Chapter 41 A Quick And Gentle Kiss
In the lively and restless music, Yolanda felt the temperature around her suddenly drop.
The coldness was very obvious. It was like small molecules that slowly floated in the air and formed ice.
She paused for a while, knowing that what she said was affected by emotions and was kind of flirty.
Clearly, she did make a mistake. Aaron went close to her and showed his intention. How could she use the sentence "go for her" to insult him?
Did she really think she was that attractive?
Yolanda pursed her lips, moved her butt, and initiatively sat next to Aaron. After a long time, she finally opened her mouth, "You asked me to come and also brought such a beautiful woman to sit next to you. I was not happy about it, so I said that to you."
Aaron sneered, "Don't you want to see handsome guys?"
"But the most handsome guy here is you, so I have to be close to you to see more clearly."
Yolanda said as she moved closer to him. She blinked and said, "I'll sit here."
Aaron was speechless.
The irritability he had went away as Yolanda did that.
In fact, Yolanda was right. It was just Aaron who didn't want to admit it.
He was fooled by her, but still couldn't let her go.
The music continued to another heat. Rose was having fun with DJs on the dance floor. Yolanda wanted to upload a small video. Just as she picked up her phone, a handsome rock guy with hip-hop braids walked in front of her.
"Hey, Yolanda? It's really you. Long time no see. Do you like to have a drink with me?"
The guy was one of the DJs in Y3 Bar. He was probably passing by and happened to see Yolanda.
Yolanda used to come to this bar since it was the most famous nightclub in Darlington. It also was the gathering place for wealthy people in the city.
It was not strange that the DJs here knew Yolanda.
Since the guy had put the cups in front of Yolanda without any snobbish attitude. Yolanda had to smile awkwardly and said, "OK."
She sat upright and had a cup with the Hip Hop Braid.
"See you. Come to play next time."
"OK."
Yolanda glanced at Aaron after drinking. The man was looking at her plainly with confused eyes. Yolanda couldn't see the meaning in his eyes.
But it seemed that he didn't show much response to what had happened.
In common words: He didn't get jealous.
Although Yolanda was a little lost, she thought it was normal. After all, the man was focusing on the bigger picture. It was nothing to have a drink with a guy in a nightclub.
Therefore, Yolanda didn't explain to him as he didn't ask.
A few minutes later, another guy came.
This time was a sunny little cool guy, tall and handsome, with earrings. He looked very trendy.
"Yolanda? Damn it, long time no see, baby. When did you come back? You've become more beautiful. Alen and other friends miss you so much. Do you want to come and have a drink?"
It was so embarrassing to meet the old playmate.
Although she had lost her vest in front of Aaron, Yolanda still tried to maintain her innocent character. Who could expect that she would expose her true self after coming to a nightclub?
Yolanda tugged her hair unnaturally and was about to stand up and have a drink alone to deal with this guy. But her arm was suddenly pulled down, and she sat back in her seat.
"She's not available." Aaron looked at the guy plainly.
Yolanda was speechless.
The guy seemed to understand something and said, "OK."
When he left, he exchanged glances with Yolanda to see her next time.
After he left, Aaron looked back to see Yolanda. His eyes were cold. He said with mockery, "Well, you're quite popular, baby.
The aggravated word "baby" sounded strange.
Yolanda opened her mouth and murmured, "It's just a close friend."
She then remembered something and looked at Rose who was dancing on the dance floor not far away. Yolanda sneered, "The same to you. Look how pretty she is with such a good shape."
After a while, she said sourly, "Is this a new star?"
Aaron was speechless.
He followed her sight and immediately understood something.
Who would know someone as beautiful and confident as Yolanda would be jealous of another person. Aaron couldn't help but to laugh.
He tapped on her forehead and said, "Your eyes are useless."
Yolanda moved a little and frowned. She asked, "What's wrong with me?"
Just then, Rose and Lenny went back.
"How crazy. The DJ was so fun. Don't you want to have some fun?"
Seeing that Aaron and Yolanda had changed their positions, Rose glanced at them and smiled, "What are you talking about? You're getting so close."
