Chapter 3
If James's cheating shocked Yolanda for a while, then Victor's words directly made her world collapse.
She asked Victor, "Who are you talking about going bankrupt?"
Victor was stupefied and repeated clearly, "Miss, the company was forced to go bankrupt this morning."
Yolanda froze in place and felt as if she had been beaten by someone, which nearly made her lose her consciousness.
How was that possible?
How could it be possible?
She tried her best to keep calm and asked, "How could it happen? What happened? Where is my father?"
"It got a reason. Mr. Watler began to expand his business in Europe last year, and there were a lot of problems during that time. Because of the wrong prediction of the market, the business of overseas investment is now collapsing, leading to the complete break of the capital chain of domestic companies and the banks are also pressing for money. As for Mr. Watler…"
Victor sighed gently, "The company is in a mess. Mr. Watler's private phone cannot be accessed for the time being. He asked me to tell you not to go back to Darlington for safety until things calm down."
Victor's words didn't really come across. For a while, Yolanda uttered in disbelief, "Is this an April Fool's Day joke?"
"Miss, I'm not joking," Victor continued to state the cruel truth. "Now Mr. Watler's real estate at home will be auctioned for repayment, and all bank accounts will be frozen, so your second card will not work."
Yolanda was speechless.
She couldn't use it already.
Being both passive and confused, Yolanda had to accept the sudden change. She couldn't figure out why she had been cheated on and gone bankrupt since she had just come out for a while?
Suddenly, something occurred to her. She said, "I can sell all my houses to help my father pay his debt."
After a long silence, Victor finally explained, "I'm sorry, Miss. I'm afraid that all the eight houses you own have been pawned by Mr. Watler before, except for the one you're living in the Warson Street."
Yolanda was startled.
Yolanda couldn't believe it.
Her father never treated her politely.
But Yolanda was not surprised at all.
When she was a little girl, her parents divorced. Since then, she had lived with her father. Elbert had always been bold and ambitious in doing business. A few years ago, his business had been so smooth that he had been dissatisfied with the status of the richest man in Darlington.
He wanted to be the richest man in the country and even in Asia. Yolanda had been urging him to focus on his field, but he just didn't listen. He wanted to dabble in all fields, such as real estate, health care, and education.
Now, he got his price.
The two remained silent for a long time. After taking a deep breath, Yolanda said calmly, "I see. Is there anything else?"
Victor kept silent for a few seconds and replied, "Nothing."
Nothing.
It was true for Yolanda. It was only one day.
She got nothing left.
It was winter in the capital in December. The wind was so icy that it quite pricked her face.
After hanging up the phone, Yolanda took a deep breath and mechanically walked into the lobby.
She wanted to go back to her room and take a warm bath. She wanted to hide. She wanted to sleep and then wake up to find that everything was just a dream.
But James, who was checking in at the front desk, brought her back to reality.
It was not until then that Yolanda realized that her family had gone bankrupt.
Her boyfriend even cheated on her.
Yolanda took the mask out of her bag and put it on. She went to the front desk and pretended to consult the room, listening with one ear to the conversation next to her.
The receptionist politely said to James, "Nice to meet you, sir. This is your room card, 2505. Wish you a happy stay."
Perhaps the worst thing had happened to her. At this time, she felt that it seemed that it was not a big deal to be cheated on.
As a result, even catching his mistress wasn't a big deal for her. She went back to her bedroom and changed into comfortable clothes before going to James's room.
Standing at the door of room 2505, Yolanda knew what she was going to face. But she was as calm as a cucumber.
She raised her hand and knocked on the door, saying that it was room service, and James opened the door without any precaution.
He opened the door a little and answered, "No, thanks."
By the way, he hung a "Please Don't Disturb" sign on the door.
However, Yolanda had already prepared herself. She kicked the door open and said, "Please don't disturb? Mr. Hilton, you don't want to be disturbed? What are you doing?"
James was taken aback and took two steps back. His face fell and he said, "Yolanda?"
With hesitation, Yolanda pushed him away and headed straight into the room. Sure enough, there was a woman lying on the big bed. The quilt was crumpled up in a mess, and she could see what had just happened here.
She asked sarcastically, "Well, are you done?"
The woman on the bed wrapped herself up with the quilt warily and asked, "Who are you?"
Yolanda smiled. "Yes, who am I?"
She turned around, crossed her arms and looked at James, "Why don't you introduce me to her?"
James pulled Yolanda out of the room and said, "We can talk outside. Don't embarrass everyone here."
"Embarrass?" She shook off James's hand and went on. "I thought you didn't feel embarrassed."
Hearing this, the woman on the bed understood what was going on. She wrapped herself in the quilt and stood in front of James to protect him. She said, "Why don't you come to me? I like him first."
Yolanda was shocked.
She thought the mistress in front of her was loyal.
"Okay." Enraged, Yolanda didn't even think about it. She slapped her and said, "I'll satisfy you."
James was stunned, then anxiously held the mistress's face and asked worriedly, "Are you all right?"
Then he turned to look at Yolanda and scolded, "Why did you hit her? You're always so arrogant and unreasonable. Do you think that everyone must listen to you because you are rich?"
Yolanda was feeling more pain in her heart than in her hand. She replied, "James, that's not what you said when you chased me."
James might think that since he had been caught cheating on her, he pretended to reply justly, He went on, "It's a bygone thing. People will change, and so will you, won't you?"
At first, Yolanda didn't understand what he meant, but then he gave a meaningful hint, "Don't say that I didn't remind you. You'd better go back to see your house that nearly has nothing left."
Yolanda was shocked.
She thought, "How did he know what happened to my family?"
It didn't take long for Yolanda to realize that she had known James through a senior manager of the company. That person was his relative.
At this point, it dawned on her completely.

