Chapter 26
Aaron didn't expect that the person in the photo was Yolanda.
He had dealt with countless celebrities who were secretly filmed and caused the crisis, but the protagonist this time turned out to be Yolanda. the woman he cared for the most in his heart.
What a satirical moment.
In the photo, Yolanda was hugging intimately a man. She wore the green coat from yesterday. The sky in the photo showed that it was after six or seven o'clock in the evening.
Aaron finally knew the reason why Yolanda suddenly didn't want him to pick her up yesterday. He also understood where those WhatsApp notifications that kept ringing, making Yolanda awkward came from.
So that was the truth.
Aaron stared at the photo quietly. Although he wanted to call Yolanda up to ask for clearer clarification, he finally held his urge back.
He forced himself not to look at the email and the photos. He tried to make himself forget these things.
Since he had already been acting as an older brother, why should he interfere in the relationship of his 'sister'?
He thought that perhaps this was God's retribution to him for selfishly hiding his phone. He didn't want Yolanda to return back to her own world and find her ex-boyfriend.
So what?
She could still meet new men and have new boyfriends.
Aaron closed his eyes and repeatedly rubbed his brow bones to calm himself and accept the fact.
After a long silence, Aaron found something to distract himself from it. He called Blair over the phone. "Let the network technology department track the email account. I want to know who's behind."
As the largest entertainment company in the country, the Azel Group faced a variety of public relations crises every day. Therefore, Aaron secretly formed a group of technical hackers early on so that he could always strike the other party precisely for provocation and smearing cases.
This time, the email was obviously targeted. Aaron didn't want to have someone staring at Yolanda secretly in places he could not see.
He could not tolerate these tricks happening under his nose.
After settling these matters, Aaron calmed himself down and walked to the bedroom. With the door left unlatched, Yolanda was laying on her side on the bed and had already fallen asleep.
No matter how threatened she was or acted like a spoilt child during the day, at this time, Yolanda was quiet and gentle.
She was so gentle that Aaron could not bear to disturb her life and her choice when he looked at this face.
Therefore, the invisible hand that had grabbed his neck appeared again.
Moreover, its force was even much stronger than last time, hanging on to him maliciously.
Whether it was to allow his greed to continue or to stop was the question.
After all, even if she liked someone else, she would still call him brother and stay by his side.
Aaron looked at Yolanda silently, and once again faced the innermost feelings in his heart.
Yolanda actually didn't sleep deeply. Being half-awake, she vaguely sensed someone beside her. She opened her eyes and froze for a moment. "Aaron?"
The man's gaze was deep. Yet, he just looked at her twice. "It's okay. Go back to sleep." Then he went out.
When he came out, Aaron's heart didn't seem to be as painful as before. Perhaps it was because she called him, or perhaps it was because Yolanda slept in her bedroom without even closing the door.
Aaron knew that this was her utmost trust without principles to himself. He didn't want to mess it up.
This time, he finally chose to remain silent. He pretended that he didn't see anything and that he didn't know anything. And he was still Yolanda's brother.
After that, two days passed peacefully. Aaron didn't ask Yolanda half a word about the photos in the email. Yolanda also didn't mention anything.
Both of them hid their secrets and maintained calm while facing each other.
These days, James and Yolanda chatted happily and even Yolanda's nickname changed from 'Yura' to 'Yura Darling'.
Yolanda knew that it would not be long before the man would take further actions, such as asking for a date or a hangout.
Now that he had fallen into her trap, it seemed that there was not much point in staying here.
Yolanda could make him the trending topic again on her own, accepting everyone's scolding and disdain, but it was not so easy to make up her mind to leave.
This morning, the two of them were about to go out to work when Yolanda's cell phone suddenly rang. She took it out hastily and saw that it was Marc calling. She hurriedly declined his call and laughed dryly. "It's a strange phone number."
Aaron knew who it was. Though he wanted to cooperate with her to act and turn a blind eye, probably because he had held himself for several days, the emotions in his heart suddenly went out of control because of this blatant phone call.
