Even though she was away for two years, was that enough reason he decided to marry someone else and have a child with the person? Lyne felt betrayed and heartbroken. Aurora who was probably bored of the two women’s conversation stood up from where she sat and left the room.
“If you ask me Lyne, I never thought Zeidan for once moved on and forgot about you. You don’t know how he searched for you endlessly for months without any positive result anywhere. A lot has happened since you left, Lyne. Your absence was what gave Luana the opportunity to have a kid for the king. I think he was pressured into having that kid with Luana.
“Think about it Lyne, he fell sick after you left. After the royal doctor had tried everything he could to cure him of his illness to no avail, he needed an heir badly to succeed him if it came to the worse and everyone thought you were dead along with your unborn child. Your father also took the wolf army away thereby leaving the city’s defense more vulnerable. Zeidan had to go through all of this alone Lyne. If anything, you owe him much to stay with him now that you are here. Forget about Luana, one way or the other, you both will get along. When the time comes for an heir to the throne, it will be sorted.”
Lyne exhaled deeply after Chloe said this, perhaps Chloe was right somehow, but still, the thought of staying in the palace with Luana present was not sitting well with her. All what Chloe had said had really gotten to her heart. She felt really sorry for Zeidan and all that he had been through and was still even going through presently. She glanced at Chloe whose gaze was fixed upon her.
“I just wish things were different, Chloe. I never meant to leave at first, I didn’t even mean to leave the way I did, and I just had to. I had my reasons.” She said almost crying.
“Whatever the reasons are Lyne, you are here now. Things will only get better with you around.” Chloe said and paused momentarily. Lyne noticed the change in her countenance as she lowered her head after she had finished talking.
“What is the matter Chloe?” Lyne asked.
“Nothing you have to worry about. I just have some unfinished business tomorrow night. I need to do some crucial things. It’s so sad I won’t get to spend enough time with you before I depart. Hopefully we get to see again though.” She said now raising her head. The two ladies sat there staring at the space in front of them. Chloe was right. Zeidan truly deserved better than all he was getting. Truly if she had not left in the first place, things would not have been this way. She made up her mind that she will stay but decided not to say anything concerning that just yet. Then Chloe broke the silence again.
“I think I should get going Lyne.” She said as she rose from the bed where she was seated and headed for the door. As she was about stepping out of the room, she looked back at her and said,

“I just want you to know I am going to miss you and that I am glad you came back.” She smiled, stepped out of the room and then shut the door behind her looking vengeful as she did so. She wondered why Chloe had said that anyway. Perhaps she had missed her presence around the palace so much and was overly excited she was back and wanted to spend every minute with her or maybe Chloe thought she might later decide to leave which she truly might still do. It does not matter anyway. They will always see each other often now that she has decided to stay.
Just then the door opened and Zeidan walked in. She stood up immediately and turned to back him folding her hands in the process. They were both silent for a moment before Zeidan finally spoke.
“I know you are angry Lyne and you have every right to be. When I heard you had died, I told myself not to believe it. I searched for you with all my power and all the resources at my disposal.” Lyne felt him drawing closer to her. He placed his hand on her left shoulder and turned her around to face him. She looked at him and saw the sincerity in his brown eyes. She then sat down and gestured for him to do the same beside her. He took her by the hand and continued.
“The war also kept getting worse, yet I never stopped searching. After I had searched for four months without seeing you anywhere, I then started believing you might be dead truly. But even at that I should find your body to do a proper burial. After the wolf army was taken away, this city was almost defenseless. The were-cats never stopped attacking this city. I had to also produce an heir to the throne. Lyne I never stopped loving you. It was really hard for me Lyne, I was almost helpless and all what I did, I did not do from my own free will. I just had to do them.” Zeidan said still holding on to her hand.
“When you walked in through the palace door, I could not believe my eyes at first. But then a great deal of joy occupied my heart afterwards, seeing the love of my life who I thought was dead walking towards me with my child alongside her.” He smiled as he said the last sentence. Zeidan drew close to Lyne with their faces just few centimeters apart.
“Please don’t leave me again Lyne.” Zeidan said almost whispering. He was very sorry for everything, she knew he was, even though it was now very clear that it was not really his fault and there was no how he could have done things differently. The gap between their faces started reducing and she could feel his breathe on her face and the skin on her face tingled. There was something about Zeidan’s masculinity that always appealed to her. She shut her eyes as she felt his moist lips landing on hers in a very passionate way. She had missed this man greatly and she savored the taste of his lips while she drowned in ecstasy. She felt his hands moving in a sensational manner around her waist to the expanse of her leathered buttocks. His mouth left hers and drifted to her cheeks and then her neck. She grabbed hold of his cheeks and wished he would kiss his way down.
They heard the door opening slowly and Aurora walked in. Zeidan pulled away slowly and smiled at the little girl who was also smiling at him. He stood up swiftly and lifted Aurora off the ground into the air. Lyne could not help but wonder where Zeidan had gotten the strength to do what he just did. She wondered maybe he had truly fallen sick because she went missing.
