Chapter 222 Someone Didn't Like But Someone Liked Crazily
Justin hid his happiness at the bottom of his heart and said calmly, "How about playing ball after dinner?"
Jane asked, "What kind of ball?"
Justin said, "You play table tennis with Uncle Edward, and I play basketball."
Jane looked at Edward. Edward looked as usual and said, "I won't let you win just because I eat the food cooked by you."
Obviously, he admitted that he had time. Jane took advantage of the opportunity and said, "I am looking forward to your victory."
She inadvertently mocked him that he had never won. Edward raised his eyes and asked, "Do you want a bet?"
Jane casually said, "If I lose, the rackets will belong to you."
Edward resisted the impulse to despise her and seriously said, "Your rackets are only worth twenty dollars. Why should I take them?"
Jane said without thinking, "They're worth thirty-five dollars. The key is not the money, but the game you lose with the rackets. It's very memorable to win it back."
The more Edward listened, the more he felt that she was smiling kindly with other intentions. It was clear that she was mocking him, but she had a high-sounding excuse.
After a pause, he said, "Okay, let's bet on the rackets." Jane couldn't tell whether he was happy or mad.
Justin ate silently, but he was overjoyed in his heart because there was going to be a good show at night. But he should drink less juice, otherwise, they would finish the last game secretly soon as he went to the bathroom.
During the dinner, the postprandial entertainment had been decided. When they were chatting casually, Edward's phone screen lit up. It was still the unfamiliar number. Edward recognized it at a glance. It was Amy calling him.
A trace of impatience flashed across his eyes. He pressed the answer button and said, "Hello?"
Amy was anxious and scared. "Mr. Smith, your people are fighting with those who are from another city. There are many of them, and I'm scared..."
Before she finished her words, Edward heard the sound of hitting something with a heavy object. There was a loud noise. It seemed that a large piece of glass was broken. Then he heard a man's abusive voice. The man seemed to want to break in.
Amy's voice trembled. "Mr. Smith..."
Her cry for help was very short and stopped abruptly, leaving only endless imagination.
At the dinner table, Justin and Jane both heard it clearly. They put down their chopsticks with different expressions.
Edward frowned. He was not worried about Amy but simply disgusted with the whole thing. He had sent some people there, but those people even dared to fight with his people. It was really unreasonable.
He dialed back patiently, but there was only a beeping sound and no one answered.
Jane glimpsed his unhappy expression, thinking that he was worried about Amy, so she hurriedly said, "Mr. Smith, is there something wrong? Go and have a look."
Edward got up and said, "You eat here."
Jane stood up to see him off. Edward went to the sofa and picked up his coat. "You don't have to see me off."
She watched him go out. The door was opened and then closed. Only Jane and Justin were left in the living room in the twinkling of an eye.
Jane walked back and sat down. She glanced at Justin who was calm and comforted him. "It's all right. Don't worry."
Justin didn't even look up and picked up a piece of fish. "Who says I'm worried? Even if I'm worried, I should worry about the man who provokes Uncle Edward."
Jane was always easily amused. She couldn't help smiling and said, "That's right. You really know your Uncle Edward well."
After Edward left, Jane was more relaxed. She used the serving chopsticks to pick up some food for Justin. "Eat more. It will be a waste if we can't finish the food."
Justin said, "Why didn't you stop Uncle Edward? Why did you persuade him to go?"
Jane said, "How could I stop him? Didn't you hear that there was a fight?"
Justin said, "A woman called him. Aren't you curious at all?"
Jane smiled faintly and said, "I even know her name. You don't know her name."
Seeing how unconcerned she was, Justin was a little angry and said with disappointment, "It's said that women are particularly jealous of each other. What's wrong with you? Are you not a woman?"
Jane said, "Only rivals in love are particularly jealous of each other, okay? According to you, women can't get along with each other peacefully in this world."
Justin said simply, "Do you really dislike Uncle Edward?"
He had asked this question many times, so Jane had gotten used to it. Her expression didn't change as she said, "Don't worry. My intention towards him is simpler than my intention towards you."
Justin raised his eyes and asked, "What intention do you have towards me?"
Jane said, "You and I can be friends. But as for your Uncle Edward, I think it's good to maintain our current relationship. I don't dare to ask for anything else."
Justin said, "How do you know the result if you don't ask for anything else?"
Jane looked at him. "Brother, brother Justin, show me some respect. I just want to be an ordinary person. Don't mislead me, will you?"
Just as Justin was about to speak, Jane said first, "I understand that your Uncle Edward is particularly nice and excellent. He is a genius, so an ordinary person like me should have a clear estimation of myself. I don't deserve him, so I won't force him to be with me. You don't need to sound me out. I promise that I don't want to be with your Uncle Edward. If I lie, you can do as you please."
Justin originally wanted to say something, but she rendered him speechless. In fact, he wanted to say that if she was in a relationship with Edward, he could agree reluctantly.
However, Jane was in a hurry to disassociate herself from Edward and almost swore.
Justin looked down and ate silently. He didn't know whether he was angry at Jane or Edward, or perhaps he was angry because he couldn't see them play table tennis this night.
Edward drove to Redmoon Club. On the way, he called the person and asked what was going on there. As a result, there was a real fight. A group of people who came from another city drank too much and acted recklessly. They showed no respect though Edward's name was mentioned. Naturally, Edward's people were aggressive, so they quarreled and fought.
They were locked in a big private room. The sound insulation effect was good, and others couldn't hear anything outside. The entertainment woman was scared and ran out to inform the news. Edward's people were there, so the staff of Redmoon Club couldn't call the police. They could only ask people to go in and help. During this period, Amy hid in the bathroom and called Edward. Halfway through the conversation, someone smashed the door and dragged her out.
In the private room, there was a mess. She was dragged to the man smoking with his back against the sofa. Someone said, "Mr. Evans asks you again if you're willing to accompany him and play with him outside."
Amy glanced at those who were pressed in the dark. There were security guards in Redmoon Club and people sent by Edward.
Edward had been arrogant in S City, and no one dared to offend him. He called his subordinate to bring Amy out, and his subordinate thought it was a small thing, so he only brought three people here. Unexpectedly, the people in the private room pressed them without saying a word.
At present, the situation was clear at a glance. Amy was silent for a long time before she said, "Sorry, Mr. Evans, I can't accompany you."
As soon as she said this, the man next to her suddenly slapped her in the face. She fell on the table and felt so dizzy.
Half of her face was numb. In a trance, she saw the man on the sofa leaning forward. He had a very young face. He was not ugly, and he looked handsome. While blaming the man who slapped Amy, he reached out to help Amy up, pulled her to his front, and softly asked, "Does it hurt?"
Amy was silent. He raised his hand to touch her face, but she subconsciously dodged.
The man said, "Won't you accompany me?"
Amy's mouth was full of the smell of blood. She looked down and said, "I'm sorry..."
Before she finished her words, she suddenly cried painfully. The man kicked her leg bone. Amy had never suffered like this. Her knees went limp instantly and she knelt directly in front of the man.