He was not the person who was tolerant. In his dictionary, he had never tolerated anyone to the point of making him suffer.
Never.
"Why did you hang up?" He looked at Yolanda and said, "Call it back."
Yolanda held her phone nervously and her fingertips were even trembling slightly. "But, but, we're going to work. I'll call him back later."
"Just do it now." Aaron walked to her side slowly, leaned against the entrance, and stared at her. "I'm not in a hurry. "
"..." Yolanda knew that if she didn't return the call naturally, it would further arouse Aaron's suspicion.
Fortunately, he stood at a distance from her.
Yolanda pursed her lips, turned on her phone, and called back while standing in front of Aaron.
"Yolanda? "It was Marc.
"Mmm."
"Was it inconvenient to pick up my call just now?"
"Yeah."
"Have you thought about what I told you? It's been three days."
"Yeah. "
"So?"
"..." Yolanda looked up at Aaron who was not far away. He was also watching her.
With a sense of guilt that suddenly arose, Yolanda hurriedly hung up the phone. "Alright, got it."
Marc was confused.
"It's a sales call." Yolanda explained, "I signed up as a member in a mall before, and they told me to pick up the gift."
Aaron had no idea why he was torturing himself, watching Yolanda lying to him with his own eyes.
The living room went silent for a while. Then, he chuckled, "Let's go then."
No one expected that Ms. Twelve appeared out of nowhere. "What gift is it? If you don't have time, let me get it for you, I just have nothing to do today."
Yolanda halted. She didn't expect Ms. Twelve to come out so suddenly. She stammered, "Well, that's... Uhm..."
Aaron interrupted, "Since you're free, go to clean up my grandma and my sister's rooms. They'll be back next month."
Ms. Twelve was speechless.
Yolanda let out a sigh of relief, feeling thankful that Aaron saved her from the embarrassment.
All the small details were captured by Aaron. Her feeling of guilt, avoidance, thankfulness, and relaxation. Sitting in the car, Aaron could not help but laugh at himself when he thought of these things.
He didn't expect that he would be deceiving himself like this one day.
Because of Marc's phone call, Yolanda was worried for another day. She muted her phone, afraid that Aaron would sense something.
But even if she muted her phone, silencing the whole world, it didn't mean that the choices that bothered her would disappear.
Most importantly, the two masters of the Jensen family were coming back soon.
She wondered if God was hinting to her that it was time to leave.
When the real Miss of the Jensen family and grandma came back, being the fake sister, she has nothing to hide.
Yolanda sighed, then secretly sent a message to Marc while she was in the bathroom.
[Brother, I'll come to you around seven o'clock in the evening today.]
She should have a good discussion before making a decision on how and when to leave.
Fortunately, she had already found a reason in advance in the morning. When she left work, Yolanda naturally said to Aaron, "Brother, go back first. I'll go to the mall to collect the gift ad come back."
Aaron pursed his lips tightly and paused. He looked away from the computer and stared at her. "Do you want me to give you a ride?"
"No need," Yolanda hurriedly refused. "You've been busy all day, I'll just take a taxi by myself."
She didn't know how long it took before Aaron hummed lightly. "Alright."
It took a lot of effort for him to say this word calmly, Aaron knew it himself.
Since early morning, his mind was like turbulent waves, but he still endured it and kept himself calm for the whole day.
Not long after Yolanda left, Sandra came.
In fact, she had actually been standing in the aisle for a long time. Although the agent said that Aaron had asked her to go to the office without explaining the reason, Sandra knew that if the man wanted to investigate what she had done, she would not be able to hide.
She hesitated for a long time in the aisle until she saw Yolanda come out of the office, took out a business card from her pocket and glanced at it, then rolled it up and threw it into the trash bin.
Sandra, feeling a little curious, walked over to pick it up.
After seeing the contents of the business card, she widened her eyes slightly, then clenched the business card tightly in her palm.
She was not sure if she had found something. She paused, took a deep breath, and knocked on the door of the office.
"Mr. Jensen, it's me," As soon as Sandra entered the office, she sensed a different atmosphere as usual. It was a cold and oppressive atmosphere, which made her even more uneasy.
