Chapter 167 The Bully Meets the King of the Mountain

Chapter 167 The Bully Meets the King of the Mountain
There was bewilderment in Ellie's eyes, but she quickly nodded her head and curled her lips, "Nice to meet you too."
Edward said, "I am Justin's parent. Thanks for taking care of Justin."
Ellie's eyes lit up, "Are you Justin's brother or..."
Edward, "I am his guardian."
Ellie was smart and quickly understood that Edward was reluctant to reveal too much information, so she changed the topic and said with a smile, "Thank you for trusting baby Jane and the noodles you ordered just now."
Baby Jane?
Edward his face with a polite smile, "Thank you for the cake."
Ellie smiled and asked, "I made it myself. Do you like it?"
Edward said, "Mr. Cooper accidentally spilled it, but it looked nice. I believed it was delicious."
Ellie was surprised, and then she gave him a warm invitation, "Really? Baby Jane didn't tell me...come in and have a seat. There's some cake inside."
Edward said, "Thank you, but no need."
"Don't mention it. Baby Jane has been in S City for a short time. You're her first client. I always wanted to thank you in person. It's rare to meet you here. Please come in and have a seat if you are not in a hurry. I'll treat you to a piece of cake."
Ellie did not pull Edward into the room. She just pushed open the private room door and invited him in.
It was the first time Edward experienced such enthusiasm. Perhaps all the people in the room were looking outside.
He was right. People inside watched the door open, and Ellie stood in the doorway, holding the door handle with one hand, and her eyes were looking outside. There was someone in the corridor. A few seconds later, Edward appeared at the door.
Jane was sitting facing the door. She was surprised when she saw Edward. Then, she immediately got up.
Edward entered the room. Jane called out, "Mr. Smith."
Henry called out, "Edward."
Justin could not call his name, so he didn't make any sound.
Jennifer followed Jane to get up. She nodded politely toward Edward. Aaron did not put on air but stood up. People in the room looked different. They were all surprised to some extent. Edward was the most embarrassed, for he did not want to come in.
The most enthusiastic person in the room was Ellie. She let Edward sit down and then said to Jane, "Baby Jane, why didn't you tell me that the cake had fallen and little Edward hadn't tasted it."
The nickname "little Edward" made Jane embarrassed. She immediately looked at Edward. Maybe Edward had never been called like this. There was a hint of innocence on his face
"Ah...I accidentally spilled it."
Jane didn't know why Edward visited their private room. Did he want to come after her?
Edward saw through Jane's mind and thought, "Are you blind? Haven't you seen that I was forced to come in?"
Ellie walked towards the place where the cakes were kept. She said, "We still have some cake here. I should have sent it to little Edward before."
She was about to cut the cake for Edward when Jane said, "Auntie, let me do it."
Ellie said, "OK."
Ellie went back to the table and picked up the red wine bottle to pour wine for Edward. Edward said politely, "Please sit down. I'll help myself."
Ellie smiled, "I'd like to toast you. Thank you for giving baby Jane an opportunity and letting her meet such a good client like you and a cute and handsome little friend Justin."
Justin, sitting aside, was very calm. Maybe he was numb because he had heard "Justin" too many times.
Edward and Ellie drank the wine. Ellie poured another glass of wine, "This one has nothing to do with baby Jane. I just appreciate you. You have a good eye as you chose my baby Jane. Jane is the best."
Edward drank that glass of wine.

Jane turned her back to the table to cut the cake. She did not know what to do. How did these two meet each other? If Edward was a bully, then Ellie was the king of the mountain. It could not tell who was more powerful.
She took the plate, cut a large piece of cake and walked toward the table. Seeing that Edward and Ellie were pouring wine again, she couldn't help but say, "Auntie, stop persuading him to drink."
Before Ellie could say a word, Edward said, "I toast you, welcome to S City."
Ellie smiled and drank the wine.
Edward poured another glass, "You are right. Mr. Cooper is very capable. This glass of wine is for Justin."
Jane stood beside Edward, watching them go back and forth and drink four glasses of wine. It seemed that they were seizing the initiative. She didn't know whether Edward was happy or angry.
When they stopped, Jane placed the cake in front of Edward and said softly, "We didn't touch any of these."
Perhaps there were other people here. Edward showed rare politeness, "Thank you."
Jane sat back. Ellie looked at Edward and said, "Try it. My cooking will not be worse than the ones sold outside."
Edward picked up a spoon and took a bite. He nodded, "That's very delicious."
If the same words came from someone else's mouth, these might be flattering. But Edward didn't look like someone who would patronize others, so his words sounded sincere. Jane felt like he was a judge of a television program who was commenting on the food.
As expected, Ellie was happy, "Justin is so filial. He said his family liked eating cakes, and wanted to learn how to make cakes by himself."
Edward said without changing his face, "You don't have to bother teaching him. He has no talent in cooking."
Justin was expressionless. He was offended, but he was unable to deny the truth.
Ellie looked at Justin and said, "There is nothing in this world you can't do with your heart except love."
Jane frowned lightly and called out, "Auntie!"
Although Ellie was thirty-seven years old, she was completely missing the composure she should have at this age. Instead, she was like a child, saying whatever she wanted. It didn't matter as they were all acquaintances, but Jane feared that she would offend Edward with some unpleasing words.
Edward had a spoon in his right hand. He swallowed the cake and raised his eyes, "That's right, especially in unrequited love, which won't end well."
Ellie raised her eyes slightly as if she had found her soulmate, "When two people hit it off, that can be called true love."
Edward followed, "Dillydallying means there if only 'movement' between them, and the compulsion that comes after failing to win one's heart."
Ellie could not agree more. She could not express the excitement of finding a soulmate with words. She picked up her glass, Edward followed her, and the two toasted each other.
Aaron bowed his head to play with his phone and said in the WeChat group, which only included him, Jennifer and Jane, "There's no one our aunt is unable to handle."
Jennifer silently picked up her phone and followed Aron's words, "Auntie is awesome. This is the first time she has met Edward, right?"
Aaron said, "You should not learn how to make wine and cooking from Auntie Ellie but learn how to improve your social ability. You can win Edward's heart if you are as capable as her."
Jennifer sent an emoji to show she was 'dying' and sighed, "I've decided I would not let Auntie Ellie be my stepmother. I'll hire her to be a marketing expert for me!"
Jane didn't need to look at her mobile phone to know that Aaron and Jennifer were chatting in their chat group. She seemed to be on pins and needles. She could not participate in Ellie and Edward's conversation. She feared there would be silence or the atmosphere was too hot to control.
