Chapter 17
Yolanda was shocked.
Really?
She didn't expect that this man would have a girlfriend in Darlington.
But she knew almost all the people in the upper class of Darlington, which meant, if this woman was a native of Darlington, she and Yolanda must know each other.
It was awkward.
If her brother brought his girlfriend back, the fake sister, Yolanda, would be exposed?
What should she do?
Victor's accident could be solved in three sentences before, but this mysterious Miss Watts could not be solved in a few words.
This was the woman Aaron liked.
The problem seemed to be a little complicated.
After dinner, Aaron went back to his room at about nine o'clock in the evening. It took a while for Yolanda to know from Lenny that Miss Watts wasn't Aaron's girlfriend, but Aaron had been looking for her for a long time and had a special feeling for her.
As for whether she could be his girlfriend or not, it depended on the development tomorrow.
It turned out to be the first time they met.
After closing the door, Yolanda came up with a solution.
She thought about all the ladies from Darlington whose Lastname was Watts in her heart. But for a moment, among the seven or eight people, she really couldn't guess who was the special one in Aaron's mind.
After a while, something occurred to her. She opened the door and observed the situation downstairs.
The door of Aaron's room was closed, and Lenny wasn't guarding it. Everyone seemed to have fallen asleep at night.
It was her chance to move again.
She opened WhatsApp and found Phoebe.
"I'm back. I'm in room 1903 of Dalee Hotel. Do you have time to meet me?"
Phoebe quickly replied, "Really? Don't lie to me. I'll be right there!"
That's great.
Yolanda typed quickly, "Send me a message when you arrive. You'd better wear a hat and mask. Don't let anyone find out."
Although Phoebe didn't know why Yolanda didn't stay at home after she came back, nor did she know why they met each other so mysteriously, twenty minutes later, she still appeared in the hotel as required.
Yolanda cautiously led Phoebe to her room.
She closed the door and locked it immediately, "Didn't anyone find you on your way here?"
Phoebe was confused, "so what? I'm here to see my friend, not to cheat on my boyfriend."
"If someone finds you here, the result may be more serious."
Different from the meeting with Elbert, it was exceptionally relaxing when they met.
After acting for almost a month in front of Aaron, Yolanda could finally take off her mask and behave herself in front of Phoebe.
"So, that's what happened." Yolanda heaved a sigh of relief, "Bankruptcy, cheating, car accident. Do you think I'm the chosen woman?"
Phoebe was dumbfounded. She didn't expect that so many things had happened to Yolanda these days.
After a long time, Phoebe sighed, "I really didn't expect that..."
"Well, I didn't expect James to be such a person before."
"No." Phoebe shook her head and said, "I didn't expect you to live with the big boss I worshiped. You know, I was still taking part in their company's actor selection plan in the daytime. Tonight, you tell me that the big boss has become your brother... Wait a minute, let me take it slow."
After about four or five seconds, she continued, "But I heard that Mr. Jensen was cold in private and had a bad temper when I was filming with the film crew. Is it true or not? Can you bear it if it is true?"
Yolanda didn't want to answer this question.
"Are you kidding me? Now that I'm cuckolded by James, aren't you angry?"
After a pause, Phoebe patted her thigh and opened Twitter, "Damn it! I'll help you expose him online!"
Her acting skill was too exaggerated.
"All right, all right," said Yolanda, stopping Phoebe. "It's useless for you to say that. There is no evidence. His fans will sue you for slander."
Phoebe thought for a while and agreed with Yolanda. In the entertainment industry, the more fans, the better.
She was not famous, but James was about to become a popular star.
"Then what should we do?"
"Don't worry. I have a full plan. I'll arrange him as soon as I get back to Capital," said Yolanda scornfully.
"Okay." Phoebe nodded and came up to her excitedly, "let's go back to Mr. Jensen."
"How do you get along with each other? How is your relationship?"
After thinking for a few seconds, Yolanda replied, "very bad."
Phoebe didn't believe it, "no way."
As soon as she finished speaking, Phoebe caught a glimpse of Yolanda's phone.
"Hey, someone is looking for you on WhatsApp."
