Chapter 191 The Person Who Drives Her Crazy
For the first time in her life, Jane Cooper arrived late and was not late for school but rather for work.
She was blocked by Aaron Hunter as she entered the company. He was shocked to see her and said, "What happened?"
Jane did not look very good, slightly irritable, "insomnia, accidentally slept too much."
"It's strange. If you hadn't called me back, I would have gone back to look for you because I believed someone had broken into the house, robbed you, tied you up, and blocked your mouth," explained Aaron.
"You have a great imagination," Jane replied, her eyes astringent and without the ability to roll hers.
Aaron said, "You should exercise caution when you get to the office later because Charles Lee won't be there. It's also rare for him to get a grasp on you, so there will undoubtedly be another small talk."
Jane took a deep breath to calm the emotional discomfort caused by not enough sleep.
Jane knocked on Sofia Moore's door as she was standing in front of it, and when she got the message to come in, she pushed the door open.
As Sofia sat in the office chair and walked downstairs to handle the contract, Jane slammed the door in her face and apologized to Miss Moore for being late today.
"The reason?" asked Sofia, keeping her head raised.
"I slept in," Jane remarked.
Sofia raised her eyes, "Slept in? It's been at least ten years since I've heard such an explanation."
Jane said, "I will pay attention from now on."
Then, while still speaking, Sofia lowered her head and said, "According to the dating situation around you right now, there are some things I shouldn't have said, it would be offensive to say, it's best to turn a blind eye, but so many eyes in the company are watching, no one can be a special case, so there are some things I still have to say to you clearly."
"No matter who you teach as a tutor, you cannot pull the outside into the company because company regulations are rules. Colleague harmony is still present. I'm not sure how many other Forward Education exist in S City, but I don't want the business to be associated with bullying."
Jane felt uncomfortable as she continued to listen. She was merely late. How did she become a bully?
"Miss Moore, everything you have to say may be said straight, no matter what news you heard."
Sofia questioned, "Haven't I made it clear enough?"
Jane said, "I'm not sure whom you are referring to by bullying others."
Both Jane and Sofia were in a calm way as Sofia raised her head and looked at Jane. After a brief moment of mutual eye contact, Sofia added, "If you are unsure, that is better. I hope you aren't that way."
Jane said, "You are impartial people, I tell the truth to you. I don't enjoy bullying others, but I also don't enjoy being the target of bullying. Everyone collaborates, and if they get along well, they will support one another. If the connection is bad, they ought to communicate less. There is no requirement to make traps. Do you agree?"
Jane grinned, but her smile didn't extend all the way to his eyes.
She was a bit grumpy today, she did not sleep well last night. Sofia reprimanded her as soon as she opened her eyes after suffering from insomnia for several hours under Edward Smith. She could have pretended to be a coward to get by, but she did not want to act cowardly now.
People who have known Jane for more than five years know that she is a wolf in sheep's clothing, don't mess with her.
After a little period of silence, Sofia added, "Your statements will make me assume that you wish to get rid of violence in the company." Sofia had not anticipated Jane to be so strong.
Jane said, "You didn't misunderstand, that's what I meant."
Sofia's expression changed slightly, "The company is not a market, who is a mob? You have no right to get rid of it, even if there is."
"You have the right to assign me to greet customers, but you do not have the authority to force me to hold back the hostility," Jane replied. "I am not merely to see if others are offended."
Because of Jane's strong sense of defiance in these comments, Sofia sternly reprimanded her,"Jane, I'm talking to you about work. Pay attention to the tone of your speech!"
Jane instantly remembered last night when Edward claimed she had attitude issues and had to press the head to get her to accept her errors. She didn't say this sentence was fine.
Now Sofia was, too.
Jane had been holding her annoyance in all night, and at this hushed moment, she suddenly asked,"What exactly is wrong with my attitude? You are seated, I'm standing, and your voice is high while mine is low. Are you really asking me these questions only because my responses don't live up to your expectations?"
Jane appeared unconcerned and vigilant with a few seductive looks while Sofia's gaze suddenly became more intense, like a hawk focusing on a dangerous foe.
They both had frigid eyes, and the atmosphere was ice with fire. Jane's phone rang, and it was Justin Smith.
"Sorry, I have to accept a call from a customer first," she said as she picked up the phone and looked at Sofia.
Then she turned around and left the office. Sofia stared at Jane through the transparent glass, hating her teeth.
Justin asked, "What happened to you? The driver said he didn't pick you up."
Jane said, "You tell the driver to wait for me again. I've slept in, I'm reporting to the leader, and I'll be downstairs later."
Justin chuckled at her, "You've slept in too?"
Jane cursed Edward once more in her head. He wanted to gradually prove her wrong, and this was the outcome he got.
"You need to get moving and eat breakfast on your own because it is too late for me to buy for you today. I'm not going to chat with you beforehand."
After a brief conversation, the phone hung up. Jane turned around with a smile on her face and entered Sofia's office once more.
Sofia lowered her head and said, "What are you doing in here again?"
Jane asked, "What else do you want to criticize?"
I can't criticize you because I risk being fired again, Sofia replied in an odd voice.
Jane said, "Then I'll leave first."
Sofia's expression became so furious when she heard the door being pulled open and shut that she was unable to write with her pen. Jane was too crazy for her clients.
She will never know for the rest of her life that Jane was so angry with Edward.
Jane hastily made her way downstairs to Smith's home after leaving the workplace. She went back and forth an hour and a half later than normal.
When Edward came home at noon, he thought that Jane had left long ago. He paused in his steps and a look of surprise crossed his eyes as he came face to face with her just as she down the stairs. Jane was indignant after taking one look at his face. She cried out "Mr. Smith," brushed past him, and left at a fast pace.
Edward didn't say a word from start to finish. He was still a little confused until Jane walked out the door. He was reflecting on the three calls he had placed to her on his phone, all of which lasted between a few seconds and a few minutes.
He had been drinking too much yesterday and was disoriented. She appeared to have apologized to him, but Edward only barely recalled this. He was in a good mood today and was seeking for an opportunity to confirm it because of that thinking. Well, after seeing everything with his own eyes, he wondered why she didn't just apologize but also seemed worse than before.
