Chapter 12 Money Makes the Mare Go
Jane even waved her hand at the camera provocatively. With her beautiful and innocent face, no one would dislike her.
If she was not afraid at all, there would be no point in them keeping her locked up. Sure enough, a few minutes later, with a click, the door was opened from the outside. Hearing the sound, Jane walked to the door. As soon as she opened the door, she found that there was no one outside but two big dogs, a Tibetan Mastiff and a German Shepherd, stood in front of her with fierce faces.
Jane didn't dare to underestimate the power of dogs, especially fierce dogs. She stood still for a few seconds, then took out a pen from her bag and held it up in front of the two dogs, saying tentatively, "Sit down."
Looking up at the pen, the two big dogs sat down in front of Jane two seconds later. She smiled immediately and said, "This can't be eaten. I'll bring you something delicious next time."
After speaking, she walked forward. Without stopping her, the two big dogs just leaned close to her legs and sniffed.
Walking into the living room, Jane looked to the sofa on the right. The boy in a white T-shirt and gray home pants was sitting on the sofa, playing with his mobile phone with his back against the cushion. His tousled hair couldn't hide the handsomeness similar to his father Edward. They both had the same domineering style.
Jane smiled and said, "Justin, you are so sweet. Thank you for the little surprise you prepared for me."
Hearing this, Justin frowned irritably.
Jane turned a blind eye and continued, "Today is our first meeting. If you don't want to get straight to the point, we can also chat and get to know each other."
At only twelve years old, Justin had not yet changed his voice, but he deliberately said in a deep voice, "We hired you to work, not to chat. Do you think it is easy to make money?"
Jane smiled and replied, "You are so sensible that you understand that money is hard to make at such a young age. Then you should get up and get ready. Let's not waste any more time."
Justin was stunned, because he didn't expect her to reply to him like that. Although he didn't succeed in angering her, he did not get discouraged and still maintained his lazy posture as he leaned back on the sofa and started playing the game.
Jane walked unhurriedly to the window and opened the curtains vigorously. She squinted because of the harsh sunlight. After she got used to it, she opened the curtains of the entire window. The room was instantly bright.
Justin, sitting with his back to the window, frowned at the fact that the phone screen was dazzled by the sunlight. He asked displeasedly, "Who allowed you to touch anything here?"
Hearing this, Jane turned around. The sun set a golden rim around her. With a vague expression, she seemed to be smiling and replied pleasantly, "Dim light is not good for your eyes."
Justin said sullenly, "It's none of your business! Close the curtains!"
Jane said calmly, "I can draw the curtains if you ask me for help. But if you're going to order me, I'm afraid I can't help you."
Justin looked up at Jane. In the bright sun, Justin looked sullenly at Jane, whose expression was blurred.
After a few seconds of staring, Justin spoke first, "Why should I ask you for help? You are just my teacher. Don't use your identity and your age to bully me. This is my home! I'm the employer. You're the employee!" He said arrogantly and domineeringly.
He spoke very slowly, especially the last few words, for fear that Jane would not understand.
Hearing this, Jane said calmly, "Really? It turned out that you paid my salary, but I thought it was your father."
Justin's frown furrowed even deeper. Before he could refute, Jane continued, "Besides, I remember very clearly that when your father hired me, he specifically 'warned' that I came here to be a teacher, not a nanny. So you can not command me."
Leaning on the sofa, Justin stared angrily at Jane. The length of his silence proved that he had never encountered such a difficult event, but he was not willing to suffer such a loss. So he asked back, "Do you want to use my father to threaten me?"
Jane was discerning. In addition, having studied adolescent educational psychology, she could quickly analyze the psychological activities of children from their words and deeds. Based on the word 'father', she could conclude that the Smith family was very strict in educating children. Moreover, he was bluffing in order to hide the the fact that he was still afraid of adults.
Jane replied calmly and softly, "Of course not, you're right. Whatever my profession, I am employed by your family. I didn't treat you like a child. I think we can communicate like adults. What do you think? "
Justin was already on the verge of rage. If Jane continued to irritate him, he would drive her away today. Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to calm down. But now she suddenly showed weakness! He didn't speak but looked at her with less anger and more vigilance.
Before he took the initiative to ask, Jane said, "I don't want to tell you the great truth that students should be obedient and do what students should do. After all, I also had my own ideas when I was your age. I totally get it. But at the same time, you have to understand my difficulties as well. Do you think I really want to force you to do something you don't want? We are all forced. You have your task, and I also have mine. In that case, why should we make things difficult for each other?"
She understood the psychology of children of this age. The so-called little adults liked to pretend to be adults because they were not old enough. They also always felt that adults did not understand themselves. So if she wanted to gain his trust, she must first have an equal dialogue with him.
Sure enough, after hearing her words, Justin stared at her suspiciously for a moment before asking, "Are you planning to live in peace with me?"
Jane nodded sincerely.
Stop looking at her, Justin suggested sarcastically, "As long as you don't disturb me, I can not drive you away."
Jane shook her head slightly, "If you don't drive me away, I will definitely not disturb you."
Looking at Jane again, Justin sensed that she was lying.
"What do you mean?" he asked.
With her innocent expression that made people fear through a second thought, Jane smiled softly and said, "It's better to face only one fixed person instead of trying to get rid of different people every time. I respect all your hobbies and personal behaviors. You just need to cooperate with me for 100 minutes of each meeting. Other than that, it's up to you to decide whether you want to coexist peacefully or not to disturb each other. "
It turned out that she still wanted him to listen to her. Looking at Jane, Justin thought to himself that she was indeed different from the previous tutor, but they all had the same purpose.
He asked rebelliously, "Are you sure you want to respect all my hobbies and behaviors?"
Jane replied calmly with a smile, "Actually, I'm not afraid of anything that will move when it's alive and dead. If I see a ghost when I open the door one day, then I may retreat. But that's only possible. After all, there is nothing to be afraid of after seeing so many ghosts. "