Turning her head to look at it, Yolanda saw a new friend request.
Since she applied for the WhatsApp account, she had only added Phoebe. She thought it might be a trash account, so she didn't care about it.
When she looked at the request, it was "Aaron Jensen asked to add you as a friend".
It was from the address book.
Yolanda and Phoebe were both stunned.
Phoebe was the first one to react, "Aaron? Is that true? You two have been together for so long that you haven't even added your WhatsApp account?"
It was a long story.
Resting her chin on her hand, Yolanda wondered why Aaron suddenly wanted to add her in the middle of the night.
It was fine to exchange phone numbers. There was no need to go further, right?
Just as Yolanda was about to ignore the request and throw the phone aside, Phoebe pressed the "pass" button for her.
"What are you thinking about? Do you still have a position to refuse?"
It seemed so.
Forget it.
Soon, a line of words appeared on the screen, "You have added Aaron Jensen as your friend!"
However, after waiting for a few minutes, the conversation window did not move.
"Don't you say hello to him?" Phoebe asked.
Shaking her head, Yolanda said, "forget it. I've told you that our relationship is bad."
After a pause, she thought that there was nothing to hide from her bestie, so she sighed and said, "I've always been enduring humiliation."
"How miserable!" Phoebe laughed heartlessly and picked up the phone. "Then I'll endure humiliation tonight!"
Phoebe took the phone away and pressed the button. Nobody knew what she was typing.
"What are you doing? Don't talk nonsense. He's a smart man. Don't get me wrong."
"I won't do that." Phoebe handed the phone to Yolanda and said, "I'm just acting for you for a while. I'm helping you share your sadness."
Yolanda lowered her head.
Phoebe didn't say anything but just typed the word "Brother".
But the following expressions were too flattering.
There were several kissing emojis behind the word.
Forget it. She was almost the same as before.
But after a while, Aaron still did not react.
Phoebe frowned and asked, "why hasn't he replied to you yet?"
Embarrassed, Yolanda buried her face in the quilt and said, "I've told you that our relationship is bad. You don't believe me."
"Really?" Suddenly, the screen flashed, and Phoebe looked at it. She paused for two seconds and said, "I want it."
Startled, Yolanda opened her eyes and saw Phoebe holding the phone in front of her.
Aaron transferred money to her.
Yolanda counted the number carefully. Yes, it was 100 thousand!
Startled, Yolanda immediately sent, "What?"
However, there was no reply from the other end of the line. It seemed that he was specially transferred to her.
"What does he mean?" Phoebe asked.
"What?" Yolanda was confused.
"Are you bullying me don't have a Brother or a man? I came to the hotel just to wait for you to show off?"
When Yolanda was about to explain, her phone rang again.
It was a message.
Phoebe thought it was still Aaron, so she leaned over and read the message.
"Are you okay? Have you returned home safely?"
Then she asked, "who is this?"
While typing, Yolanda replied, "He's my father's secretary."
Phoebe remembered and said, "Oh, I met that handsome man when I went to see your father. What? He has a crush on you?"
Not knowing what to say, Yolanda replied, "I don't have a crush on him anyway."
"Of course. Although Victor is also good, he is still not as good as Mr. Jensen."
"What are you thinking about? How could Aaron and I be together?"
"Why is it impossible? You two are not real brother and sister. As time goes by..."
"He has fallen in love with a woman. And it's very likely that I know her." Yolanda added.
Phoebe was completely stunned. "What? I've never heard of it!"
After replying to Victor, Yolanda deleted the message and sat up solemnly.
"Phoebe, that's why I asked you to come here."
Yolanda was bold enough to hide Phoebe in her room. They didn't fall asleep until three o'clock when they discussed the plan.
However, in fact, Yolanda didn't sleep well. After all, she had a serious problem about whether she could continue to stay with Aaron after dawn.
In the morning, Yolanda had heard the conversation between Aaron and Lenny in the corridor. She guessed that they were going upstairs to have breakfast, but Aaron didn't come back until ten o'clock.
She couldn't help but go out and ask Lenny. It turned out that Aaron had already left the hotel.
