Chapter 25

Chapter 25
Aaron drove the car to the intersection near the mall and received a message from Yolanda.
[Brother, I have something to do now. You don't need to pick me up. I will take a taxi back later.]
Aaron then slammed on the brakes. He stared at the screen for a while and felt a little bit annoyed.
Ever since he secretly hid the mobile phone, he had been surrounded by a sense of loss.
He always thought he would lose Yolanda soon.
Aaron did not know whether he could get the desirable result by keeping Yolanda selfishly.
Aaron was upset because Yolanda didn't need him to pick her up.
He wanted to ask her where she was going to, and who would be with her. But he refrained from asking these questions.
did she go, who she was with, but then forcefully kept himself silent.
He said it was all right as long as she was around.
He wanted to be with her, even if she just viewed him as a brother.
He would not let jealousy go to his head. Whenever he felt jealous and possessive, he had to stop himself from crossing the line.
It was his bottom line.
After smoking a cigarette, Aaron asked nothing and went back to the villa alone.
This reunion was unexpected to Yolanda.
She had never expected that after more than a decade of separation, Marc would suddenly appear in front of her, on the street of Capital.
Yolanda hadn't seen Marc for many years, but she could recognize him just at the first glance, probably because they were related by blood.
Maybe it was because they hadn't seen each other for so long time, there was nothing to say between the siblings in the cafe.
After all, after a long time of separation, estrangement was always inevitable.
Especially these days, Yolanda had gradually regarded Aaron as her brother, replacing Marc's position in her heart.
But now Yolanda was a little uncomfortable when her real brother appeared.
Sitting down politely, Yolanda asked, "How do you know I am here?"
A waiter brought two drinks, and Marc handed one of them to Yolanda. "Victor told me," he said with a faint voice.
"Victor? "Yolanda was stunned, "You know Victor Evans?"
Marc bowed his head and smiled, "Otherwise how can a bankrupt company, a place that has no value, could keep Victor, such a top student from a famous university?"
Yolanda could not understand it clearly and stared blankly at Marc.
"Although I'm abroad, I also keep a watchful eye on you at home. Father was so aggressive in his business, so I asked Victor to help him a few years ago, but I never thought he went bankrupt in the end."
Marc said a lot, and Yolanda finally realized that Victor's selfless efforts for nothing was Marc's careful arrangements over the years.
"Why didn't you come back if you really cared about me?"
Yolanda was blaming him to some extent.
When they were young, they were very close. But Marc never came back after they separated.
"Yolanda." Marc looked down and stirred the coffee. He said, "Mom got sick not long after she left the country. Our life wasn't good, so I shouldn't bother you."
"She's sick?"
"When I was 16, I started to work while going to school. You can't imagine my most difficult situation. Then I graduated and started my business. I have faced many difficulties in a remote country. But I want you to believe that I never forget you."
Yolanda softened her tone slightly: "Then why do you come back now?"
With his hands stopped, Marc looked up at Yolanda and said: "Because my sister is doing something really ridiculous, and I have to come back to stop her."
Yolanda was stunned, "What do you know?"
"I know what you have done and also know what you are doing."
"…"
Yolanda suddenly remembered that in Darlington, Victor had met Aaron, and heard her call him brother.
Since he was in Marc' side, he must be suspicious, and it was not hard to find out what she was doing.
"So," Yolanda asked: "What do you come back for?"
Marc answered directly, "Take you away."
"…"
"The entertainment circle is a mixed bag, and there are many things you can't even imagine. The person who can get to the top of this circle is not someone you can just play around with. Things are still under control. He doesn't know the truth yet. Just stop your plan right now."
Yolanda understood Marc's words, but she couldn't give up, "I haven't made James pay yet."
"Yolanda." Marc sighed, "Is a man like that worth your efforts? I now run a company on Wall Street, where there are so many great men. I can introduce a man to you every day until you are satisfied."
"You're wasting your time and youth on a trash."
She knew what Marc said was right, but she still could not let go the hatred.
Yolanda just couldn't bear it.
She asked after a pause, "Did you tell Dad?"
"No." Marc paused, "But if you don't listen to me, and keep doing such dangerous thing, I'll tell him."
Yolanda: "..."
Marc's appearance had dropped a heavy bomb on Yolanda's life, shaking her world and disturbing all her calm.