There was no love that would ever disappear for no reason, but the cornerstone of their love in the past was gone, and She was no longer worthy of being his girlfriend.
James took one last look at Yolanda and was ready to close the door. He said, "You should leave now. We're done."
"Wait a minute." Although Yolanda who learned the truth, was a little confused, she stopped James and said, "I have something to tell you."
After all, she had liked him before, so there were a few feelings left for him. After a pause, James asked, "What?"
"Come here and I'll tell you."
James leaned towards Yolanda. Before she could say a word, his genital was bumped into by her knees.
He immediately curled his body like a shrimp, his face twisted. He glared at Yolanda, but he was too painful to say a word.
"Done?" Yolanda looked at the man coldly and said, "You don't deserve to mention this word to me, do you?
She said word by word, "Remember, you are the one who was dumped."

After getting things done with James, Yolanda didn't go back to her room. She went out and took a taxi, driving aimlessly in the city.
Seeing that she didn't look well, the driver asked  carefully, "Miss, are you all right?"
Yolanda smiled and shook her head.
She just wanted to get some fresh air and got herself to accept it as soon as possible.
Her family was in trouble. The company went bankrupt, and the jerk cheated on her. She couldn't even go back home…
She didn't know where else she could go.
Suddenly, she thought of something and opened WhatsApp.
Yolanda was afraid of trouble and usually used that second card for consumption, but now the card was frozen, which meant all her working capital was gone.
Originally, there were more than 15 thousand dollars on WhatsApp, but unfortunately, after she had booked the presidential suite, and now there were only more than 300 hundred dollars left.
Paypal, which was rarely used, was even more miserable, leaving only 7 cents.
No one would believe it. As a dignified lady, she only had more than 300 dollars left.
Glancing at the more than 15 dollars fare, Yolanda sadly asked the driver to stop the car in a hurry.
She poked her head out and asked, "Where is this?"
The driver answered, " Cliton Night Fair."
Yolanda thought, "Whatever. I don't know anyway."
Getting out of the car, Yolanda wanted to take a walk to kill time, but later, she found this night market interesting.
There was one dollar worth of beef noodles, four dollars worth of woolen sweaters, seven dollars worth of leather shoes and many other cheap things that Yolanda had never seen before.
And in the past, these things never entered her world.
Yolanda walked alone like this and finally sat down by a flower bed.
There were people coming and going, each with a different look on their faces. There were couples holding hands, families out for a walk after dinner, and students in school uniforms at the age of 16 or 17.
The sadness and happiness of human beings are not the same.
Yolanda never thought that everything she had would be gone so easily.
She tilted her head and looked at the dark sky.
Thinking of the contemptuous look on James's face when he hinted to her to go home to have a look, Yolanda couldn't help but clench her fists.
It turned out that the man who smiled at her in the sunshine, secretly lined up to buy her bubble tea, and patiently made three meals for her a day, was only for his interests from the beginning to the end.
It was a total lie rather than cheating.
But now, except for hitting him without bringing any pain to him, Yolanda couldn't do anything.
After all, it was hard to protect herself.
At this time, a man who came out of nowhere suddenly asked, "Miss, are you in trouble? Do you want to have a fortunetelling?"
Turning her head sideways, Yolanda found that the old man looked energetic with a white beard, a crutch in his left hand and two walnuts in his right hand.
Yolanda thought the night market had a wide range of business, even including fortune-telling...
She shook her head self-deprecatingly: "No, thanks. I have no money."
"How is that possible?" The old man smoothed his beard and said. "I think you have a noble face and good physical quality. Your lips are red and you have a clear voice. It is obviously the fate of great wealth!"
After a while, Yolanda nodded reluctantly, "I was rich before tonight, but now I'm broke."
A trace of embarrassment flashed on the old man's face, but he immediately said, "But you do have a noble and auspicious face, which represents wealth. In my opinion…"
Yolanda looked at him, curious about what he was about to say.
"Bankruptcy is the only thing you have to go through to succeed. As long as you get through this, you will definitely make a fortune in the future."
Hearing this, Yolanda fell into silence.
She felt a sense of light suddenly appear in the darkness.
She sat straight and spread out her hands. "Tell me more."
The old man immediately took out a QR code from his pocket and said, "Three dollars for rough fortune-telling and seven dollars for detailed fortune-telling."
After hesitating for a second, she chose the latter one which was a big price for her.
In the next ten minutes, the old man incessantly analyzed Yolanda's so-called fortune, including heavenly stems and earthly branches, the great fortune… All sorts of jargon came out of his mouth and made Yolanda stare in amazement.
"Trust me," the old man concluded, patting his chest. "As long as tonight is over, your fortune will come. You can't stop it."
Yolanda stood at the crosswalk waiting for the green light, looking at a good luck charm she had just spent another three dollars on.
The old man's words were still ringing in his ears.
"Only if you have this luck charm, can you own the whole world."
No one would expect Yolanda had believed this old man's nonsense.
Yolanda, who had gotten away with that man's brainwashing, gradually came back to her senses and laughed at herself.
It was also because she was in a bad mood tonight and desperately needed an outlet to rely on that she got carried away and listened to him blow for so long.
He even wasted a few dollars.
She thought, " As long as tonight is over, my fortune will come? It's obvious all the difficulties will start tonight.
I don't buy it."
When the light turned green, Yolanda walked forward with her head down, and was about to find a trash can to throw that charm away. Suddenly, an ear-splitting sound of brakes suddenly came from far away and quickly reached her side.
The world fell silent in an instant, and Yolanda felt as if she had turned into a ball of cotton, floating into the air and falling down.
The last memories in her mind were the fading voice in her ears, the blinding headlights, her own body being knocked out, and in the haze…
A man who came to her side.