"Didn't he make an appointment with Miss Watts at eleven o'clock?"
"He has something else."
Yolanda yawned and said that she would go back to her room to have a rest. As soon as she closed the door, she called Phoebe, "get up. Hurry up. Let's do our work!"
The two of them dressed up in a hurry. Phoebe put on light make-up with Yolanda's cosmetics. When she saw a small bottle of perfume on her table, she smelled it and said, "Hey, didn't you spray it on the night of the concert with me? Spray it on me. I like the smell very much."
"Whatever." Yolanda put a pair of sunglasses on her face and said, "I'm done. Hurry up."
Phoebe took out the perfume and sprayed it on herself several times before she stood up with satisfaction, "Let's go!"
Since Yolanda said that she would go back to her room to sleep, Lenny didn't stay there. Yolanda and Phoebe left the hotel smoothly.
The two took a taxi to the Mio Restaurant.
At first, Yolanda wanted to ask Phoebe to come to the restaurant to see who Miss Watts was, but later, the two of them discussed that Phoebe might not know the person that Yolanda knew, and it was not allowed to take photos in the restaurant. To ensure the accuracy of the information, Yolanda had to come by herself.
If Miss Watts was really someone she knew, Yolanda planned to run away at once,
When they arrived, it was half-past ten. It was still half an hour before eleven o'clock.
There were a few people in the restaurant. Wearing sunglasses, Yolanda looked around and didn't find anyone she knew.
And she didn't find any suspicious target.
For their safety, she didn't sit with Phoebe. Instead, they found two hidden seats by the window and sat face to face.
Like strangers, the two of them looked at the entrance of the restaurant and then looked out of the window.
At ten forty in the evening, a few customers came. Yolanda had seen them, but she didn't know any of them.
At ten forty-five, everything went well.
Out of boredom, Phoebe sent a message to Yolanda. It was a screenshot of her moments.
"Recently, Wendy Watts always holds the posture of the most famous lady in Darlington. She celebrates her birthday like a star. She really hopes that everyone in the city knows that she has replaced you."
Yolanda clicked on the screenshot. It was a speech in which Wendy showed off in her moments that she had invited a super band to celebrate her birthday tomorrow.
Yolanda snorted. When she was about to reply to Phoebe, she heard a voice.
"Hey, isn't this Phoebe Bernard? Long time no see."
Yolanda knew who the voice was.
She looked at Phoebe quickly and the two looked at each other in disbelief.
No way.
Was the mysterious Miss Watts Wendy?
She was the first one who had been eliminated by Yolanda!
Yolanda rubbed her forehead in disbelief.
"Hmm, what a coincidence," replied Phoebe perfunctorily.
Wendy didn't recognize Yolanda at all. She asked Phoebe with concern, "why did you quit The Famous? We kicked Yolanda, but we didn't kick you. How about coming back?"
"No, thanks," Phoebe said indifferently.
Wendy crossed her arms over her chest and looked at Phoebe, "In fact, I think you are much better than Yolanda. At least you know yourself well. You quit voluntarily. She used to be arrogant, but now she doesn't even dare to show her face when she goes bankrupt."
Phoebe pressed her lips and looked at Yolanda, who was sitting opposite her. Phoebe wanted to say something but stopped on second thought.
"Why don't you say anything? How about this? I can introduce resources to you if you play with me in the future," said Wendy with a smile. "You should know who Aaron Jensen is, don't you?"
Phoebe moved her body and looked at Yolanda.
With a glance, they both understood.
The mysterious Miss Watts was Wendy.
A thunderbolt from the blue wasn't enough to describe Yolanda's mood.
As she had expected, after confirming that Miss Watts was an acquaintance, she ran away.
But she didn't know why she was suddenly very angry now.
Was Aaron blind? Why did he like Wendy?
No way!
This woman mocked her first, and then her bestie. Now she wanted to take her brother away?
No way.
At that moment, Yolanda seemed to have become a ferocious beast. Her reason was pulled away by her impulse.
She stood up, walked around behind Wendy, and put her hand on the table. She smiled, "are you looking for me?"
