed her fingers to rub Lyle Hall's forehead, swirling in circles, with her wine-red nails with silver sequins sparkling in the light, which was particularly eye-catching.
While enjoying the gentle service, Lyle Hall skillfully cut cards and dealt cards, and said idly, "Mr. Hunter, it's not my fault. Originally, I wanted Lily Green to come, but her agent said that her flight was delayed and she couldn't come back. She insisted giving me such a little girl. She was said to be a student of the Film Academy and have just performed a campus film. She was also said to be pure and clever. Now, I can't believe she's clever. "
He turned his head and asked Kate Hall, "What's your name again?"
"Kate...Hall."
Lyle Hall was happy, "Heh, the same surname as me."
"Real name?"
Josh Hunter, who hadn't said much, suddenly looked at her.
Kate Hall shook her head, "Stage name."
"What's your real name?"
Kate Hall was a little embarrassed and stammered without saying anything.
Josh Hunter did not care. His eyes moved away and fell back to the cards, and he slowly and methodically adjusted the position of the cards in his hand.
His hands were thin and slender, and his grip on the cards looked like he was playing with a work of art.
After a long time of hesitation, Kate Hall replied softly, "My real name is Mary Hall."
After saying that, her ears reddened, and she herself felt that this name was really old-fashioned.
As expected, the female companions could not help but laugh at the sound of it, and Lyle Hall even directly ridiculed that the name sounded like a maid from the last century.
Josh Hunter did not react like this, but only said in a light voice: "Your real name is good, the name Kate does not suit you."
It was clear that his tone was extremely light, but she heard a lot of tender feelings from it. Kate Hall was stunned for a moment and even forgot to think about why this name did not suit her.
As for the second half of the men's talk, Kate Hall could not understand, nor did she listen. She seemed to be obsessed and she became daring inexplicably.
After pouring the wine for Josh Hunter, she sat next to him in a good manner, handing things from time to time as a help.
Lyle Hall despised her earlier, but now he gave her a look which said "quite understanding".
-
The initiative of the hotel development in the western suburbs lied in Lux Hotel Group.
After Josh Hunter returned to China to take over the group, he made adjustments to the group's current and pending projects. The hotel project in the western suburbs of the scenic area was evaluated to be quite unremarkable, like a dispensable chicken rib for the group, tasteless to eat but a pity to discard.
But for Lyle Hall's project, the presence of a well-known high-end hotel brand was indispensable for the improvement of the service level and overall positioning of the scenic spot.
That's why there's this social gathering today. One part was attempting to maintain the original state and continue cooperation, and the other part was quietly waiting for concessions.
At the end of the night, Lyle Hall didn't get any benefits from Josh Hunter, but the cooperation couldn't be stopped, so he had to make concessions again and again. In the end, he still had to thank them again and again even though he had made many concessions, as if begging others to earn money from him.
Josh Hunter and another investor who coordinated from the side, left first. Lyle Hall pulled his tie, feeling a little agitated.
Seeing Kate Hall still making mincing steps and hesitating to follow Josh Hunter, he became even angrier and raised his chin at the door, "Follow him! Where did you come from? What the hell? What are you pretending to be here?"
Kate Hall was both angry and afraid, but she did not talk back. Both of them were surnamed Hall, and the "Hall" in front of her was not someone she could offend.
She jogged out and saw the car boy bending down and opening the car door for Josh Hunter.
"Mr. Hunter!"
She mustered up the courage to shout.
Josh Hunter paused in his steps and raised his eyes slightly.
Kate Hall took a deep breath and stepped forward with high heels quickly.
Stopping in front of Josh Hunter, she squeezed her bag strap tightly and asked slightly shyly, "Mr. Hunter, I wonder if it's convenient for you to give me a ride? I didn't drive my car... No, I don't have a car."
After saying that she immediately added, "It's okay if it's not convenient, then... could I have your WeChat number?"
Josh Hunter laughed lightly.
Kate Hall quietly raised her eyes, but found that his gaze was falling on her bag.
This bag was lent to her by her manager, which was a style launched by a major brand two years ago. The color and style were beautiful, and of course, the price was not something that a young artist like her who had just entered the entertainment industry could afford on a daily basis.
Josh Hunter also had a deep memory of the color and style of this bag. On the night before marriage, Diana Swift carried a same bag.
When she woke up that night, Diana Swift saw him lying beside her. She was so angry that she poured out the things in her bag directly, put the bag on his head, and dragged his head, wanting to let the pervert who took her virginity explode in place.
"Mr. Hunter?"
Kate Hall asked again with trepidation, and shook her mobile phone slightly.
Josh Hunter returned to his senses, his gaze pausing for a moment on her phone's WeChat interface.
He turned the ring on his ring finger and reminded her rather directly, "Sorry, I'm already married."
Kate Hall was slightly stunned.
She had been staring at him all night, and she naturally had seen the wedding ring on his hand. It's just that for these men, it didn't matter whether they got married or not.
She subconsciously interpreted Josh Hunter's reminder as an alternative hint, and although she was a little lost at his words, it wasn't out of her expectation.
After a moment of silence, she thought she had the courage to lift her chin to meet Josh Hunter's eyes, and said bluntly, "I don't mind."
"I do mind."
Kate Hall looked at him blankly, puzzled, "Mr. Hunter, what ... what do you mean?"
Josh Hunter ran out of patience and said without even thinking, "Don't you need cultural scores to enter your school? Can you understand the lines with your understanding level?"
Josh Hunter got into the car and also said slowly, "Your looks, temperament, education and family are not a match for my wife. You might as well wash your face to sober up."
