Chapter 68 You Look so Beautiful Tonight
The one who loved Natalie more was Luke of tomorrow.
Every day Luke woke up and saw Natalie's pure face, he felt he couldn't love her more, but actually, Luke loved Natalie more as time went by.
His love was enduring and growing day by day.
Natalie sat on the passenger seat and looked at Luke.
Luke now focused on driving and sometimes he would take a glance at the rearview mirror. Natalie could still feel the kiss Luke left on her lips this morning, but suddenly, her eyes filled with tears.
A great love could touch one's heart at every single unintentional moment. Natalie was so afraid that she wouldn't be lucky enough to meet Luke again in her next life.
Without Luke, she was incomplete.
Luke was so good that Natalie suddenly felt nothing mattered in this world, let alone that she had met her identical father in the hospital.
Feeling Natalie's direct gaze, Luke looked at her from the corner of his eye and said, "Stop looking at me like that. It seems like you have a thing for me!"
Natalie was amused.
She tilted her head and said straightforwardly, "So what? I'm your fan and you're my idol!"
Her adoring tone made Luke feel so happy. Luke spoke in a slow Athana accent, "Oh? It turns out that you love playing role-play!"
Knowing that Luke was making a dirty joke, Natalie didn't reply.
"Why did you call the driver? How is your hand now?" Natalie was going to say something else, but when she noticed Luke's right hand wrapped in gauze, she couldn't help but ask with concern.
Actually, Natalie had asked about Luke's right hand several times today. Her worried look even made Luke feel that he was a vulnerable person.
Luke sighed a breath and joked, "My hand is okay, but you won't believe it until the wound heals."
"Because I know that you won't tell the truth even if your hand still hurts."
Luke just smiled. "I'm no longer a kid who will tell everyone what I'm suffering."
"But I don't want you to hide anything from me!" Natalie looked at him and said, "I want you to let me know when you're uncomfortable."
Luke silenced for a moment and smiled tenderly. "Got it!"
...
The next day, Natalie went to work in the hospital as usual.
The accident that happened in the theater caused Jepson thrypsis in his patellas. Therefore, Jepson had to get surgery as soon as possible.
The surgery was scheduled for the morning. Natalie was the assistant of Dr. Samuel. Patellar resection was not a difficult surgery and Natalie would do all the simple suturing steps.
Before she went into the operating room, Natalie was mentally prepared.
She told herself that Jepson was just a stranger, who had nothing to do with her and she was just doing her job.
Natalie did this surgery without distractions, and the surgery went very smoothly.
There was no doubt that the operation went well. After the surgery, Natalie was also praised that she did a good job.
Jepson lived in an independent ward.
In the afternoon, since he was a public figure, only Natalie followed Dr. Samuel over to check him.
There were two people accompanying Jepson in the ward. One was a female supervisor of the theater who sent Jepson to the hospital that day while another was supposed to be Jepson's assistant.
When Dr. Samuel asked Jepson if there was any discomfort and explained a few words about the operation, Jepson just lay on the bed with his eyes closed and answered with a perfunctory attitude. In the end, he even became impatient.
Natalie was surprised a bit at that time.
On the screen, Jepson was always elegant, gentle, and easy-going, which was totally different from the way Jepson looked now.
"Jepson!" The assistant noticed Jepson's impatient attitude and reminded him to mind his manner.
The female supervisor was older than the assistant, so she was more sophisticated. "Sorry, Jepson was a bit upset since the performance wasn't finished successfully. We will certainly take note of what you have said!"
"That's okay!" Dr. Samuel didn't take it seriously. "He needs intensive care for several days. Just let me or Dr. Moore know if there is any discomfort."
As Dr. Samuel just finished his words, Jepson frowned and slowly opened his eyes.
"I never thought that you're so young, Dr. Moore!" a female supervisor said something to lighten the atmosphere.
Seeing that Jepson seemed to look in her direction, Natalie gasped and lowered her head at once while replying to The female supervisor.
After Natalie left the ward, the assistant rested his chin in his hands, lost in thought.
"What are you thinking of?" The female supervisor asked.
"Dr. Moore looks ... a bit familiar!" The assistant said, looking thoughtful. He felt that he had probably met Natalie in the old days.
"Well, it's not a good excuse to impress a beautiful girl!" The female supervisor joked.
"I'm sure that I have met her before..." The assistant felt wronged. Suddenly, his eyes brightened up. "Oh! I know! She is the girl who had an affair with that man!"
"You mean ... Luke?" The female supervisor even lowered her voice when she mentioned Luke's name.
"Yep! Do you know him? The reporters have photographed them many times!"
"Of course, I know Luke! But can you be sure that Dr. Moore is that girl?"
"There should be no mistake!" The assistant said while pointing at his nose, "There is a nevus on Dr. Moore, which is exactly the same as the girl in the pictures."
Jepson was silent all the time. When he heard what The assistant said, he raised his eyebrows and suddenly asked, "What's her name?"
The assistant was surprised by Jepson's sudden question. He answered while thinking, "I've seen her employee's card. Her name is ... Natalie Moore."
Natalie Moore...
Jepson's eyes widened. There was something indefinable in his eyes.
...
Everything went as usual in the next few days.
