Chapter 43 You Are The Best Brother
Yolanda was clear that the relationship between her and Aaron had rapidly changed. They all knew it without speaking frankly.
He just said he didn't want a long-distance relationship, wasn't that clear?
He couldn't mean that he wanted to improve their brother and sister relationship.
Because of what he said, Yolanda was willing to agree with this protocol. She started looking for an intermediary to find a suitable office location. She also asked Victor to help arrange the new employees.
Yolanda initiatively asked Victor, "If you don't want to go, I won't force you."
Victor held on to his glasses and smiled, "If the company needs me, I will surely go with you."
Yolanda felt a little stressed that Victor was being so sincere and loyal.
Actually, she had implied to Victor that there was no chance for them to be a couple. For instance, she asked him to sell all her luxury bags when she was back to Darlington last time, and she also paid him the same salary as Elbert gave him before.
Yolanda wasn't sure whether Victor knew her intention.
"Victor, I'm lucky to have your help, but..." Yolanda finally decided to tell him what she thought. She added, "Don't take it serious about what my father told you."
She basically pointed out it was impossible for them to be together.
Hearing this, Victor smiled and said, "I've known exactly what I should and shouldn't do since your brother paid me an annual salary of $600,000 three years ago."
"Thank you!" Yolanda was relieved to hear that.
It had settled that they would relocate the company. The next thing was to tell Elbert and Marc about this.
Though Elbert knew nothing about the rules of the entertainment industry, the business routines were the same. He knew that it was the right choice for his daughter to seek more development in a bigger city after winning such a big project.
He said, "Yolanda, don't worry. I've asked your Uncle Finch to call Mr. Jensen, whose company's headquarter is in Capital. You can call him when you have any trouble."
Elbert then took out Aaron's business card and gave it to Yolanda.
Yolanda was speechless.
Marc didn't say anything afterward.
Elbert didn't know that Aaron had invested money in this project. It was a lucrative and popular project, and many financial groups scrambled to invest in it.
Elbert also had no idea about the complex relationship between Aaron and Yolanda.
It was a long story, so Yolanda decided not to tell her father yet. She just received the card and said, "OK."
Maybe someday when she and Aaron had finally become a couple, she would have the courage to tell Elbert about the stupid things she did in that three months.
At this moment, Marc suddenly said, "Dad, I will go to Capital with Yolanda."
Yolanda was stunned.
Marc then explained, "I'll be worried about her being alone in another city."
That night, Yolanda realized that Marc had already planned everything faster than she had expected.
He was even faster than Aaron.
"I've picked an office for you. All you need to do is to move in. I'll work on the same floor with you."
Yolanda was dumbfounded.
That meant Marc had planned to move to Capital the first day Aaron left.
Yolanda felt that there was something wrong with her brother.
She asked, "You never thought much of the relationship between me and Aason, did you? Why would you be so active this time?"
Marc looked at his phone and texted someone. After sending the message, he said to Yolanda,
"The prey will run, so you have to keep a careful eye on it."
Yolanda pondered over his words but still had no idea.
What prey? Did he mean Aaron?
"Are you asking me to chase after Aason closely?"
Marc didn't answer her question. He picked up the teacup and blew a few sips. Then he said, "I have booked the flight for tomorrow, go home and pack your bags."
Yolanda was speechless.
She thought, "Well... Can you be quicker? Why don't you just ask me to leave now?"
Marc was so fast that he had everything planned for Yolanda. All she needed to do was to wait for tomorrow's flight to Capital.
Although it was out of her surprise, she was excited to see Ms. Twelve and Uncle Happer soon.
Of course, the most exciting thing was to see the person she missed the most.
Yolanda didn't tell Aaron that she could come to Capital the next day, which would be less surprising for him.
She wanted to surprise him.
The flight was at 1:00 pm the next day. Yolanda went out to buy some special products of Darlington in the morning. It was a gift for Rose's grandma.
While sitting in the waiting room of the airport, Yolanda remembered the time half a year ago when she was having the same feeling.
At that time, she was also sitting in the waiting room, departing from Darlington to get that pair of cufflinks in Capital, which was a surprise for James.
Unexpectedly, the surprise turned out to be a nightmare.
Yolanda shook her head, trying to shake out the bad memories brought by James. She took out her phone and sent Aaron a message.
[What are you doing, brother?]
But he didn't reply after a long time.
Why? He should be at home for the weekend.
Did he work today?
