Chapter 189 He Can't Let It Go

Chapter 189 He Can't Let It Go
Edward swore that nobody made him so angry like this in his life, and nobody could or dared to do this.
Edward had felt vexed several times, and he almost forgot why he got angry at Jane. They got along well on the night of her birthday. However, Jane's birthday was Edward's nightmare. On the birthday of the solar calendar, Jane pulled his hair and beat him; on the birthday of the lunar calendar, she put cake all over his body.
Did he offend her? He was tolerant enough for her.
However, Jane didn't eat in his house and refused to live in his apartment. She cut almost all the connection with him, and in the end, she even duped him, saying that she had to be self-aware.
Good. Well done. Excellent!
For two weeks, Edward went everywhere with a long face. The staff in his game company was scared by his behavior, so they even worked overtime. Other companies heard that he'd laid off a dozen employees, so they all avoided pissing him off. Even friends around him also wondered who had irritated him.
Vincent called Edward, "Come out tonight."
Edward said, "What's up?"
Vincent said, "Henry did quite well in the test, so I'll be the host. I've asked Henry to invite Jane to have dinner together."
Edward said in a deep voice, "Do you do it on purpose?"
Vincent said, "Do I?"
Edward kept silent, so Vincent speculated, "Are you still mad at Jane?"
Edward didn't deny it.
Vincent said, "It's been a long time. You've embarrassed her in public last time, so what else can't you get over?"
Edward couldn't say that Jane secretly pissed him off, and he could only say with a long face, "Either you guys have dinner with Jane, or we have dinner without Jane. Don't get together."
Jane wanted to draw a clear line between her and Edward, so he would fulfill her wish.
Vincent didn't know whether to laugh or cry and said, "Why are you so petty? If you really don't like her, just dismiss her, and she won't go to your house and make you unpleasant."
Edward said, "She is Justin's tutor but not my tutor."
Vincent said, "Yes, for the sake of Justin, you don't have to be angry at her. Come on. Do me a favor to celebrate for Henry."
Edward kept silent. Vincent knew Edward just talked tough, and he had already agreed.
On the other side, Henry called Jane and invited her to have dinner with him tonight. However, Jane praised Henry but declined his invitation. She had made an appointment with Jennifer, and she invited Henry to come to her home at the weekend to celebrate.
Vincent called Edward again and said in a teasing tone, "You don't have to meet the person you don't want to see."
Edward's mood slightly changed. He tried not to ask about the reason, and he said, "It's better."
Vincent wanted to laugh and said, "You always say that you don't want to meet Jane, but she actually doesn't want to meet you. She declined Henry's invitation, and maybe it's because she knows you will come, and she doesn't want to see your black face."
Edward had been frustrated by Jane over and over, and he didn't know whether he was angry or calm. He said as usual, "You've spoiled her."
Hearing Edward's words, Vincent laughed and said, "Did I spoil her? No, I didn't. You introduced Jane to me, and you have so many requirements for me. You're afraid that I will have a bad influence on her, so I've followed your orders, treating her as politely as possible. However, now she refused the invitation, and you said I've spoiled her. Who do you think has spoiled her, you or me?"
Edward also didn't know who spoiled Jane. She was young, but she was bad-tempered, acting like hiding a dagger behind her smile. She would politely speak to Edward even if she was extremely angry.
Edward said in an unhappy tone, "Don't put your own business on me."

Vincent could see Edward's face through the phone. He said, holding back his laugh, "You won't say nothing but just get angry. It's not like you. You can say it out about your feelings. You and Jane have a conflict, so she even doesn't accept Henry's invitation. Just now, Henry secretly asked me whether Jane is still angry at you or not, so she won't come. How can I reply to him? If I say yes, I will make you weak. If I say no, Henry will think that Jane doesn't want to join him. I am in a dilemma."
If Edward was as sober as usual, he would at once know that Vincent was seeing the fun and stirring the trouble. However, he was annoyed by Jane, and he couldn't think as usual. He only thought that Vincent was right because he got Henry involved. He wasn't a good brother.
Edward said, "Tell me now. Where do we have dinner?"
Edward was miffed, so he didn't want to continue their talk.
Vincent told Edward the address, and Edward quickly hung up. Although Edward had hung up, he was still angry at Jane. He wanted to call Jane and ask her what she thought about it several times. She could ignore him, but she even didn't accept Henry's invitation. Did she deliberately embarrass him?
Considering several times, Edward decided not to call her because he didn't want to talk to her.
In the evening, in the restaurant's private room, Edward and Justin entered together. Justin greeted Vincent and Henry, "Hi, Uncle Vincent. Henry."
Henry greeted Edward, "Brother Edward."
Edward prepared a gift for Henry, which was his company's latest simulation gun game set, and Henry took it, saying, "Thank you, Brother Edward."
Vincent said from beside, "He just improved his grades a little bit, and you give him the 'sugar-coated gift'. What's your intention?"
Edward didn't look at Vincent, and he said to Henry, "I've asked people to order a set of Legos for you. It will be delivered these days."
Only then did Henry smile and say, "Thank you, Brother Edward."
Justin sat and played with his phone without any expression, so Vincent asked, "Why are you unhappy, Justin?"
Justin said, "No, I'm not."
Vincent continued, "Is it because Miss Cooper doesn't come?"
Edward wanted to glare at Vincent, but he just kept silent and drank tea as usual.
Justin said lightly, "She has something to do and can't come."
Vincent smiled and said, "Maybe she is afraid of your Uncle Edward and doesn't dare to come."
Justin said, "She is not even afraid of ghosts. Will she be afraid of Uncle Edward?"
Vincent was suddenly amused and kept laughing. Edward felt like getting stuck in his throat, and he couldn't drink his tea.
The waiter came in to take the order. Vincent ordered drinks for the two children, and he would drink wine with Edward. Edward was in a bad mood, taking wine as a drink.
Without Jane during the dinner, Henry and Justin basically had nothing to say. Edward and Vincent talked about business, which was extremely boring.
After about half an hour, Justin and Henry finished eating, and then they played with their phones. After a while, Edward and Vincent also finished talking, so the dinner just painlessly ended.
Edward asked people to send Justin back, and he went to the game company. The staff showed him the latest version of the skins, and he thought they were quite good. On the spot, he told the staff to knock off, and then he invited all staff to have dinner.
Edward was already very drunk after the second round of drinking, but he always kept a clear head. He knew that Jane didn't save face for his face, and she also gave him attitude.
After midnight, Edward was sent back to a house in the center of the city, and after the person left, Edward took out his phone and called Jane in a daze.
Jane went to bed early. She didn't mute her phone as usual, so she was directly woken up by the call. She squinted and found that it was 1:58 a.m., and Edward was calling her.
She hesitated to pick up the call. Finally, she picked it up because she was afraid that Edward had something urgent for her.
