Chapter 164 Auntie Was as Enthusiastic as The Sun
Now people in the private room could be divided into two groups. One included Jane, Jennifer and Aaron, who were talking about 'adult topics,' and the other had Ellie, Justin and Henry, who were talking about 'underage topics'. There seemed to be a harmonious atmosphere in the room.
Jane finished her order and called the waiter in. She saw that Henry and Justin were blocked in their seats by Ellie and questioned a lot by her. She said, "Auntie, can you just let them go. They're just kids."
Ellie looked sideways at her, "What about you? You've been in S City for a few months now. Have you got a boyfriend yet?"
Jane knew that she would get into trouble. She slumped
pitifully in her chair. Now she was in the same situation as the two boys.
Aaron said, "Aunt, why don't you ask me? I've been waiting here all the time."
Ellie smiled and said, "There is no need to worry about you, Aaron sweetie. I would chase after you if I were ten or so years younger. I am worried about baby Jane and Jennie."
Baby Jane had already lost the energy to refute her, but Jennie decided she couldn't just sit and wait for her doom. Jennifer refuted Aunt Ellie, "Auntie, you've been asking around, and you've known everyone's story. But we haven't asked you yet, what about you? Are you single, or are you in love?"
In a flash, everyone's eyes were on Ellie, including Justin and Henry.
Ellie reached out and propped her chin up, asking, "Do you guys think no one would chase after me?"
Aaron said, "That's impossible. Auntie is an eye-catching woman who would be noticed ten meters away by all men."
Ellie curled her eyes and said, "Aaron sweetie really knows how to flatter me."
Jennifer said, "Auntie. It's impossible to tell that you're twelve years older than us. It feels like I have to call you sister when we walk together."
Ellie raised the glass of wine in her hand, "I love Jennie most."
Looking at these three people who were getting mushy, Jane was speechless and wanted to avoid getting involved in their conversation. Justin and Henry, who were on the side, got to know what a person Aunt Ellie was. Why did Jane and Ellie look alike but have very different personalities?
Jane felt the two children sitting on pins and needles. She tilted her head and comforted them, "Don't be afraid. She's just too enthusiastic. She won't hurt you."
Henry reluctantly smiled while Justin was expressionless and still in the process of getting used to Ellie.
The waiter knocked on the door and took the dishes in. As the dishes were served, Ellie raised her glass, "I'm the oldest at the table. Though it's not obvious, it's true. I'll say something first. Today is my loved baby Jane's twenty-fifth birthday. Thank Aaron sweeties, Jennie, little Justin and Henry for participating in her birthday party. Come on, let's drink."
Everyone shared a toast. All the adults drank wine while the teens had drinks. Ellie asked Henry and Justin, "You can't drink wine, right?"
Jane said, "Of course."
Ellie said, "Your pity. I've brought lots of plum wine."
Jennifer immediately said, "Auntie, I want it. I've been waiting for a long time."
Ellie said, "I know you love to drink plum wine, so I've got a box of wine for you."
Jennifer raised both arms above her head and made a hand heart, "I love you, Auntie."
Lu said, "Auntie, I don't want your wine, but you should stay for a few more days. I want to eat your cooking."
Ellie smiled and said, "No problem, you all come to baby Jane's house these days and have dinner there."
Aaron said, "Jane learns cooking well from you, but her cooking cannot compare with yours."
Ellie said, "I'm her aunt. Of course, she's not as good as me."
Jane gave Ellie some food. Ellie said, "Eat more, baby Jane. Look at how thin you are now. I feel sorry for you. When you were a child, you were chubby and cute."
Then she glanced at Henry, "As chubby as Henry."
Henry was about to stuff a piece of meat into his mouth when he heard the words and stopped.
Jane said, "Don't always keep an eye on the two of them. Let them have dinner in peace."
Ellie sighed, "Oh, you were 66 pounds at six, 77 pounds at seven, 88 pounds at eight. I always thought you would steadily grow 11 pounds a year. Who knew that you would grow to 99 pounds and never grow again. But you are so tall. Awwww, if I had known that, I wouldn't have let you lose weight."
Henry could hardly swallow his food. Justin tried to hold back his laughter. He could hardly imagine an eight-year-old Jane who was 88 pounds. How fat could she be?
Jennifer smiled and said, "Auntie showed me Jane's pictures. Jane has changed a lot. A water vat turned into a water wipe."
Aaron said, "Now her legs are thinner than they were when she was ten."
Jane's elegant image was suddenly gone. It didn't matter that she was made fun of by them, but she was afraid that Henry would be hurt.
Looking at Henry, Jane said, "Don't worry, the fatter you are as a child, the thinner you will be as you grow up."
Henry has a complicated expression as if he had something to say. Justin could not hold it in anymore. He said, "He was very thin when he was younger. He was even thinner than me."
Jane choked for a moment. She said, "You are small now. It's not the time."
Ellie said, "Little Henry and Justin, come to baby Jane's house when you are free these days. I will cook cuisines for you. It will be delicious, and you will lose weight by eating the food I cook."
Henry was happy. Justin said, "I'm standard weight."
Ellie said, "After eating my cooking, you can be as thin as you want or as fat as you want, or you can maintain your beauty. Look how handsome you are. You should keep your handsomeness and try to be more handsome."
Justin had always been quite vague about his looks. He was used to the handsomeness of Uncle Edward and Vincent as if everyone was as handsome as them. And his family would not praise him for his good look. As for others, he would not believe their praise as they just flattered him. However, now he blushed at Auntie Ellie's words.
Jane was right. Ellie was warm and enthusiastic like the sun, shining on everyone she caught and forcing people to be shined by her.
Halfway through the meal, Ellie started again, "Come on. Leave some space in your stomach for my baking."
She had prepared a cake. A waiter wheeled the three-tier sakura pink cake in.
The top tier of the cake wrote 'Happy Forever Baby Jane'. Ellie put the birthday crown on Jane's head. Everyone gathered around her and asked her to make a wish.
The top layer was the smallest one, prepared especially for Jane. The middle layer was taken down, and Ellie was about to cut it when Jane said, "Let's eat the bottom layer."
Ellie was confused. Jane explained, "I'm going to give this layer to the parents of Justin and Henry. They are also having dinner here."
Ellie immediately said, "OK, hurry up. I'll cut a piece for Justin and Little Henry first. Aaron sweetie and Jannie are big kids, after all. They have to get in line."
The four people moved quietly and lined up behind Ellie in order unconsciously without knowing whether Ellie's words influenced them. Jane walked out with a layer of cake in her hand. She met a waiter and asked, "May I ask which room Mr. Smith is in?"
The waiter said, "Mr. Edward Smith?"
Jane nodded.
The waiter replied then, "Room 202 upstairs."
Jane nodded, "Thank you."
Carrying the cake upstairs, Jane hoped that Edward would be in a better mood after eating the cake as she had misunderstood him and blamed him before.