Yolanda didn't send him any more messages. Just then, the airport announcer began to inform passengers to board, so she turned off her phone. She would wait to find it out until she got to Capital.
Three hours later, the plane landed safely.
Not only did Marc find the office, but he also arranged the living place.
He rented a large flat-floor apartment, where the siblings would have their own room. After putting down their luggage, Yolanda said to Marc,
"I'll visit Jensen Family later."
Marc nodded and said, "I'll go with you."
Yolanda blinked and asked, "Really?"
Marc explained, "I've heard that the older generations have come back, so I should take you to visit."
That seemed to make sense.
Yolanda agreed and brought the prepared gifts. They went straight to Jensen's villa.
On the way there, Yolanda finally received a message from Aaron: [I've been busy, what's the matter?]
She thought, "Heck! I've already come to Capital from Darlington, and now you remember me."
Although Yolanda was a little upset, she didn't take it seriously. She knew Aaron would be absorbed in his work. Besides, they could meet soon.
She then put her phone back in her bag. A few minutes later, Aaron called.
He asked through the phone, "Why don't you reply to me?"
Yolanda pursed her lips and looked outside the window. It was getting closer to Jensen's house. She tried hard to remain calm and said, "You just said you've been busy, so I won't disturb you."
Aaron was speechless.
She then heard someone asked on the other side of the phone, "Mr. Jensen, how about these?"
Aaron moved the phone and discussed with them for a while. Then he went to a quiet place and asked Yolanda, "Why aren't you working today? How's it going with the project?"
Same questions again!
Yolanda snorted, "I don't work this weekend. It's a good day today, so I'm on my way to have afternoon tea. I also planned to go to Y3 Bar with my friends tonight, where I might meet some handsome guys."
Aaron remained silent for a while and asked, "Handsome guys?"
The subtle sound expressed a sense of threat.
Yolanda was about to laugh when she heard it, but she still said fearlessly, "Don't worry. They won't compare with you in my heart. You are still my best brother."
Aaron didn't mind her joke and asked, "When will you come?"
Finally, he said something normal.
Yolanda held the phone with a tuft of hair in her hand. She grinned and still tried to sound calm, "The contract says the deadline is April 20th, OK? Why so rush?"
She deliberately said that to annoy him. Aaron chuckled lightly and added, "OK, you'd better remember that. If you don't come before the 20th, I will go to Darlington in person."
He stressed the words "in person" as if he would force Yolanda to come if she didn't come.
"Yeah, yeah." Yolanda then asked, "I just heard someone asked you about something. What are you doing?"
Aaron said, "I'll tell you when you come."
Well, nicely played.
It seemed that it had something to do with Yolanda.
She smiled and said, "All right."
After all, she would arrive at his house in two hours.
There was no need to be hurry.
After hanging up, Yolanda saw that Marc was looking at her complicatedly.
"What's up?"
"Nothing." Marc never saw his sister speaking to a man like that before. He slowly rubbed the goosebumps on his arms and said, " Can he stand you talking like this?"
Yolanda was speechless.
Whoever asked that must be someone who never had any loving relationships.
Yolanda sat upright, flipped her hair, and said seriously, "Brother, you should have a girlfriend if possible. You don't know anything about romance.
Marc glanced at this innocent sister. He couldn't help but laugh and tried his best to be polite.
The last time Yolanda came to Jensen's family was nearly two months ago. Now as she came back, she had mixed feelings.
But anyway, the worst time had passed.
At least she could confidently walk into the house this time.
It was six o'clock. The lights in the house were bright, and it was normally dinner time, which was familiar to Yolanda.
She pressed the doorbell.
Ms. Twelve, who was wearing an apron, came out and saw the figure in front of the door. She was stunned and then asked, "Yura?"
After Yolanda said yes, Ms. Twelve said with joy, "Great, it's really you. Yura has come back."
Mary, the grandma of the Jensen's family, was watching TV when she heard the sound and asked, "Who is there?"
Ms. Twelve invited Yolanda to come in and said, "Ms. Jensen, this is the girl I've told you before. She used to stay here for three months, and the young master takes care of her as his sister."
Yolanda handed the gift and said, "Hello, grandma. I'm Yolanda. I brought you something and hope you like it."
Mary watched the girl carefully, who was both decent and beautiful. She looked intelligent as she blinked.
Mary smiled and patted the seat beside her, "So you are Yura. Come and sit with me."