There was a paramedic who specially took care of Jepson, and Natalie was not the surgeon, so she didn't have to check Jepson regularly. She worked in the outpatient clinic as usual or assisted Dr. Samuel in various surgeries.
One night, Luke took her to a quadrangle courtyard.
It was a nice courtyard, but it was too big. After they entered the gate, there was still a long way to the yard.
Natalie took Luke's arm and suddenly sighed while walking.
"What's going on?" Luke put his hand around Natalie's waist.
Natalie leaned herself against Luke and said in a tired voice,
"There were three surgeries today. I'm too tired to walk now."
There were floor lamps on both sides, and the moonlight fell on the deep long road. Every day when they came back home together, it was the most pleasant moment for Natalie to walk on this road with Luke after a busy day.
"You're so weak!" Luke said as he squatted down. The next second, he carried Natalie on his back.
Natalie held Luke's neck and happily jumped on his back. "Luke, you're so nice!"
She said sweetly.
Luke humphed and carefully carried her. "Get up earlier tomorrow, and let's take exercise tomorrow morning."
"No!" Natalie immediately refused Luke's suggestion.
"Don't you like the sports?"
He said. Natalie knew that Luke was going to make fun of her, so she said first, "Don't you always take exercise with me every night?"
Luke was surprised. He couldn't help but wonder that since when his girl can say such flirting words.
"Natalie!" Luke called her name.
Natalie paused for a second. Then, she said, "What's up?"
Luke said, still in a gentle voice, "Be careful. You're turning me on!"
Natalie was speechless. Knowing what Luke meant, she didn't continue to say.
After they came into the living room, Luke put Natalie down.
There was a big package on the table. Natalie looked at that and asked curiously, "What's that?"
"You can have a look by yourself." Luke took off his coat and threw it on the sofa. Then, he unbuttoned his shirt.
Natalie sat on the carpet and started to open the package with a scissor. Soon, she saw the clothes they wore that day when they took the photo together.
"Why are they here?" Natalie was surprised. She raised her head and looked at Luke, who was drinking the water.
Luke put down the glass of water and walked back to the living room. He just took a sip of water to moisten his dry throat. "Robert thought you like the clothes, so he sent the clothes to you."
Natalie was so happy. She raised her head and said, "Then, thank him for me!"
"They are just two sets of clothes." Luke raised his eyebrows and didn't think that he needed to thank Robert. Then, he sat down by the coffee table, "If you really like the clothes, I'll buy a few more sets for you."
Girls loved to be favored and Luke knew that.
Natalie still sat on her knees on the carpet and solemnly folded the clothes. "This is the clothes that we wore the first time we took a photo together! It's different and worth to be kept well."
She was very focused, looking especially like a young girl in the 80s or 90s, who treasured her wedding dress and jewelry.
Luke suddenly got up and reached out to touch her ear. "Just like my school uniform you kept?"
Natalie felt embarrassed at once.
She did not want to admit the fact that she had been thinking of Luke since she was a little kid, but her red face betrayed her.
Natalie kept folding the clothes and said softly, "Well, you reminded me! I need to go back to Alcomara and bring that back."
It was dark outside at night.
Luke looked at Natalie's serious look and asked in a low voice, "Why didn't you bring it with you when you came over?"
"I did not know that the school uniform was yours," Natalie answered honestly while she slowly smoothed the hem of the estain dress and was about to put it into the closet. "I'm afraid that you will be unhappy if I keep someone else's clothes."
Luke bent forward and moved closer to Natalie. He gently held Natalie's hand and said, "Well, you have kept the clothes for years.
Is it too late for you to be afraid that I will be unhappy?"
Natalie suddenly felt guilty and didn't know what to say.
She tried to hold her hand back but Luke grabbed her hand so tightly.
"Luke!" Natalie raised her head and looked at him. "Don't be so jealous! It's your school uniform!"
She jutted her chin out stubbornly. Her long hair was loosely held behind her head. Her cheeks were bathed in the soft light of the crystal chandelier and her pretty round face glowed, looking so alluring.
Natalie had a pair of innocent watery eyes, which made her look as pure as a young girl. Compared to the first time Luke had met her, the only difference was that Natalie preferred to wear mature clothes now.
Luke stared at Natalie closely.
Suddenly, he bent lower and bit Natalie's ear gently. "I'm indeed very jealous."
Natalie tried to move away, but she failed to stand up. Instead, she fell on the carpet.
Luke didn't give her a chance to run away and immediately seize her. He carried her up and put her on the table.
"Luke!"
"What?" Luke kissed Natalie's lips.
Natalie wanted to tell him that she had pressed on the clothes. She tried to push Luke away but she failed. Luke's kiss left her no chance to say anything.
Natalie thought that Luke would just have sex with her in the living room, but obviously, she underestimate Luke.
Luke saw the Estain dress on the table and asked Natalie to wear it again.
Natalie blushed and said that the dress might get smudged.
However, Luke didn't think so. In the end, Natalie still wore the dress.
In a red estain dress, Natalie looked like a mixture of innocent and sexy. When she looked at Luke with her watery eyes, Luke kissed her ear and said in a low voice, "Baby, you look so beautiful tonight."