Aaron raised his head, stared at her for a long time, and then calmly asked, "What are you doing?"
He didn't ask about the photos, the man in the photo, or anything related to Yolanda. Instead, he questioned her purpose as soon as he spoke.
From the beginning to the end, he was on Yolanda's side.
Sandra closed her eyes, the only hope in her heart disappeared completely.
"I think she just failed you," she answered.
Wasn't the photo enough to explain, Yolanda was having her feet on two boats- while enjoying Aaron's favor, at the same time, she hugged another man affectionately in the street.
After Sandra said these words, Aaron didn't speak for a long time. He just looked at her and tapped the pen in his hand on the table. Every sound was neither light nor heavy, but made her panic, like walking on thin ice.
A few minutes later, Aaron chuckled twice. He stood up, walked up to Sandra, and lifted her chin abruptly. "When is it your turn to meddle in my affairs?"
Sadra felt a sharp pain in her chin, which quickly let her suffocate. She could not speak.
Aaron squeezed her lower neck with both hands and said coldly. "I warn you, it's better for you to do your part. Film your dramas, keep acting as a star, and don't think about other things that you shouldn't think about. You should be self-aware."
At the beginning of Sandra's ascension, someone told her how beautiful Sally Moore was in the past. But for some unknown reason, she offended Aaron and there was no possibility for her to turn over again.
She didn't take it seriously at the time. She even felt that though Aaron was a little colder and was not easy to approach, at that time in school, when he pointed to her, saying that he wanted that girl, there was still some gentleness from him.
But now, she clearly understood that everything was just a dream of her own.
His gentleness was only for that woman. He didn't even care about such a shitty photo.
Loosening his hands, Aaron ordered, "Get out."
Sandra coughed several times. The reluctant feeling of the shattered dream made her laugh, not knowing whether to laugh at her own stupidity or at Aaron's self-deception.
She took out the card that she just picked up and said, "Hopefully she won't let you down." After that, she left the office with a pale face.
Aaron looked at the crumpled business card that had been thrown on the table. It was a reservation card for the five-star Piran Hotel in the Capital, with a handwritten room number next to it- 2201.
Aaron frowned. He didn't react at first, but when he remembered Sandra's words, his heart sank quickly.
Was she implying to Yolanda?
Hotel, room...
Aaron seemed to understand something, but he didn't dare to think further. He sat back in his seat and hurriedly lit a cigarette, but he couldn't stop the thoughts and images in his brain. The emotions that had been restrained for several days were ignited and magnified.
Was Yolanda crazy? How long have they known each other? Oh, right. Although this woman was occasionally clever in trivial matters, she actually has no idea about choosing a man. Especially the kind of gentleman who wears glasses- she seemed to have no resistance to them.
Earlier back in Darlington, she casually got into the car of a strange man, then went out with a random man to the New Year's Eve countdown not long ago.
Now, he didn't know when did she meet a new man, dated him behind his back, hugged him, and now... to a hotel room?
She was really a naive young girl who was ignorant of the world. How stupid she was.
However, scolding her could not ease Aaron's restlessness. He could not bear the thought of Yolanda being possessed by another man.
Even as a brother, he could pretend to be stupid and tacitly approve of her falling in love. But he could not accept that she was sleeping with someone else so quickly.
Aaron knew that his thoughts were contradictory and absurd, but he could no longer pretend to be blind.
Not wanting to wait a minute, he quickly informed Lenny, and the group of people went straight to Piran Hotel.
The journey was full of mixed feelings- tormented and angry, yet exhausted.
He forcibly divided his own boundaries, defined his identity, and harshly forced himself to abide by them.
But reality and the ideal world were always fighting. It was as if his body has been occupied by two people- tearing, mending, and tearing again every day.
At legal speed, Lenny drove the car as fast as possible.
Fifteen minutes later, Aaron arrived at the Piran Hotel.
The elevator rose slowly, and finally, it stopped on the 22nd floor.