Marc, who was behind Yolanda, also introduced himself, "I'm Yolanda's brother. Thank you so much for taking care of my sister for three months."
Although it was the first time they met, Mary was very chatty and talked to them happily.
"Please stay here for dinner. Aaron was about to come back." Mary said that and turned to ask, "Twelve, go upstairs and tell Rose to come."
Ms. Twelve said yes. Just as she wanted to go upstairs, Rose walked down and asked, "Why do you want me to come? Is dinner ready?"
The next moment Rose was stunned. She might be surprised to see Marc and Yolanda sitting on the sofa. "Yura? How do you..." Her expression had changed.
Yolanda stood up and smiled, "Hello, sister."
Marc didn't stand up and looked at her calmly.
No one could tell the subtle emotions other than the people who involved.
Seeing that Rose stood still, Mary urged her, "What are you doing there? Come here. It's time for dinner."
Rose then slowly walked down, and when she reached the main hall, she suddenly turned around and said, "I won't eat at home. I've had an appointment."
After that, she quickly walked to the entrance, changed her shoes, and went out.
Mary tried to stop her but failed. She turned around and apologized, "That's my granddaughter. She likes to be free. Please forgive her rudeness."
Marc smiled and said, "It's OK."
After a minute or so, Marc glanced at his watch and got up to say goodbye, "I won't stay for dinner. There are some things to deal with in the office. I'll come and visit next time."
Yolanda believed him and asked, "Do you need my help?"
Marc patted her on the shoulder and said, "No. You can stay."
...
After Marc and Rose both left, Mary seemed to remember something and gently asked Yolanda, "Does my grandson know about your coming?"
Yolanda shook her head embarrassedly, "I didn't tell him."
"I know." Ms. Twelve suddenly interjected, "You want to surprise the young master."
Ms. Twelve also turned to the old lady and told her seriously, "They are very close - Closer than their own siblings."
"Really?" Mary smiled happily, "Aaron is never patient with his own sister."
Yolanda smiled awkwardly.
Mary said to Ms. Twelve, "You give him a call and ask when he will be back."
Ms. Twelve then called Aaron.
"Where are you, young master? When are you coming back? You don't know? Well, that's not good. There is a guest at home. You should come back and see... Don't care who it is. Your grandma asked you to come back."
Well done.
It was the first time that Yolanda saw a housekeeper being so dramatic.
"What did he say?" Mary asked.
Although Ms. Twelve made it so dramatic, Aaron didn't care about it.
"The young master said he's busy with something, and he might be back at eight o'clock."
"What?" Mary was stunned, "You should have told him it's Yura."
"No, no, it's fine." Yolanda refused, "Since brother is busy, let's not disturb him. I'll stay and watch TV with you."
What Yolanda wanted was to see his expression when he saw her at home. If they told him in advance, there would be no surprise.
Mary nodded with satisfaction, "No wonder Twelve always told me that you are a great girl. Now as I see, you are really more lovable than Rose."
Yolanda glanced at Ms. Twelve from afar. "It must be the perfume I gave her last time." Yolanda thought. Otherwise, how could such a cold Ms. Twelve praise her in front of Mary?
Dinner was served at 6:45 o'clock. Yolanda accompanied Mary to dinner like the little granddaughter in Jensen's family. Although Mary was old, she was knowledgeable and elegant. Fortunately, Yolanda was also intelligent. Mary liked the girl better after dinner.
The family had hired some new maids. When they were cleaning up after the meal, Ms. Twelve took Yolanda aside and said to her...
"I think it's not that surprising for you to just sit here. It's so cliche."
Yolanda asked, "Where else can I go and wait for him?"
Ms. Twelve pursed her lips and pointed at the bedroom on the second floor, "Young master's bedroom, of course."
Yolanda was speechless.
She did have some point. Aaron used to go to the second floor directly from the basement. She wouldn't see him directly if she stayed in the living room.
But running to other people's bedrooms...
It didn't sound good.
Ms. Twelve knew she was hesitant about it, so she encouraged her, "Don't be embarrassed. It's not that you never came in there."
Great.
Yolanda felt Ms. Twelve was more friendly to her this time.
She asked Ms. Twelve secretly, "Did you use the perfume?"
Ms. Twelve smiled and said, "I used it last time when I went back to my hometown for my nephew's wedding. Oh my god..."
Ms. Twelve blushed, "There's even a fifty-year-old man who asked me for my contact information. I'm so embarrassed."
