Chapter 165 Force Him to Eat the Cake

Chapter 165 Force Him to Eat the Cake
Standing at the door, Jane knocked on the door. People inside thought it was a waiter and answered, "Come in."
Jane pushed the door and walked inside. The private room was spacious with a large round table in it. Many people sat around the table. Edward had his back to her. She saw his short hair, broad shoulders, brown-colored shirt with cuffs pulled up to his elbows, revealing part of his forearm and his long fingers holding a cigarette.
Edward and Vincent had their backs to the door and didn't turn around. Vincent turned to see the visitor as he saw people across the room all staring at the door. After he saw Jane, he couldn't help but curl his lips, "Miss Cooper?"
Edward was tempted to turn his head but feared that Vincent had just tricked him. He held back his curiosity and did not move until he heard Jane's voice, "Mr. Perez, sorry to bother you. I just come over and bring a cake to you."
Vincent smiled and asked, "Who's birthday?"
Jane said, "It's my birthday."
Vincent made a gesture to get up, "Oh! It's your birthday. Come and sit down. Let the waiter add a seat."
Some people got up to move their chairs, but Jane refused, "Don't bother. I am going to leave. My friends are waiting for me."
Vincent said, "OK, just leave the cake here. Edward likes cakes."
Jane knew Edward was fond of cakes. She walked forward. When she was two steps away from Edward, Edward turned his head slightly. Vincent pretended to help her but tripped her. Jane staggered, and the cake in her one hand flew out of control.
Men on the table shouted. They moved their chair back quickly. The legs of the chair squeaked against the floor. Edward quickly got up and instinctively stretched out his hands to hold Jane's arm. The whole cake in Jane's one hand went to his chest and collarbone, and even his chin.
For several seconds, all the people were frozen. Edward held Jane's arms. Jane was distressed by the cake and still pressed his chest without moving her hands. Vincent seemed to be late to catch on and pretended to be surprised. Others at the table were shocked.
After Jane stood firmly, she raised her head to see Edward while Edward was also staring at her. After a few seconds, she pulled her left arm out of his palm, held the tray in one hand and put the cake back inside the tray from his chest in the other hand.
In the face of great disasters, human beings' fear and panic are worthless to be mentioned. Jane's face was red, and her eyes were downcast as she said in a low voice, "I'm sorry..."
Edward was covered in cream but said nothing when he saw Jane's red face. He walked to the restroom inside the private room. Jane was upset. What she had done! She intended to apologize to him, but now she guessed Edward was mad.
Vincent gave her the napkin box on the table and said, "Go inside and help him."
Thinking that she had embarrassed herself and Edward in front of so many people and not knowing what to do, Jane hurriedly twisted around and followed Edward into the restroom.
Edward was holding a tissue in the restroom and looking down at his clothes. She could tell by his stiff movements that he did not know what to do. Jane said, "Let me clean your shirt."
She walked in front of Edward and drew several pieces of tissues to wipe his shirt carefully. Now she had no time to think about gender differences or whether they had some private stories.
Edward saw her face was even redder than before. He wanted to say it was okay but changed his words when he spoke, "Do you want to treat me to cake or force me to eat it?"

Jane's face became redder. She stared at the cream on his shirt and said while wiping it away, "I'm sorry..."
The tissues in her hands were dirty, so Jane took several new ones. Though she stood so close to him, she dared not to raise her eyes to see his face.
Edward said without anger, "Nice cake. What a pity."
Jane said, "I still have some cake. My aunt made a three-tier cake."
Edward was surprised, "Did your family make it?"
"Yes."
"Your family came to S City?"
"Yes."
She wiped the shirt seriously as if the shirt instead Edward was the most important at that moment.
Edward, who got a cold shoulder, said, "Don't wipe it anymore."
He unbuttoned his shirt, took it off and threw it in the sink. His neck was full of sticky cream, so he turned around to wash it. But he suddenly saw in the mirror that there was still a bit of cream on his chin. Without knowing reasons, he wiped it with his one thumb and put it into his mouth to taste it.
"Quite tasty," Edward said.
Jane was embarrassed to stay with a topless man. She said in a small voice, "What size of clothes do you wear. I'll go out and buy one for you."
Edward said, "No need. Take this out and let someone have it washed and dried."
Without saying a word, Jane rolled up her sleeves and stepped forward. She turned on the tap, pressed the shirt Edward had taken off into the sink and soaked it. She lowered her head, "Please go out first and wait for a while. I'll wash it and take it out to dry it for you."
Edward stood beside Jane, looked at her red face and said, "if have to do the laundry on your birthday, Oh, you will be even more miserable than the Cinderella."
Jane was humiliated by what happened just now. She was already embarrassed. Now she wanted to hit the sink by her head as he made fun of her.
Without turning around, Jane said, "I'm sorry."
Edward suddenly asked, "What's your birthday wish this year?"
Jane washed his clothes with hand sanitizer. Her mind was blank, and she replied slowly "All my families and friends are healthy."
"That's all?"
"Yes."
"I thought you had wished for your client's embarrassment."
Jane hang her head and whispered, "I was the one who was embarrassed."
There was a smile in Edward's eyes, "I forgive you for the sake of your birthday."
Jane said, "Thank you, you should go out quickly and put on some clothes. Don't catch a cold."
Seeing Jane, who wore a white T-shirt and light blue jeans and was so thin, standing in front of the sink to help him wash clothes, Edward could not bear, "Don't wash. Just take it outside and let others deal with it."
Jane was stubborn, "It's OK, please go outside first."
Edward took a piece of tissue and dabbed it with water to wipe the cream from his neck and chin. He said nonchalantly, "Don't say I'm bullying you."
He turned to walk out. Behind him, Jane suddenly called out, "Mr. Smith."
Edward turned around, and Jane was looking at him, "Thank you for that night on the nineteenth."
Seeing not just gratitude but also apology in her eyes, Edward said slowly, "There are many people who chase after me. I am not interested in taking advantage of people. You should be vigilant, but there is no need to keep alert on me as if I'm a wolf. I will not take advantage of my people."
When he said she was one of his own, Jane felt even more guilty and nodded, "I see."
Edward pushed the door and walked out. People saw him come out naked and alone. They couldn't help but look different. Vincent whistled, "Wow, what happened. So intense that your clothes are gone?"
Edward walked to his seat and put on his suit jacket. He lit a cigarette and stared at Vincent.
Vincent smiled as if it was not him who tripped Jane up.