Aaron repeated Yolanda's words blankly, "She said that you are so pretty and have good shape, and she also asked me whether I'm trying to make you a star."
Yolanda was speechless.
She thought, "How could you say that out loud?"
"Ahhh..."
Yolanda was so embarrassed that she immediately picked up the wine glass and pretended to drink, but Rose burst into laughing and put her hand on Aaron's shoulder, asking, "Don't you think Mr. Jensen and I look alike?"
Yolanda was stunned.
"Look alike?"
She thought for two seconds and suddenly realized something.
"It's his sister... Aaron has a sister." Yolanda remembered.
Now as she thought about it, his sister had come back from Ustrana for several days.
God, what was she doing? How could she be jealous of his own sister?
Aaron then officially introduced them to each other.
"This is Rose Jensen."
"This is Yolanda Walter."
Yolanda was so embarrassed that she wanted to find somewhere to hide. Luckily, the nightclub was dark inside, no one would notice her red face.
She bravely said hello to his sister, "Hello, sister. Nice to meet you."
Rose murmured her name, then she asked, "Yolanda? Are you Yura?"
Yolanda was surprised, "Do you know me?"
Rose had heard about Yolanda from Ms. Twelve after she went back from abroad. Ms. Twelve didn't reveal any secret. She only told Rose that Aaron once took a little girl home who had lost her memory. After three months, the girl recovered her memory and went back home.
Now as Rose finally met the other "Miss Jensen", she was so happy and liked Yolanda a lot. Rose looked at Aaron and asked...
"What a coincidence. How about we take her as our little sister? Grandma wants to have grandchildren so much."
Yolanda didn't know what to say.
She was confused about whether being their little sister had anything to do with having grandchildren.
She couldn't figure out the connection.
Clearly, Aaron also didn't understand and asked, "Does that have anything to do with her?"
Rose said, "Since you don't want to find a girlfriend, and I don't want to get married, it's better that we have a little sister who might marry someone and have grandchildren."
Yolanda was speechless.
Aaron also didn't know what to say.
There were a few seconds of silence.
Aaron took a sip of his wine, then he turned to look at Rose and pointed at the dance floor with his chin. He said impatiently, "Please go dancing."
Rose murmured something. At this moment, a new round of strong music came, and she didn't bother to talk to Aaron, so she dragged Lenny to the dance floor again.
The booth became quiet again. Nobody talked anything probably because of the awkward grandchildren speech. Yolanda finally laughed dryly.
She said, "Why don't you go to play with your sister? Don't you be boring sitting here all the time?"
Aaron looked at her and said plainly...
"Not boring at all."
"I've been looking at you."
Yolanda was stunned for a while and asked, "Looking at me?"
She thought it might be her makeup, so she took out a small mirror from her bag. But nothing went wrong with her makeup after checking it several times.
She asked again, "Why are you looking at me?"
As their eyes met, there was a light hit on Yolanda's face. Aaron saw her eyes directly. Her eyeliners went up a little, looking like a little hook that caught his heart at the first sight.
He smiled helplessly and took a sip of wine. "I'm wondering why you're being so popular." It seemed that he was answering himself.
Yolanda didn't say anything.
She was a little overwhelmed. She didn't know whether he was praising or mocking her.
As they were talking, Rose had danced a few rounds. When it came to ten o'clock, she and Lenny returned to the booth. Her long hair was wet.
"Let's go. It's ten o'clock, and I've had an appointment at the hotel's spa."
Marc also called Yolanda at the moment.
"Ready to go now? I'll wait for you at the door."
Yolanda also stood up and said, "Well, I'll be there right away."
Aaron didn't plan to play too late as he would go back to Capital tomorrow.
But he never expected that Marc would come to pick up Yolanda.
At the entrance of the nightclub, Marc's car was parked on the side of the road. Coincidentally, the car happened to park beside Aaron's commercial car.
Seeing that Yolanda came out of the club, Marc got out of the car.
It was getting warmer. He just returned from his friend's tea house. He looked a little lazy wearing a pair of gold-rimmed glasses and a casually opened white shirt, which was not the same serious style as he used to be.