Yolanda was speechless. Hahaha...
"Then you should use it more often. The smell of rose does have the effect of attracting men." Yolanda said.
Ms. Twelve said embarrassedly, "It's too expensive. I'll save it. The old lady's 70th birthday is around the corner, and I'll use the perfume then."
"OK, hahaha."
After chatting with Ms. Twelve, Yolanda went to Aaron's bedroom.
There was nothing to be embarrassed about. Since they had slept in the same bed, there was no need to care about the little things.
The room was big and didn't have too much furniture. It was neat and tidy, which was Aaron's style.
Although the room was big, there was no place to hide.
If she hid in the closet, she might be hard to breathe.
As for the other spaces, it seemed that she could only hide behind the curtain.
Yolanda glanced at her watch. It was 7:30, and she would wait for half an hour at most.
All right. People had to sacrifice something when they wanted to surprise others.
She only needed to stand for half an hour. No big deal.
Yolanda then hid behind the curtain and waited for Aaron.
At the same time, she was picturing what would happen after he saw her...
"Surprise."
"Are you happy?"
"Can you feel my hot feelings for you?"
What a touching image.
Aaron should award her for being the best sister in the country.
Just after Yolanda hid in the curtain, Ms. Twelve sent a message from the corridor...
"Young master is back."
Aaron didn't say anything. He opened his room, and Ms. Twelve coughed, "Master, please pay attention. There will be a surprise in the room."
Aaron was on the phone, so he didn't hear clearly what the housekeeper had said. He seemed to hear her saying the word "surprise".
But he was a little tired, and after opening the door, he glanced at the room. Nothing in here.
Aaron didn't care about it. Although Ms. Twelve told him there was a surprise, he didn't see anything and had no interest to look around.
He was still on the phone.
"Yes. Be prepared soon."
"At least before 19th."
Yolanda was behind the curtain. She planned to surprise Aaron when he came back. But since he was on the phone, she had to stay behind the curtain and wait.
When there was no sound in the room, she wanted to go out and found...
My god, Aaron was taking off his clothes as if he was going to take a bath.
He had taken off his shirt, and now his thin and strong back was facing her.
He was looking for clothes in front of the closet. As he moved, the muscle lines at the scapula would rise and fall.
It was so impressive.
Yolanda swallowed her saliva. Her face blushed, and her heart beat fast. She didn't know what to do and had to hide back.
It was inappropriate to come out right now, but it would be more inappropriate to come out after he finished taking the shower.
He must think she was a peeping Tom.
Forget it. She could only sneak down quietly when he was taking the shower.
Yolanda made up her mind and stepped back carefully.
Then she saw Aaron picking up the phone. He seemed to call someone.
... How busy he was.
As she thought of that, her phone rang suddenly.
Great.
The bell suddenly rang in the quiet bedroom.
Yolanda was speechless.
He was calling her.
... But she forgot to silence her phone.
Yolanda's scalp was numb. She hurriedly took out her phone and changed it to mute. At the same time, she prayed in her heart, "You didn't hear it. You didn't hear it."
But that was impossible.
Through the blurred vision of the curtain, Yolanda saw Aaron turning back.
He stared at the place where she was hiding.
He put on the shirt and picked up a remote control on the bed. He casually pressed something.
The curtain opened automatically.
Yolanda was speechless.
She moved with the curtain in small steps until she finally reached the end. There was nothing left to hide her.
The two of them looked at each other for a few seconds.
Aaron had put on his shirt again with the neckline opened.
He looked at her calmly, waiting for her to speak.
Yolanda opened her mouth. Although she was so embarrassed, she tried to follow the plan...
"Surprise..."
The room was extremely quiet.
For a long time.
Aaron pulled his lips and smiled. Then he walked toward her and looked at her, "Why are you here? Does Y3 Bar have no handsome guys for you? And you have to hide in my room to see handsome brother?"
Yolanda was trying to explain her behavior, but now Aaron had made an excuse for her.
She then nodded and said, "Yes, those guys are far less handsome than you. You're the most handsome brother."
She also pretended to make a joke, "I never know you're so conservative."
He put on his clothes after seeing her.
After saying that, Yolanda found her joke had made the atmosphere more awkward. She looked up to see him and found he was staring at her gently.
Although he didn't say anything, the gaze was very hot.
It seemed that he was asking...
"Are you sure?"
"Shall I be more open?"
