Chapter 107 Lovable and Unlovable

Chapter 107 Lovable and Unlovable
Just like a blindfolded donkey at a mill. A person can be silly for a long time, but once he removed the thing that covered his eyes, he would wake up. Beth knew that Edward Smith didn't like her. But she couldn't bear him slandering her because of other women. And also, she wouldn't love a blind man.
Heart dead just for a moment.
She looked at the man on the other side with a blank expression and asked, "Then what are you going to do now? Call the police or sue?"
Edward also remained cold face, and replied without batting an eye, "There is no need to be known to all. I can afford it."
Beth said, "Since you have nothing to do with me and insist that I'm the one who did it. Why did you help me? You can afford it, much less the Brown family. Just name your price, I'll let my assistant transfer you the money when I go back."
Edward particularly disliked her haughty manner, as if he owed her something. His eyes became indifferent, and then said, "Don't call me anymore. Let that slide."
Beth thought that she was more ruthless than Edward, but she suddenly found that her heart still hurts. She racked her brains, trying to say some tough words but only to find her mind was blank, and she could only say, "Don't regret."
After saying this, she quickly stood up and wanted to escape from this place. Just as she turned around and took few steps, a familiar male voice came from behind, "Beth."
She stood there and felt a little bit nervous. Edward rarely calls her name in person. Does he regret it?
She didn't turn around. After a while, the familiar male voice sounded again. "This is the last excuse we can give each other. If you agree, then accept it. If not, do not point your finger at anyone, the buck stops with me."
Beth's heart was broken. She turned around, faced Edward and said coldly, "Just get to the point. Who do you want to warn me not to harass?"
Edward had no patience and pulled his long face. "Stay away from Jane."
Beth has always been dreaming of being the one he protects. But she never thought that one day he would put her on the spot for other women again and again.
Tears welled up in her eyes, regardless of the image, she just said fiercely, "You are insane. Why do you still believe her though you've already known that she was cheating on you? Sooner or later, she will bring you a big trouble!"
Her voice suddenly got sharp. Though the people outside couldn't hear clearly, they could guess that there must be a quarrel inside the door. Edward, who would never make himself look bad, was suddenly so annoyed and speechless. "I don't mind." he said in a indifferent tone.
Hearing this, Beth was extremely angry and even wanted to kill him. Finally, she laughed and said, "Fine, just wait and see. Edward, mark my words. She will definitely play you like a fiddle one day. Or if not, I'll eat my hat!"
She was furious and then slammed the door and left. The assistant was so frightened that only dared to pull the door shut without showing her head.
Edward was also holding his anger back. He pulled his long face and lit a cigarette. "What the f**k! She is even not my real girlfriend. Why did she scold a woman who has nothing to do with her? What a lunatic!" he said secretly.
Usually when the door was closed, people wouldn't know what happened inside. But the news that Beth and Edward Smith had a falling out in the office spread like wildfire. Vincent called Edward at a later time.
"I heard that you broke down with Beth?"
Edward was indifferent. And it was obvious that he was still angry. "Go find her, if you want to know the gossip."
Vincent said, "Don't get me wrong. I'm just curious about that. Did she admit it?"
"You tell me."

Vincent said, "Are you sure she put someone up to it?"
Edward said, "If I am sure, I won't let her bared her teeth and blame the problem on me."
Vincent said, "Her second assistant is really suspicious. But Beth doesn't look like the sort of person to do that. You didn't figure it out and then chewed her out publicly. Are you taking the opportunity to drive her out?"
Edward did not deny it. "She has been an eyesore for a long time."
Vincent said with a spurious smile, "Women like Beth is not likable at all. They doesn't even know what a man wants. Being tough on men could only get nothing."
Edward was noncommittal. Then Vincent continued, "Since Beth has been blown off, what are you going to do next? The one behind all this hasn't been caught yet."
Edward said, "Since I have already checked several times, it is not the one in the company. But the second assistant of Beth must have something to do with this. Or she wouldn't rush to resign and backed to her hometown, where I have already asked someone to spy on her."
Vincent asked tentatively, "So you have never doubted Jane?"
Not joking, Edward replied seriously this time, "If she did do it, then I think she is a good pretender." At least in front of him, there was no flaw at all.
Vincent said, "How about feeling her out?"
Edward said, "I've said that she is so cunning and could easily knew your intention."
Vincent said, "Then do nothing? It felt like you are protecting her. No wonder Beth fell out with you."
Edward replied irritably, "Do you know what is called reverse psychology? Stop harping on me! Do you want to be the next Beth?"
Vincent smiled and said immediately, "No! I am not possessive, and also Jane is not my rival in love. So be safe."
Edward was agitated. Originally, he was just the boss of Jane. And it was those senseless people who keep saying like this, making him look like an idiot who lost his mind for coveting the beauty. While when it comes to beauty, he was more angry and even blamed Jane for being too good-looking for a moment. It was just like the Helen of Troy. No wonder once she showed up, she would make a trouble.
Not being in the mood, Edward didn't want to talk to Vincent and hung up after a few words. So he didn't know that Vincent called Jane later and invited her out to dinner to talk about the mole.
After Jane agreed, Vincent called Edward again. "You want a piece?" Edward said in a low voice.
Vincent was insufferable, and then he said quite cheerfully on purpose, "How about eating out? A bad mood could be caused by hunger."
Edward said word by word, "Get off my back, okay?"
Vincent said calmly, "You won't come? OK! Then I'll go with Jane."
Edward suddenly had a tic in his right eye.
Forty minutes later, Jane appeared at the door of the private room. She knocked on the door and went in. There were already two people sitting at the table. Vincent Perez looked at her and greeted her with a smile, "Hey!"
Jane responded with a smile too. She walked inside and said, "Mr. Perez, Mr. Smith."
Edward raised his eyes. He first saw Jane's face, and then glanced at the exquisite cake box in her hand.
Jane put the box on the table and said with a smile, "Mr. Perez said that you are not in a good mood today. So I bought a cake for you downstairs. "
She was not the type of person full of flattery or fortitude. Just in the middle. How should he put it? She was just adorable.
Edward said nothing. And Vincent has already smiled. "Thank you, Miss Cooper."
Edward glanced at him, "Shut up!"
Since they grew up together, Edward has already known what Vincent was thinking. Being afraid that he would speak that out, he put a gag on him in advance.
Vincent was used to grinning, thinking that it was no wonder Beth was refused. Look at Jane.