Marc saw Aaron first and initiatively stretched out his hand, "Long time no see, Mr. Jensen."
He still wanted to know more about Aaron, so he called him formally.
Aaron said plainly, "Long time no see."
Yolanda and Rose were walking behind him. The two women really hit it off. Yolanda pointed at Marc's car and said, "Sister, I'm gonna head off. My brother came to pick me up."
Rose was a little drunk tonight. She held Yolanda tightly and said, "Your brother? Introduce us, please. We should discuss the thing that you become my sister."
Yolanda was speechless.
Rose walked as she headed toward Aaron. Just as she looked up and tried to say something, the words stuck in her throat.
She seemed to sober up.
Yolanda thought Rose might be overwhelmed by her brother's handsome appearance. She stepped forward and said, "Sister, this is my brother, Marc Shaw. He is using my mother's surname."
Then she said to Marc, "This is Rose Jensen, the daughter of the Jensen family."
The eyes behind Marc's lens flickered imperceptibly and soon went back to normal.
He stretched out his hand very naturally and said, "Hello, Miss Jensen."
Rose cleared her throat and shook his hand, "Hi."
Aaron didn't notice the subtle abnormalities. What he cared about was that he couldn't send Yolanda back since Marc had come.
It seemed that her brother would always take Yolanda away from him. It happened once, and now it happened again.
Aaron hated to be controlled. He wanted to have Yolanda. The thought became stronger this time, so he held Yolanda and asked...
"Where is your contract?"
The night wind was slightly cool, and Yolanda was stunned for a while. She asked, "What contract?"
"I'm leaving tomorrow. If you don't give me your contract, how can we work together?"
Yolanda didn't know what to say.
She thought, "Why can't you say that earlier?"
However, she was still happy that Aaron agreed to work with her. "I'll get it ready and send it to your email tomorrow, OK?"
"No. I must see the contract today." Aaron looked at his watch and added seriously, "I'll give you two hours. You can come with me and write the contract there."
Yolanda was a little overwhelmed. She thought for a while and asked Marc, "Well, can I go with him and write the contract?"
She was surprised that her brother didn't refuse her request. Marc said, "Since Mr. Jensen asked you to write the contract, I can come with you."
He then looked at Rose and said meaningfully, "Anyway, Miss Jensen seems to have something to discuss with me just now?"
Rose was speechless.
Rose completely sobered up by now. In fact, she also remembered many old stories.
She didn't want to reveal her secrets in front of her younger brother and her newly-acquainted sister. She coughed and held Yolanda, "All right. Let's go then."
Somehow Yolanda felt the group of people suddenly looked so weird.
But the cooperation cannot be stopped. Since Aaron had agreed, she must seize this opportunity.
The two cars drove towards the hotel where Aaron was staying.
It was just a quarter past ten.
When they arrived at the hotel, Aaron took Yolanda directly to his room.
"My computer is on the table. Help yourself."
Yolanda was speechless.
To be honest, she hadn't formally written a contract before. She did see many contracts in Aaron's office, but she wasn't sure she could write one by herself.
But there was no choice now.
Yolanda turned on the computer and saw all kinds of documents and contracts on the screen.
She couldn't be distracted, so she quickly opened a new document and start to write the contract.
As she was writing, Aaron casually took off his jacket in front of her, answered the phone, and went outside to smoke. It seemed that Yolanda wasn't in the room at all.
Well done.
Yolanda never thought the first time she wrote such an important contract was in the boss's hotel.
She typed seriously as she occasionally glanced at the man standing on the balcony.
She didn't know who he was talking to. The smoke was dense in the night, and it vaguely outlined his jawline. He seemed to be cold and hard to be close to.
Suddenly, they looked at each other.
Just like being discovered by the head teacher as one was peeking at a cartoon book in class, Yolanda immediately retracted her gaze, sat upright, and started to write again.
After a while, Aaron finished talking and came in.
The carpet was very soft, so there was almost no sound when he walked in. But Yolanda's heart was beating fast as he came in.