Wendy was taken aback. She turned around and was stunned when she saw clearly who the woman was. Although she tried her best to hide her nervousness, Yolanda could see the fluster on her face.
In no hurry, Yolanda took off her sunglasses and said, "Why are you in such a hurry to ask me to show up? What? You don't know wear what clothes and what hairstyle?"
Although Wendy was also from a rich family, she had always been compared with Yolanda before the bankruptcy of the Walter family in Darlington.
And she would never be able to compete with Yolanda.
She had to imitate Yolanda in every aspect, including educational background, appearance, taste, and temperament.
Now that the Walter family had lost power and the upper class supported her.
Wendy finally became the most famous lady in Darlington. She had been walking on air these days. When she met Phoebe, she wanted to take the opportunity to ridicule Yolanda, but she didn't expect that Yolanda would be here.
Now that Yolanda was standing in front of her, the most important thing was that Yolanda was wearing the latest style of the current season, shining brightly. She didn't look like a loser as Wendy had imagined.
Wendy's confidence, which had just been flattered, was fading away in front of Yolanda, but she still tried her best to pretend to be calm. "When did you come back?"
Lowering her head, Yolanda whispered something to Phoebe. After Phoebe got up and left the restaurant, Yolanda glanced at Wendy and said with a smile, "I haven't been in Darlington for only a month. Are you imitating my clothes a month ago?"
Wendy wore a wine-red velvet dress and her long curly hair hung down her back, completely copying what Yolanda looked like on the night of the concert.
"The most beautiful lady in Darlington? I think you are best at imitating in Darlington." A mocking smile appeared on Yolanda's face.
Wendy was a little annoyed. "Don't be stubborn, Yolanda. Your family has gone bankrupt. Don't pretend to be indifferent."
"It's none of your business."
"Your face is red. Are you angry?" The corners of Yolanda's mouth twitched contemptuously. "Wendy, are you afraid of me? Otherwise, why are you so timid and incompetent when you are angry?"
"You."
The phone in the pocket finally vibrated.
Yolanda knew it was from Phoebe and she knew what the signal meant.
She continued to add fuel to the fire, "you're such a loser. You can't even be the second place to me. You're dreaming of being the first lady. Do you think you deserve it?"
As soon as she finished speaking, out of the corner of her eye, Yolanda saw Aaron's straight figure appear in the marble corridor outside the restaurant's window.
With her back to him, Wendy didn't know that at all.
Wendy was about to explode with anger. Finally, she couldn't help but give Yolanda a hard push in the fancy restaurant which was full of etiquette. "You're flattering yourself. Who wants to be the second one?"
Well done.
Yolanda thought, "I'm waiting for you to take action."
Although Yolanda was pushed a little hard, the corners of her mouth lifted imperceptibly.
Because Aaron stopped.
It meant that he had seen her.
Lowering her head, Yolanda quickly changed her face and pretended to be humble. "Well, I won't bother you anymore."
Then she walked out.
Wendy was stunned.
Yolanda trotted out of the restaurant. She kept her head down, but she deliberately walked toward Aaron, pretending to meet him by accident.
When she raised her head and saw him, a group of astonishment came immediately. She wanted to say something but stopped on second thought. She felt aggrieved and helpless.
Without saying a word, she lowered her head and ran away.
Looking at her back, Aaron had the urge to chase after her, but he still held it back.
He frowned and looked back at the restaurant.
Wendy sat in a booth by the window, fixing her make-up with a mirror.
He didn't know why Yolanda was here, nor did he know why the two of them had a conflict. After thinking for a moment, Aaron walked toward the restaurant.
There were not many people in the restaurant. As soon as Aaron entered, he smelled the familiar fragrance of roses.
When he approached Wendy, the fragrance seemed to gather more in the air.
The woman was wearing a silk dress of the same style as that night, with her long curly hair hanging over her back.
To be honest, she was beautiful.
But somehow, he felt that she was imitating someone.
She was unlike her.
Or, she wasn't her at all.
The longing and obsession that had been lingering in Aaron's heart disappeared when he stood in front of this woman.
