Chapter 15 Fake Sheep, New Gifts
Everyone is very concerned about Jane's state after entering the office this time. The crowd did not wait long. In less than ten minutes, she came out happily. Seeing her expression, everyone knew that arms couldn't twist thighs after all. It's not that Sofia can't beat Jane, but that Forward Education can't offend Edward.
Since ancient times, peple had known a law that big people could help to do things well. How could scholars who had read books for so many years not understand?
After get off work that night, Jane and Aaron went to a roast duck restaurant together. Pushing open the private room door, they saw that Jennifer, who had already arrived, was sitting on a chair with a mobile phone and calling someone to say that she had an appointment tonight and would invite her to dinner tomorrow.
Seeing her hang up the phone, Aaron walked in and said, "Unbealievable! I can't think of Miss Baker buying me dinner. I'm so flattered."
Jennifer raised her eyes and replied aloud, "Don't think I can invite you to dinner by calling Miss Baker. I called you here to give you a chance to invite us to dinner."
On the large round table, Aaron found a seat and sat down. He said unsurprisingly: "You are the boss of a company. Can you be more generous?"
Jennifer said, "Money should be used on the edge of the knife. Didn't you hear that I'm going to invite someone to dinner tomorrow?"
Aaron curled his lips and said, "You're a real friend."
Jane sat down and poured three cups of sour plum soup, one for herself and two for them.
She said, "Did she say she spent money to invite people to dinner? Someone else would pay for it."
Jennifer said, "Jane really knows me." Then she rolled her eyes at Aaron, "You've been with me in college for several years and still don't know me."
Aaron said, "How dare you say that? After I met you, I spent double the money on food. My parents always suspected that I had a girlfriend. If I did have a girlfriend, it would be fine. But I don't!"
Jennifer hummed, "Why are you so angry? Hormonal imbalance?"
Jane said, "He didn't scold the people he wanted to scold. He felt wronged and could only blow his anger at you."
After curious inquiries, Jennifer found out what happened at Forward Education during the day. Since there are real friends in the private room, she said bluntly, "It's so happy! After holding it back for so long, you finally said it."
"Some people just have a harmless face," Aaron said.
Jane responded, "Is she actually ruthless?"
Aaron laughed, "You endured hardships to defeat her."
After taking a sip of sour plum soup calmly, Jane said aloud, "When I'm not qualified or capable, I have to hold back."
Jennifer said, "When you are sure, you don't need to endure it any longer, but give her a hard blow and let them experience the feeling of being caught off guard and helpless. This comes from the Art of War by Jane Cooper."
Aaron sighed, "I feel bad that I didn't have a chance to say what I was ready to say."
Jennifer said, "Come on. You're not like Jane. She was invited by Charles. But you're here for Charles. Be calm! Especially before the relationship is stable."
She deliberately accentuated the word 'emotion', which made Aaron sigh blatantly, "Oh my goodness. It's hard to find a good woman. It's even harder to find a good man."
As for Aaron's sexual orientation, Jane and Jennifer knew it many years ago. So it was not that he didn't want to fall in love, or that the people around him were not good enough, but that the people he liked did't like him.
For Jane's first day of work, Jennifer and Aaron are more nervous than she is. After learning that everything was going well, they were relieved.
During the meal, Jennifer said, "Edward is amazing. Today alone, five or six companies came to our door and expressed their willingness to cooperate with us. Some anxious companies even said that they were free to invite Miss Cooper to have dinner together, which made me both excited and scared. "
Jane said, "Don't be afraid. Edward is willing to give us a chance so we can take advantage of him. If he doesn't, do you think we can do it?"
Jennifer worried, "That's what I thought as well. But I'm afraid of you..."
Jane continued, "Whether he is a businessman or a stingy, on the basis of fairness, I will repay him double where he needs. After all, as long as he is happy, our life will be much better."
Jennifer sighed softly, "I have pity on you, my sweetie. I seem to have brought the little white sheep raised by myself to the tiger's mouth."
Jane said, "It's better to be around a tiger than to be missed by a bunch of jackals."
Aaron added, "Not to mention he's a wolf in sheep's clothing."
Edward is undoubtedly tricky. It's easy to have a relationship with him, but it's hard to end the relationship.
However, in Jane's current situation, she really needed such a person to help her. Otherwise, she would be forced to fail before she succeeded.
At the end of a meal, the three of them toasted, wishing Jennifer's new company Nasdaq success, wishing Aaron an early relationship with Charles, and wishing Jane peace...Every wish sounded impossible.
...
When Jane went to the company the next day, colleagues greeted her proactively when they met. Someone also asked her if she needed to bring her breakfast. It was warm as if she had known each other for ten years and a month. Evelyn, who was sitting in the chair honestly, didn't say anything bad, as if nothing happened yesterday.
Jane brought sandwiches and milk to Aaron who couldn't get up as usual. The Smith family also sent someone to pick her up at ten o'clock as usual. When she came downstairs and saw that it was not Edward himself, she secretly breathed a sigh of relief. She thought to herself that when Charles came back from a business trip, she would have to ask him about the Insurance and Housing Fund again.
After coming to the Smith family, Sam treated her politely and took her up to the second floor in person. Pushing the door and walking in, Jane still saw the dim living room blocked by the curtains. She skillfully came to the door of a room and knocked on the door, "Justin, are you up?"
To her surprise, Justin quickly said, "Come in."
Jane pressed the door handle and pushed forward half an arm's distance. In the bright room, Justin was sitting as far as she could see, holding an iPad in her hand. He looked at her who was still standing cautiously outside the door, and provocatively said, "What are you afraid of?"
Jane smiled and pushed the door and walked in, "I'm afraid you haven't gotten up yet."
She had walked in and didn't see anything strange. Jane turned naturally to close the door. As soon as she turned around, she saw a figure suddenly appearing at the door. Without seeing what the figure was, she instinctively stretched out her hand and locked its throat.
Feeling soft, she almost clenched into a fist. Later, she took a closer look and found that it was a zombie puppet that was slightly taller than her, dressed in a Qing Dynasty official residence. The puppet had a big white face and a bright red tongue, which was strangely infiltrating.
Without shouting from beginning to end, she lifted the doll by the neck of the zombie. She turned to Justin who was staring at her and said, "A new gift?"
Justin, who witnessed the whole process, replied slowly, "Are you still a woman?"
After putting the zombie aside, Jane said calmly, "I just don't have a third hand, or I'll just throw it over the shoulder."
Hearing this, Justin saw that Jane was carrying a cake-sized box. She put the box on the table and asked him to come over, "I also brought you a present."
