Chapter 56 Helpless and True Love

Chapter 56 Helpless and True Love
After hanging up on Charles, Jane called Aaron. After the call was connected, she held back her smile and asked meaningfully, "Do you know what day it is today?"
Aaron said angrily, "Today is the day I shouldn't go out!"
Jane changed her expression slightly, "What's wrong?"
Aaron said, "Today I was teaching a seventeen-year-old girl who was in high school. While I was teaching her, her dad suddenly came in and slapped the girl without saying a word, which made me stunned. If I hadn't stopped him, he might have punched and kicked her. I asked him what was going on. He said that the results of the school's thorough examination came out, but his daughter's scores did not meet his psychological expectations. "
"The girl's mother came up to stop him. But the man like a mad dog slapped her as well. You didn't see..."
Jane was standing in a crowded business with her mobile phone. Under the bright sun, she seemed to be in an ice cellar.
Unable to see the expression on Jane's face, Aaron still said excitedly, "I really wanted to hit that man. What a bastard! He would only dare to beat his wife and children. But her mother secretly squeezed my arm to keep me from making a sound. After losing his temper, he left. Later I found out that he was the stepfather..."
Jane looked down slightly and asked softly, "Are you all right?"
Aaron said, "The girl didn't dare to talk. She seemed to be used to being beaten. When I was talking to her mother, I asked her why she lived like this? She told me to leave it alone and only need to teach her daughter. When her score goes up, they naturally would not be beaten...Do they just want money and not life? Just for the money, they allow others to abuse themselves like this? Even if she wants to, hou could she allow others to beat her child? "
Getting more and more excited, he wished he could find the girl's stepfather now and teach him a lesson to learn to be a good man.
Compared to angry Aaron, Jane was much colder. She said aloud, "Without her stepfather, her mother probably couldn't afford such an expensive tutor."
Jane said, "Every family has its own way of life. How do you know her mother didn't tell her to study hard for exams, escaping from this cage and never coming back in the future."
Aaron said, "You didn't see how hard the slap was. Half of the girl's face was swollen. I wanted to take her to the hospital for fear of her ear injury. But she just shook her head to refuse me without saying a word, keeping studing silently. She doesn't even dare to cry."
Jane said, "Stop talking to her mother about it. She's right. If the girl does well, they don't have to be beaten."
Knowing what Aaron was going to say, Jane preemptively said, "If she wanted a divorce, she would have already done so. She didn't have the courage to divorce, and of course she didn't dare to call the police. Your words will only frighten her. Then she could quit you anytime. You're not afraid of losing a job, but you have to take care of the girl. "
Aaron was silent. He knew what Jane said was all true. After he left, if the girl was beaten again, no one would stand by her side.
For a while, the people on both sides of the phone were silent. They knew each other was there, but they didn't know what to say.
In the end, Jane comforted Aaron, "Don't be angry. You find a chance to chat with her. Since we can't change our lives for the time being, we can only change our mentality."
Aaron asked, "What are you calling me about?"

Trying to get out of her depressed mood, Jane replied, "Your Mr. Perfect is back."
Aaron immediately said, "Charles is back?"
Jane responded, "I got you a chance to have dinner together. How would you thank me?"
Aaron said, "Dinner? Only Charles and me?"
Jane couldn't help sneering, "Nice try. Actually, the three of us have dinner together!"
Aaron said, "Sholdn't you say you don't have time for the night?"
Jane laughed angrily at him. She joked, "I predict it's impossible for Charles to fall in love with you."
Aaron said solemnly, "Don't joke with me!"
Jane suddenly thought of Beth. Why wass everyone warning her not to joke? She was obviously serious.
Charles didn't go back to the office in the afternoon. Most people didn't know he was back. Edward dropped a class for Jane. She had nothing to do in the afternoon. But she still couldn't get away from Aaron. He first asked her, "Should I go back and change my clothes?"
Jane said, "No. You're handsome. And you look good in anything."
He asked again after a while, "Should I prepare a little gift for him?"
Jane said, "You can give him a piece of your oil field. Maybe he will like you when he knows you're so rich."
Aaron asked, "Should I be cheerful or steady?"
Jane said, "You can try to be sexy."
...
Charles was three years older than Jane. Both of them were taught by the same math professor. When she was a freshman, he was a senior. And when she became a graduate student, he had been ordered to stay on campus. After a few more years of study, he could directly teach in the university. He obviously had a bright future.
Aaron majored in English. In college, he spent almost four years indulgently. His family was going to call him back to take care of the family business when he was going to practice. But he was suddenly madly in love with Charles. Moreover, he also wanted Jane to introduce them to meet. At first, Jane didn't believe him. What's more, Charles had a girlfriend at the time. When Aaron chose to take the postgraduate entrance examination, everyone was shocked.
But Aaron was unlucky. He wanted to stay in school to be close to Charles. But just after he decided to take the postgraduate entrance examination, Charles left school to start a business. Both Jane and Jennifer thought Aaron must have given up. They didn't expect him to be so firm. He not only became a graduate student, but also got a teacher's qualification certificate. After graduating, he even managed to squeeze into Forward Education in S City.
Aaron's affection for Charles didn't touch Charles. After all, Charles and he were just acquaintances. In reality, they barely communicated.
Jane persuaded Aaron for a long time to stop Aaron from going to the mall to buy clothes and get her hair done. After get off work in the evening, they came to the restaurant as scheduled. The clerk took them to the door of the private room and opened the door. Charles had arrived.
Hearing the sound, Charles turned his head. He had a face that was at least five years younger than his actual age. He was clean but not handsome. Especially in front of Aaron, he was obviously not as handsome as Aaron.
Standing up, Charles greeted with a smile, "Good evenning."
Jane was natural. Aaron was so nervous that his eyes narrowed. He said, "Good evenning, Mr. Lee."
Charles laughed, "We're not in company. You can call me by my name."
Jane teased him deliberately, "How do you want to call Charles?"
Charles, the good character, said casually, "It's fine. Call me whatever you want."
Aaron said silently in his heart, "Darling."
