Chapter 66 One Feels Dirty, One's Afraid of Blood
Jane's professional ethics was not to have private contact with clients if unnecessary, so even if Vincent mentioned Edward and Justin, she still politely said, "No, later I still have..."
Just as her reason was about to come out, Vincent's mobile phone rang. He answered, "I just wanted to call you. I've picked up Henry and Miss Cooper, but she said she would not go..."
A second later, Vincent handed the phone to Jane. "It's Edward."
Jane quickly took it and answered, "Hello, Mr. Smith."
Edward's voice came from the phone, "Let's have dinner together. Vincent has something to tell you."
Then, Justin's voice came, "I have something to tell you too."
Jane had no choice but to agree.
Edward hung up, and Jane returned the phone to Vincent. Vincent said, "Miss Cooper, don't be nervous. We're friends from now on."
Jane smiled, "You are too kind."
Vincent said, "It's a fateful coincidence that we meet."
Henry said without much enthusiasm, "Then you have a fate with most of the people in S City."
Vincent turned his head and raised his hand to touch Henry's head, saying, "You kid, could you save face for your brother?"
Henry was very concerned about his hairstyle and immediately ducked away. Jane said, "The head can be cut off, but the hairstyle can't be messed up."
Vincent smiled, "You know him."
They went to the restaurant by car. When opening the door of the private room, they saw Edward and Justin had already arrived. There were two seats between them. They were both looking at the mobile phone, with poker faces.
Henry said, "Edward."
Justin said, "Uncle Vincent, Uncle Henry."
First hearing this, Jane still wondered who the uncle was? Then hearing Henry's 'um', she smiled, "Mr. Smith."
Edward said, "Sit down."
The waiter came in with the menu, but Edward didn't even look at it. Vincent handed the menu to Jane and let her order.
Jane put the menu in front of Justin, "I'm not fussy. Let Justin order."
Justin said, "Today is mainly to invite you to dinner. Why do I order?"
Vincent laughed and said, "You're also invited. Usually, it's not easy to invite you."
Justin ordered three dishes and returned the menu to Jane who handed it to Henry. Vincent joked, "Order whatever you want to eat. Henry must be exhausted after studying for an afternoon. You have to eat two more bowls of rice today."
Henry seemed to be used to being laughed at by Vincent and ordered a few dishes with a long face. Jane ordered some dessert and soup in the end.
The waiter went out with the menu. Justin got up and said, "Excuse me."
Vincent said to Henry, "Go out with Justin."
Henry was speechless, "We're not girls. Why should we go to the restroom together?"
Vincent said with a smile, "Our adults have something to say. Couldn't you take the hint?"
Henry stood up in disgust and muttered as he walked out, "Why didn't you say that directly?"
The two children went out, and there were only three adults left in the room. Vincent poured a cup of tea for Jane, and she hurriedly said, "Thank you, Mr. Perez."
Vincent said, "I'm the one who should say thank you. I heard that Henry was very cooperative in class today and asked for two classes."
Jane replied, "Henry learns quickly. As long as he wants to learn, he can learn well. It's not a problem to improve his grades."
Vincent said, "You do have the ability. Our family has changed teachers no less than Edward. The older the child is, the harder it is to manage. He won't listen to you, or worse, his pride may be injured. My mom pampered and managed him at the same time. She didn't know how to teach him, and you saw it the other day. She only has two policies: this is not good, and that is not good. Some words are right or wrong, you can just listen, please don't mind."
Jane said, "I completely understand Mrs. Perez's feelings. There is no reason why the parents don't want their children to be good."
Vincent said, "Henry and Justin are in similar situations. They don't go to school, and they can't get along with their teachers and classmates. I heard from Edward that you get along well with Justin. I hope you can also get along well with Henry in the future. You can take him as a student, and if you want, you can also be friends with him. Although he has a bad temper, he's very kind and is better than me and Edward anyway."
Edward said in a deep voice, "You're saying yourself. Why do you talk about me?"
Vincent said, "Originally, the two children are better than you and me, and I am better than you, so you're the worst."
Edward glared at him coldly and said, "He took you out today because he wanted to tell you that don't listen to his mother. You can teach in your way. Grades are of secondary importance, and happiness is the first priority."
Vincent said, "This is also what Edward means."
Jane nodded. "Understood."
Vincent raised his cup and said, "Miss Cooper, Let me toast you with tea instead of wine. Please take care of Henry in the future."
Jane picked up the cup, and Vincent said to Edward, "Come on, don't you thank Miss Cooper?"
Jane looked at Edward who had a poker face and thought he would never listen to Vincent, but unexpectedly he picked up the cup at hand and toasted her across the air.
Jane finished her tea and said, "I'm going out to find them."
As soon as she left, Vincent sighed, "Tut, so beautiful, so good at taking care of children, and so observant. Whoever marries her would be happy."
Edward didn't say anything, and Vincent teased, "Tell me, what do you think?"
Edward even didn't look at him, and said, "If you want to marry her, I'll give you money as the wedding gift. If you're not serious, stay away from her."
Vincent asked with a smile, "You don't care about her at all? Look at her face and body."
Edward glanced at him coldly, "The fox preys farthest from home. Don't I have other choices?"
Vincent laughed even more happily, "Yes, you have Beth and Linda, and even Amy is fascinated by you." Speaking of this, he suddenly lowered his voice, raised his eyebrows, and asked, "How did you and Amy... Well?"
Edward flicked the ash into the ashtray. There was no expression on his handsome, angular face. He said, "I don't like this type."
Vincent glared at him, "What kind of eyes do you have? She's not gorgeous enough?"
Edward puffed out a cloud of smoke. "It's okay to look, but it's too dirty to use."
Vincent said, "She is still a virgin, and I have never heard of her with someone."
Edward said, "I feel she's dirty in my heart."
Vincent tut-tutted. Before he could tease, Edward glanced at and mocked him, "I'm not you. You care about the technique, and I depend on the mood."
Vincent said half-jokingly and half-seriously, "Then what can I do? I would faint at the sight of blood."
Edward snickered and didn't believe him.
Vincent claimed to be afraid of blood, and he couldn't see red even in bed, so everyone in the circle knew that he never had sex with virgins. The more open a girl was, the more he liked. This could be described in his words, "What goes around comes around." Therefore, it's better to find one who's open to his thought from the beginning. When their relationship ended, they could still be friends when meeting again.
