Chapter 31 Unable to Escape

Chapter 31 Unable to Escape
Jane moved house quickly when she didn't need to go to the Smith's. She had few things, and she picked them up within two suitcases. Aaron had boasted to help her, but finally he turned to the moving company to schlep his things to the Rhine Garden. Oh! Well, upholding the principle of where there was Jane, there was Aaron, he lived downstairs in her new house, 102.
There was a world of difference between the new and the old community. The environment of Rhine Garden was much better than that of the previous old community. The area of a built-in open-air swimming pool alone was larger than the whole activity area of the previous community.
Jennifer, as a native, disguised herself as a salesperson. Jane and Aaron were guided around the community bu her. Jennifer said, "This is a high-end community newly built the year before last. The price is about 120,000 $ per square meter. If you rent the one you live, it won't t be lower than 40,000 $ a month. Enjoying the beautiful sumptuous surroundings here, I'll have less complaints against Edward."
Jane said, "Do you dare to speak to him?"
Jennifer glanced at her and asked in a serious tone, "You won't betray your friend and snitch on me to him, right?"
Jane just asked a question in return, "Tell me. What can I get by telling him what you said?"
Aaron said from the side, "The price of betraying you is high. We can't win promotion or get rich. Maybe we'll make trouble for our relatives and friends."
Suddenly a smile lifted the corner of Jane's mouth. She said, "What if I'm a long-tongued woman and betray my friend on impulse?"
Aaron smiled the same way, "That's right. We're indeed hotheads."
Jennifer saw that their words echo each other, but there was nothing she could do. So, she invited them to dinner, which was grandly called a gift for their moving house.
Leaving the community, Aaron warned Jennifer, "If you dare to take us to the shop of the spicy hotchpotch, I will call Edward with Jane's mobile now."
Jennifer was seen through by him. She responded with a "uh". Then, she looked at Jane sideways. Jane said without changing her expression, "Don't look at me. I don't mind. But my mouth tells me that if it won't eat something expensive today, maybe it will speak some nonsense when I meet Edward."
Jennifer was so angry that her mouth was slanting. It seemed that there would be a big expense today. She took the two to a well-known restaurant in S City with her heart aching inside. When ordering, Jane and Aaron were very restrained, not for anything else, but because they were afraid that Jennifer would cry. After all, her stinginess had nothing to do with family conditions, but was integrated into her bones and blood.
According to the conservative estimate, the business assets of Jennifer's father were more than one billion. But when Jennifer brought Jane and Aaron home, they saw Fred Baker himself mopping the floor.
In Jennifer's words, "I have become a rich second generation just for several years. My dad suffered too much when he was young. He made a fortune halfway simply because he insisted on hard work and thrifty. He always educates me to be restraint and save any single cent. Comparison and inflation are the great taboos. Indeed, we have a large amount of money., but maybe we'll return to the poor days after three investment failures."
Because they were afraid of being poor, they didn't spend money indiscriminately. Even if they made more money, this kind of thinking was nailed in their mind. Only Jane and Aaron could take Jennifer to such an expensive place. For others, she would like to sacrifice her life for money.
Seeing that the two had ordered three dishes, Jennifer took the menu, turned it over, and said, "You two deliberately make me shabby. Do you want to bring your own dishes and let them process them?"
She ordered three more. Aaron smiled and said, "Gosh! It's a big meal."

Jennifer smiled, "The first project of my company has been negotiated. I'll invite you for it. It's an early celebration."
Jane had an expected expression, "What did I say? She will never do business at a loss."
The waiter took the menu and asked, "Do you need any more drinks?"
Jennifer ordered a bunch of freshly squeezed juice. After the waiter left, Aaron said, "On such a good day, don't you want to drink to celebrate?"
Jennifer said: "You didn't see how expensive the wine here is. The red wine is all tens of thousands, and the white wine is all Maotai. Beer is more than 80 per bottle. It's crazy to drink here."
She got up and poured a large glass of water for Aaron. She said "Then, drink some water first if you are thirsty."
The more Aaron avoided her, the more Jennifer forced him to drink. Jane propped her chin to watch them.
After a while, the waiter knocked on the door and came in, holding an unsealed bottle of red wine in his hand wearing white glove. He said with a smile, "Excuse me, I'll wake up the wine for you first."
Aaron was surprised again, looked at Jennifer, and said, "Well, such a pleasant surprise!"
Jennifer saw the logo on the red wine bottle and quickly converted it into dollar in her mind. She was so panicked that she almost stood up from her chair. She said without blinking, "I didn't order red wine."
The waiter said, "This bottle was given by a customer from 101. The bill here has already been paid. He wished Miss Cooper a happy meal."
Jennifer and Aaron looked at the confused Jane at the same time. Jane asked slowly, "What's the name of the guest?"
The waiter replied, "The customer didn't leave a name."
Poured the wine into the decanting jug, the waiter turned back and left. As the door closed, Jennifer blinked and said, "Sixty eight thousand."
She was talking about the unit price of the bottle.
Looking at Jane, Jennifer asked, "Who is he? Is that Edward?"
The people Jane knew in S City could be counted on one hand. Apart from the two wealthy people here in front of her, Edward was the only one left.
The first person Jane thought of was also Edward, but she felt something weird that she couldn't figure out.
She stood up and said, "I'll go and have a look."
At the door of 101, Jane raised her hand and knocked on the door. A male voice came from inside, "Come in."
She opened the door and walked in. There was a round table in front of her. The table was full of people, both men and women. She swept around quickly and didn't see Edward but several familiar faces and an unforgotten one.
Some looked familiar because she had just met them not long ago -- the group of people she met in the restaurant the night she went out to dinner with Edward and Justin.
As for the unforgettable one, that was exactly Ken.
He sat in the main seat, staring at Jane with great interest, while the other men on the table laughed blatantly.
Jane knew that the jumping of her right eyelid was definitely not a good thing.
Without showing her nervousness, she said, "I'm sorry, I went the wrong way."
She turned back and was about to leave. But as soon as she turned back, a man suddenly appeared behind the door, closed the door quickly, and looked at her with a evil grin.
The door was blocked. Jane turned to look at Ken. He said with a smile, "We meet each other again because you went the wrong way. It must be fate."
Jane didn't change her expression, "I heard from the waiter that the customer here paid for 109. Is it a mistake?"
Ken still smiled. Instead of answering, he asked, "What do you think... Jane Cooper?"
Jane knew that this was a conspiracy, but she had already got in. Now it was not the time to regret, but to think about how to get out of this room.
While she was silent, someone said, "Since you have come, sit down please."
The table was full. The only vacant seat was beside Ken, who smiled and looked at Jane with a playful look.