"I know it is sudden, but Yolanda, I am doing all this for you. It is not good for you to play with Aaron."
With her mind in a complete mess, Yolanda suddenly felt insecure and wanted to go back to Aaron quickly.
"Let me think."
"I'm going back, or he'll be suspicious."
Knowing that it was impossible to persuade Yolanda immediately, Marc didn't further force her. He took a business card out of his pocket and wrote down the room number on it: "I stay in this hotel, and let me know when you make a decision."
Yolanda stuffed his business card in her pocket and walked away, and heard his voice behind --
"Don't you want to tell me your number?"
"…"
Yolanda almost forgot.
She turned around and exchanged cell phone numbers with Marc. "Bye, bro... brother."
She didn't know why she was so uncomfortable to call him brother.
As they walked to the road outside the cafe, Marc asked, "Let me give you a ride?"
"No."
Yolanda was afraid that she would encounter the situation where Aaron become angry because she met Victor alone.
Yolanda, under the streetlamp, looked thinner. Marc always felt guilty and painful for the sister he hadn't seen for years.
He reached out for pinching Yolanda's face, but Yolanda suddenly stepped back.
His hands stopped in the air. Marc paused and smiled, "I am a stranger to you now."
Yolanda was a little embarrassed, "I'm sorry, maybe I haven't gained my senses, because you came back so suddenly."
Marc could feel her unfamiliarity with him. He was silent for a while and called her name: "Yolanda."
"Hmm?"
He took a piece of paper out of his pocket and handed it to Yolanda.
Yolanda took it over. The paper was old and yellow with a tender picture.
A little boy and a little girl holding hands in the sun.
Yolanda remembered it was the gift she gave Marc on his 12th birthday.
She was six then.
Soon after, they separated.
Marc said: "Every week, Victor told me what you did, where you went, what friends you made. I know almost everything about your upbringing."
"…"
"I really don't forget you."
This painting that witnessed the relationship between them suddenly made Yolanda want to cry. She knew that she had shouted her brother's name in countless dreams, hoping that he would come back, but every time after waking up, everything was empty. Although she missed her brother for so many years, but she had to admit that there was resentment.
Her emotions were easily betrayed by a painting.

Her eyes were red, and her voice choked: "I thought you all had forgotten me."
Marc came over and gently held her in his arms: "I don't. I really don't."
More than a decade later, the siblings hugged for a long goodbye.
They didn't know that at the same time, across the street, a person filmed all this.
On the way home, Yolanda kept thinking of Marc's words.
While things were not exposed and Aaron had not known that you were deceiving him, you should leave here.
Yolanda knew what would happen when things blow up. She already knew it when Sally Moore tried to take advantage of Aaron.
She, a daughter from a bankrupt family with no powerful background, tried to cheat on feelings with a big boss...
Yolanda didn't dare to think about the consequence.
"You shouldn't do this even for Dad." Marc's words reminded again in her mind.
Yolanda wavered.
Indeed, she didn't have to waste her 22-year-old beautiful life on such a scum as James. Since his popularity had fallen so much, he was finally punished.
So, should she leave?
Yolanda closed her eyes, and her heart was in a mess.
The phone rang.
Yolanda looked down and saw a new WhatsApp message.
She thought it was from Aaron, but when she clicked, it turned out to be James.
[Hello.]
Yolanda was in a bad mood and didn't want to talk to him.
But he sent another message later: [Are you Mr. Jensen's sister? We met earlier at the restaurant of Cielo Hotel, remember?]
Yolanda looked at the message several times, then suddenly understood James's point.
Due to decreased reputation, he had no choice but come up with bad ideas. He wanted to get along well with her, the big boss's sister, to reverse the situation.
Yolanda replied: [Who are you?]
James, who got the response, seemed to be excited. He first introduced himself and then talked about various topics with Yolanda.
Yolanda felt uncomfortable chatting with him, and then turned off her phone once she arrived at home.
Aaron returned early, but Yolanda did not go to him and went quietly to her room.
Lying on the bed, she thought over what Marc said.
When Yolanda came back, she would talk with Ms. Twelve or himself all the time. This anomaly caught Aaron's attention.
He knocked on her door, and the door opened, "Why are you hiding in the room alone?"
"Well, I guess I'm just tired from a walk," Marc said.
Aaron stopped asking. When he turned and was about to leave, Yolanda called on him," Brother."
Aaron turned back.