Or without the light of that night, the real she was like this.
Aaron began to hesitate whether he should sit down or not.
But when Wendy raised her head and saw him, her eyes lit up. She stood up shyly and said, "Hello, Mr. Jensen. Please have a seat."
Wendy was very enthusiastic. The red lipstick made him inexplicably angry.
After hesitating for a while, he sat down and wanted to ask what he had seen just now,
"Miss Watts, just now..."
Before he could finish his words, his phone rang.
Aaron had an intuition that it was a message from Yolanda.
"Brother, I want to go out with you this afternoon, so I come to the restaurant to wait for you in advance. By the way, I want to see your girlfriend secretly. But I just entered the door and accidentally bumped into her. I have apologized, but she said that I stained her designees... I really don't know that she is your girlfriend. I didn't mean to do that. Please help me say sorry to her. I won't disturb your date."
Several crying emojis followed that.
When Yolanda knew that Wendy was the person Aaron wanted to meet, she decided to risk everything.
Either Wendy or she left.
Since Aaron had a special feeling for Wendy, Yolanda would help him nip it immediately.
Did he still be interested in Wendy now?
On the other side, after reading the news, Aaron raised his eyebrows two times imperceptibly.
Looking out of the window, Yolanda peeked at the place where he had just stood. When she saw him looking out, she immediately hid.
Aaron put away his phone and pursed his lips.
The waiter came over and asked, "are you two ordering now?"
"No, thanks."
Wendy was slightly stunned and opened her mouth, "Mr. Jensen, you?"
"Sorry, I have to go now." Aaron stood up and left his seat. After two steps, he suddenly turned around and greeted, "Miss Watts."
He paused, glanced at her from top to bottom, and said lightly, "there is no difference whether your clothes are dirty or not."
It was so boring.
Wendy had planned to have dinner with this man, take photos, and post them on moments, but now he left without ordering anything?
With a confused look on her face, she followed back of Aaron and saw Yolanda?
How could he hold Yolanda's hand?
Outside the window, Aaron pulled out Yolanda from behind the billboard and asked, "are you still hiding?"
Wriggling her fingers uneasily, Yolanda asked cautiously, "Brother, aren't you dating Miss Watts?"
Instead of answering this question, Aaron glanced at her and said, "don't you know how to fight back when others push you?"
After a short pause, Yolanda stammered, "I... I don't know how to fight."
Yolanda thought, "I'm a poor girl who needs my brother's protection."
Aaron felt the emotion she conveyed.
A few seconds later, he pulled his tie while walking.
"What are you doing here?"
"Am I free? I don't have so much time to play with you."
"Are you going to Sela Bridge again?"
"I won't go."
"You're annoying."
"One hour at most."
Yolanda trotted after Aaron. When she was about to leave the restaurant, she turned her head and raised her eyebrows at Wendy, who was still standing by the window in shock.
If Wendy had been smarter and more rational, Yolanda would have been the one who left.
Wendy wasn't a smart woman.
After they got back in the car and sat down, Yolanda secretly sent a message to Phoebe. At this moment, Blair's phone rang in the passenger seat. She picked it up and turned around and asked Aaron,
"Mr. Jensen, it's Miss Watts. She has something to tell you."
Yolanda didn't expect that Wendy would be able to fight back. Stunned, she stared at Aaron nervously, her heart beating fast.
Did he want to answer it?
It would be over if he answered it.
She wanted to jump out of the car and run away.
At this critical moment, Yolanda pretended to be hit by something and let out a light scream. Then she pulled up her sleeves and looked at her elbow, muttering, "Why is it blue here?"
She was pushed by Wendy just now and kept balance with her elbow on the table.
Aaron glanced at her calmly, paused for two seconds, and said to Blair.
"You don't have to answer Miss Watts's phone in the future."
Lowering her head, a faint smile played at the corners of Yolanda's mouth. When she was about to put down her sleeve, the exposed part of her fair-skinned arm was grabbed by the man beside her.
She was stunned and looked up.
The man's eyes were dark. After looking at her for a long time, he said in a low voice, "Do you think I don't know your tricks?"