Aaron didn't hesitate to move forward. Let alone hesitation, there was only one picture in his mind. And the reason he came was to stop that scene from happening.
Standing in front of the door of Room 2201, he raised his hand and knocked on the door.
Soon the door opened. The first thing Aaron saw was a man, who was exactly the same man as the man in the photo.
Shifting down his gaze, the man was wearing a bathrobe, his hair was slightly wet, and he had obviously just finished taking a shower.
Some emotions spread violently in his chest in an instant, Aaron clenched his hands unconsciously. He didn't manifest his emotions.
He didn't want to speculate on what he saw, so he calmly asked, "Where is she?"
Marc didn't expect Aaron to find this place. As soon as he was thinking about how to respond to his question, Yolanda's voice came from the room. "Who is it, brother?"
Aaron went silent.
Yolanda came out with a piece of pizza in her mouth. After seeing Aaron standing at the door, she was dumbfounded. The pizza also fell to the ground.
"...Bro- brother?" Yolanda glanced at him with an 'I didn't expect it to be you' expression.
When the real brother and the fake brother meet face to face, what a deadly battlefield was this?
Yolanda panicked and walked forward, feeling overwhelmed. "Brother, it's not as what you thought. Listen to me."
But Aaron didn't give her a chance to speak. He grabbed her wrist and took her away forcefully.
Marc wanted to say something else, but Lenny and the people accompanying him stopped in front of him. The meaning of threatening and warning was obvious.
"...?" He didn't expect that the fake brother whom his sister got 'by chance' was more domineering than him, the real bother.
Marc smiled, didn't speak anymore, and closed the door.
On the way back, Yolanda rubbed her wrist, which was almost broken, and cautiously observed Aaron. The man's face was cold, and he didn't speak since he got in the car.
"Brother, I..."
"Shut up." Aaron didn't look at her at all. Although his tone sounded calm, Yolanda could tell that this was the prelude to a violent storm.
Yolanda didn't blame Aaron for being so angry. It was the same last time, she told him that she was going to have a beauty treatment, but ended up celebrating New Year's Eve with another 'man' in the hotel restaurant.
Again today, although she said that she was going to collect her gift, it turned out to be even more outrageous- she went directly into the hotel room with a man.
Yolanda didn't know how to explain herself. No, the event today was simply inexplicable. She could not say that she went to someone's room to collect her gift.
Lowering her head, Yolanda sighed to herself. Let's forget it, let's just be obedient to get scolded today, she thought.
Let's just consider this as the price of deceiving him over the past few months. Getting scolded by him before she left would let her feel not so guilty when she recalled things back in the future.
It was silent all the way.
Back home, Ms. Twelve was cleaning the second floor. "You're back?"
As soon as the word 'back' just fell, like a gust of wind, Aaron dragged Yolanda into the room, and the door was slammed shut.
Ms. Twelve's face was muddled by the wind. "...?" You two have been thrilling all day long, could you be kinder to me, this old lady?
Inside the room, as soon as Aaron entered, he pressed Yolanda behind the door, and his emotions that had been restrained all the way finally broke out.
"Is it fun?"
"..."
"Speak! I'm asking you if it was fun?"
"..." Yolanda, bring imprisoned by Aaron could not move.
It was not fun at all.
She could see that Aaron was very furious. After a pause, she still wanted to rely on the previous method to save herself by acting innocent.
Therefore, she carefully poked Aaron's chest. "Brother, why don't you... drink some water before scolding me first?"
Who knew that Aaron sneered and pressed her hand against the door directly.
"Brother?"
"Who are you calling brother?"
"Are you referring to him, or me?"
"Didn't you just call that man your 'brother'?"
"You like to call someone else your 'brother', don't you?"
There were no lights on in the room. Since he kept questioning her like this, Yolanda could not put in words at all and could only sigh."I'm not-"
But she was quickly interrupted.
"Since you called him that, then I'll give him this position." Aaron suddenly pulled off his tie, clasped the back of Yolanda's head, and kissed her.
"I don't want to fucking be your 'brother' anymore."