When he walked behind Yolanda, he looked at the screen like a teacher checking an exam paper.
"Did you just write these in the past half an hour?"
Yolanda didn't know what to say.
Before she could explain, Aaron went away.
He poured a glass of water, sat on the sofa opposite Yolanda, and quietly looked at something.
The whole room was so quiet, and only the sound of typing could be heard.
After a while, Yolanda couldn't help but said, "Brother, I also want a glass of water."
She had a drink in the nightclub. Now as it went quiet, her throat somehow felt so dry.
Aaron glanced at her, stood up again, and poured her a glass of water.
He also glanced at the screen.
A few seconds later, he pressed his brow bone and said helplessly, "Is this your contract?"
Yolanda closed her mouth. She knew she might write very badly, but she still explained lightly, "Our company has legal affairs department. It's not my major to do this. I ..."
"Get up." Aaron interrupted her.
Yolanda was stunned for a moment and stood aside.
Aaron sat down and re-edited where she had written. He said, "As an investor, you don't have to do this by yourself, but you must learn how to do it."
Yolanda stood beside Aaron, watching him fluently type those professional terms and various equity fund allocations. Her lips raised.
Men who worked hard were the most attractive. Aaron, who was being so serious at work, made it seem so easy about writing a contract.
"Understood." Yolanda replied softly, sounding a little flirty and pouty that she didn't even notice.
Aaron paused and looked back at her.
The corners of her mouth were slightly curved. Her cheeks were a little red on both sides, which might because of the drink.
She seemed to be drunk.
No wonder she spoke in a coaxing voice.
Just as he turned to look at the screen, he found Yolanda was looking so tired for standing in the high heels.
Aaron's heart went soft again.
He sighed and suddenly stretched out a hand to pull Yolanda onto his lap.
Then he wrapped his arms around her and said lightly, "Pay attention. I won't help you next time."
Yolanda didn't know what to say.
All of a sudden, she sat on the man's lap and was hugged by him. Yolanda's heart beat quickly. All she could know was that the man was typing with his beautiful hands in front of her.
She could smell the tobacco left on him, as well as the alcohol tonight. All these smells mixed together and slowly went into the air around her.
She breathed the air in.
Yolanda felt her cheeks become redder.
She sat still. Aaron's voice constantly went into her eyes. He was explaining the details of the contract.
But she didn't seem to hear a word.
All she could hear was her own heartbeat, and perhaps his.
The evening breeze blew in gently. Yolanda suddenly felt this was a great moment.
The Moment in Love was the project they both liked.
Just like the name of this project, they were sitting under the warm orange light. Both of them had removed their disguises and sincerely relied on each other at the moment.
"Actually..." Yolanda said softly, "On Valentine's Day, you asked me if anything about me was true."
Aaron paused his fingertips and quickly went on typing.
"Other than James, my feeling for you is true all the time."
After Yolanda finished talking, the room became more silent. Even the sound of breathing could be heard.
She was a little nervous, and she didn't know why she said that. Maybe it was the night and the atmosphere that made her more sensible and willing to express her true self.
Quite a minute later, Aaron said calmly, "Really?"
"Yes." Yolanda turned around and sat on Aaron's lap. She looked into his eyes and said, "In the three months with you, Yolanda may be embarrassed, but Yura was happy. Because you fulfilled all her fantasies about a brother."
The wind seemed to stop. At this moment, some broken things seemed to recover quietly.
"Was Yura happy?" Aaron finally smiled after a long time. He mocked, "Don't you need to bear the burden?"
Yolanda was speechless. Why would he say that again?
She was a little depressed and said, "Can you not mention it? I was just angry at that time."
There was a second of silence.
Aaron sat straight and said, "OK. But you should give me a reason."
Yolanda pursed her lips and tried to open her mouth, but she suddenly remembered something and stared at Aaron.
It seemed that she was trying to do something big.
Aaron was a little uncomfortable. He frowned and asked, "What are you doing?"
Just then, Yolanda quickly and gently kissed him on his lips. Then she looked down and asked softly...
"Can you not mention that again?"
