Chapter 81: Because Of Love
Jane said, "Charles is fond of delicious food, and he knows a lot about food. If he likes the food cooked by you, maybe he'll fall in love with you."
Aaron only returned one word, "Okay!"
She could feel his excitement across the screen.
Instead of disappointing him, she kindly reminded him, "Can you cook?"
Aaron replied on Jane all year round, and she always cooked for him. He said without thinking, "You can cook, can't you?"
Jane quickly replied, "What does my cooking skill have to do with you? Should I cook for you in the kitchen when you cuddle each other in the living room?"
Aaron asked directly, "Tell me what you want."
Jane said, "I want you to stay away from me."
Aaron was straightforward. He immediately sent her a begging emoji and transferred money to her.
Jane couldn't help laughing, "You know me, don't you? Neither poverty nor humbleness can make me swerve from principle."
Aaron said, "So I transferred money to you. Please help me."
Jane said, "Well, make an appointment with him first and see if he has time. If he agrees, I'll help you prepare in advance. At that time, all you need to do is to put the pan on the gas burner."
Aaron replied to her with a happy emoji.
Jane shook her head helplessly.
......
On Thursday afternoon, Jane went to the Perez family. Rachel was no longer snooty. She greeted Jane with a smile on her face.
When Jane entered Henry's room, a nanny followed her with a large plate of fruit, snacks, and ice creams.
Henry lay on the bed with his back to the door. Hearing the sound, he turned his head and frowned, "I don't eat it. Take it out."
The nanny was in a dilemma and coaxed him, "You didn't eat anything at noon. It's better to eat some fruit."
Henry became angrier and said impatiently, "I won't eat! I told you not to bring food here! Take it away!"
The nanny was afraid of him and immediately turned around with the plate.
Seeing this, Jane asked, "Why are you so mad? What happened?"
Henry turned over and got up. His chubby face looked unhappy as he said in a gloomy voice, "Let's start."
It was rare for him to study on his own initiative. Jane sat down suspiciously. Less than five minutes later, someone knocked on the open door. Turning her head, she saw Rachel. She was holding a delicate dinner plate with two sandwiches and a roast sausage. She walked in, "Henry..."
Henry was extremely excited and shouted, "Take it away!"
Rachel stood in place, saying angrily and sadly, "You didn't eat breakfast and lunch! What on earth do you want?"
Henry said, "Can you go out? Don't bother me. I ate an apple, and I won't die."
Rachel glanced at Jane and suddenly put the plate next to her, "Miss Cooper, just talk to him. He's too disobedient."
After Rachel left, Henry leaned over, picked up the plate, and poured the food into the dustbin silently before Jane could say anything.
Jane looked at him for a moment without blinking, and whispered, "Does your mother poison the food?"
Henry said with a straight face, "It's not funny at all."
Jane stared at Henry's face and asked tentatively, "Are you on a diet?"
Henry turned his pen irritably, "Yeah, can't you understand?"
Jane said, "Why do you suddenly go on a diet?"
Henry was so hungry that he felt dizzy. He turned his head and said, "I have my reason."
Jane looked at him up and down and asked, "How heavy are you?"
Henry's head was in buzz, and he felt dizzier. He simply closed his eyes and leaned against the wide leather seat.
Jane smiled silently, and then said solemnly, "You can't lose weight in this way."
Henry said, "Don't try to lecture me."
Jane said, "Well, there's no smoke without fire. Who asks you to lose weight?"
Henry didn't answer, and he rolled his eyes uneasily.
Jane whispered, "Are you in a relationship? Or Has the girl you like fallen in love with someone else?"
Hearing this, Henry didn't roll his eyes anymore. He slowly took a deep breath, and he couldn't breathe steadily.
Jane still whispered, "There are lots of well-built young men in this world, but they're ordinary. Your interesting soul makes you special. Why do you have to make yourself ordinary just to cater to someone who has an ordinary eye for beauty?"
She told a joke to ease the atmosphere. To her surprise, Henry didn't respond to her. After a long time, his long eyelashes trembled slightly. The next second, the roots of his eyelashes were wet with tears.
Jane immediately took out a tissue, covered his eyes, and whispered, "Don't cry. You'll be embarrassed if your family members see this."
Sure enough, her words worked. Henry cover his eyes with the tissue and turned his head. Jane got up, gently closed the door, and turned to look at him, "Am I right?"
Henry was a little fat guy whose gruff exterior concealed one of the softest hearts. Jane didn't expect him to cry so suddenly. When she approached him, she whispered, "Do you want to talk to me?"
Henry took the tissue off his eyes, looked down, and said, "Teach me the lesson first."
Jane said, "If you're in a bad mood, just relax and I can teach you another day."
Henry said, "I feel better when you're here. I don't want to talk to anyone else."
Jane replied, "Then let's finish the class first."
That day, they had two classes very smoothly, and Henry was particularly quiet. He didn't move around, nor was he absent-minded. Jane was afraid that his mind would wander, but he asked her questions very seriously.
During this period, the nanny came to the door to eavesdrop. Hearing that Jane was teaching Henry, she turned back and reported it to Rachel.
Henry seldom communicated with Rachel. She didn't know what happened to him, and he didn't want to eat anything, which made her very anxious, but she could do nothing about it. Finally, Jane came out of Henry's room. She asked Jane to go to the study and asked, "Miss Cooper, did Henry tell you why he's unhappy?"
Jane said, "Children at this age always have many ideas. Don't worry, and don't force him. Let him stay alone for a while."
Rachel said, "If he tells you anything, you can tell me secretly. I promise I won't disturb him."
Jane replied, "He didn't say anything to me."
Rachel didn't know whether Jane was telling the truth or not, and she could not stop her from leaving. She chatted with Jane for a while and asked the nanny to see her off.
Outside the housing estate, a black Audi was stopped by the side of the road. Jane opened the door, got in, and asked, "Have you bought everything?"
Aaron sat in the driver's seat and said, "I've bought everything on your list."
Jane sniffed and turned her head. Sure enough, she saw a large bunch of fresh lilies on the back seat.
She said, "Do you want to give the flowers to Charles by yourself?"
Aaron said, "I'm not so crazy. I'd better not scare him because this is the first time I've invited him to my house. Anyway, I have enough time."
Jane sighed, "I don't know whether Charles is lucky or unlucky."
Aaron looked at her gloomily. Jane said, "I mean if he doesn't know how good you're and how much you love him, he's unlucky."