In fact, Yolanda had nothing to say, but for the moment, she just wanted to call him.
"Nothing. "Yolanda bowed her head, "I'm sorry for what happened in the office this afternoon. It's my fault."
The room was quiet for a moment. While Aaron was just about to say something, Yolanda's cell phone suddenly rang.
It was WhatsApp.
It rang once, and then several more, like a stream of messages.
Aaron's expression became a little subtle but quickly subdued: "Someone is looking for you."
Yolanda immediately ran back to mute the phone, "Well, Elsa is asking me something."
Aaron's eyes were so sharp that he caught the fleeting unnatural feeling in Yolanda's eyes.
He knew that Yolanda was a little afraid of him, and that it was because he may have been too harsh.
But for now, it was himself who chose to stay with her in whatever identity.
It was his choice to set her free and ask nothing.
So, Aaron nodded and left the room without a word.
Yolanda sighed with relief.
The messages were from James. Since he didn't get Yolanda's reply, he started teasing her again.
[What are you doing?]
[I saw you with two pigtails. You were so cute.]
[Don't you get along well with your brother?]
[You can talk to me if you are not happy. Do you want to hear the funny things about filming?]
Yolanda really wanted to get into the screen and beat the bitch, but she was also keenly aware that every message James sent could be evidence that ruined his reputation.
Yolanda replied: [You said you are James. I'm not sure. Send me some pictures.]
As expected, he sent a couple of private photos, even including a photo of his muscles naked.
Yolanda felt sick.
She suspected the muscles were fake. He didn't have that good body.
Yolanda got him to talk more and ended the conversation by saying that she was about to go downstairs and have dinner with her brother.
On the whole, James's words were normal so far, but Yolanda believed it wouldn't be long before his tail came out.
The next day, life seemed to go on as usual, but for Yolanda, every beautiful morning with bland expectation seemed to drift away from her fingers.
She was frequently distracted at work, and several times when Aaron asked her things, she couldn't answer them correctly. Her whole person was influenced by Marc's words, and her thoughts were never calm.
Aaron gently tossed the folder on to the table and asked, "What on earth are you thinking? You are absent-minded at all."
Yolanda rubbed her temples wearily: "Probably I didn't sleep well last night."
"Why didn't you sleep well?"
Yolanda tried for several times but couldn't speak out her worries.
How can she tell Aaron that her own brother was back, and he wanted to take her away?
After looking at her for a few seconds with his arms folded, he said: "Alright."
He turned over," If you're really not feeling well, go inside and sleep for a while."
Yolanda couldn't really read any documents today, especially near Aaron. Yolanda could see his face and hear his voice, but she still wanted to leave in the heart.
It was too hard.
Yolanda never thought that the original plan to run away became so hard.
She didn't know what had trapped her.
"All right, I'm going to take a nap."
There was a temporary bedroom in the office for Aaron to rest. Yolanda slowly got up and walked to the inside. Just a few steps forward, Aaron suddenly said:
"Sandra Masonis our company's entertainer and actor. That's all. Don't read the gossip."
Aaron did not know why he couldn't help but explain these to her.
But seeing her drowsy status, he felt sorry for whether he was cruel to refute her yesterday.
In particular, she always misunderstood that he liked Sandra.
Yolanda listened to his words, as if her mind was still wandering, "OK, I won't read it."
And then she turned around.
???
Do you understand what I'm saying?
I don't like that woman!
Aaron took a sip and calmed down, feeling he may have raised an idiot.
Soon after Yolanda entered the bedroom, Blair knocked on the door and entered," Mr. Jensen."
"Yes?"
"...I just got an email for you."
"?" Aaron raised his eyes, "What's that look? What's wrong with the mail?"
Aaron's work email account was managed by Blair. She would filter out useless information, organize it and forward it to Aaron's private account.
But now it was difficult for Blair to open her mouth, and after a long time, she said, "These are some photos. I just sent them to your mailbox."
Aaron could sense that the photos Blair said were not good. Secretly taking pictures was the most basic and lowest-level routine in the entertainment industry.
Before he opened it, Aaron thought that these were some dirty photos of a Azel Group's top star taken by his competitor, so Blair had to send them to his mailbox, but when he opened the mail and saw the photos--
The air became quiet suddenly, even frozen.
Aaron's eyes gradually darkened and gloomy.
Crack. Something was snapped.
