Chapter 179: He Felt It Ridiculous
Edward only ordered someone to expose what Bobby did. As for Aiden, too many people wanted to kick him when he was down and followed the trend to slander him.
The game company was in the preparation stage, so Edward spent another night there. Justin called him early in the morning. He thought that something had happened at home, so he answered it quickly.
"Uncle Edward."
"What's the matter?"
Justin asked, "Do you know Aiden?"
Hearing Aiden's name, Edward subconsciously felt uncomfortable in his heart. "Why do you ask about him?"
Justin said, "I saw Aiden on the news, and he was implicated by someone else. People scolded him harshly."
Edward said, "What does it have to do with you?"
Edward didn't sleep all night. Hearing Justin's words, he couldn't react. After a moment of silence, he said, "I'll call you later."
He hung up the phone and checked the top few hot topics online with his phone. At that time, several hot topics were about the same thing, Aiden, Bobby, the alumni of Y University, and the president of Unrivaled Culture.
If Justin didn't mention Jane, Edward might not know the truth. After all, she seldom talked in front of Edward. She wouldn't speak unless he asked her something. However, Justin's words made Edward feel that those comments were written by Jane. He had a feeling that it was something she wrote. Her words were not only righteous but also domineering and aggressive. This was Jane. When Beth touched Jane's sore point back then, Jane could go fight with her alone directly.
She was protecting Aiden in her way.
Edward couldn't forget Justin's unintentional remark. Jane valued Aiden very much, so she wouldn't miss her appointment with Aiden. Besides, Edward witnessed how delicate she was when she was with Aiden. However, Jane was cold and serious when she was with him.
Edward wanted Jane to know that her cognition was not exactly right. However, he didn't know that Aiden had an unassailable position in her heart, and she admired Aiden from the bottom of her heart.
Edward couldn't tell how he was feeling. At first, he was mad, and the inexplicable rage bubbled just below the surface of his mind, making him feel that Jane was so hateful. Maybe Jane had long known that it was Bobby who did that, and perhaps Aiden told her about it personally. Edward wanted to laugh. He would rather laugh at himself than look angry.
Edward called Justin back and said blandly, "Are you sure it was written by Jane?"
Justin said, "It's very likely."
Edward said, "She must have her reason to speak for her boss. Your worry for her is unnecessary ."
Justin said, "The haters online speak so harshly, which makes me mad."
Edward replied, "Even she's not mad. Why are you mad?"
Justin said, "How do you know she's not mad? She's right. It's not Aiden's fault. Why don't those haters scold the one who made the mistake but scold an innocent person?"
Edward asked, "Are you sure that Aiden has no responsibility for this matter at all?"
Justin didn't know why Edward said so and replied, "Aiden is Bobby's classmate and boss, but so what? Bobby is an adult, and he's not Aiden's relative. Why should Aiden bear the consequence for him?"
Edward wanted to say that Aiden had to bear the consequence for Bobby. How could he just dismiss Bobby? Was this what Aiden did for Jane? Did Jane accept it with peace of mind?
If Edward wasn't by Jane's side that night, would someone else protect her like that? Could Jane say that Aiden shouldn't be implicated so reasonably?
No, he couldn't think about it carefully, or he would be terribly
exasperated.
Edward said, "She is an adult and can be responsible for her choice. You don't need to worry about her, and I don't need to deal with the aftermath behind her back. Do you know what she wants? You think you do this for her good, but maybe she'll think you're interfering in her business. Well, I'm busy. Bye."
Edward hung up the phone and couldn't calm down no matter what. He threw his phone aside.
He knew Justin didn't do anything wrong, and he shouldn't have talked to Justin so harshly, but he couldn't control himself. In fact, he was the one who interfere in her affairs.
