Seated on his chair in his office, facing the door, Shelbrooke knew he had little chance of winning the war against Vampire City. Not with the presence of Luana. But he believes with a clear-cut strategy, he could be victorious. That is why he had called this meeting to strategize on how to launch their attack on the City without being noticed.
He leaned forward, placing his hands on the table before him, and looked at Reyns who was seated beside Gorge on the sofa to his left.
"You promised to find a way to get rid of Luana, we can’t attack her in Vampire City, and it would be suicide." He said looking at Reyns.
"About that, I was able to convince her to leave the city. I can assure you she will not be there next week." Reyns replied convincingly.
"How did you manage to do that?" Gorge asked rather confused.
"You know Rob, one of Luana’s father’s army, his trusted messenger; I disguised as him and went to Vampire City."
Shelbrooke and Gorge listened with so much interest.
"I found Luana and I told her that her parents were sick and they needed her attention." He continued.
"Smart, very smart," Gorge said grimacing.
"Did she buy it?" Shelbrooke inquired further, looking rather unconvinced with the information he just heard and knowing Luana to be very brutal and tricky too.
"She did boss; she was dejected at the news and told me to tell her father she will be coming over the following week," Reyns said.
Shelbrooke stood up from his chair and the metal chair made a screeching sound as his legs pushed it back against the marble floor. Gorge and Reyns watched on as he paced slowly from his seat to the door and back.
"We need to be stealthy when we attack. Zeidan will always be prepared for an attack, never letting his guard down. But he is more vulnerable with the absence of Luana, which is if what you just told us is true, which I want to believe is true."
"I have an idea," Gorge said
"Zeidan always has his front gate heavily guarded. We can go in through the back with a lot of caution not to stir up any alarm."
"What then? Need I remind you he also has guards scattered all over the city and there will surely be guards there at the point of entry we intend to use. I don’t think we will be able to prevent the guards from alarming the rest that they are under attack." Shelbrooke said striding towards the entrance of his office again.
"Well, I think we can," Reyns said as he reached for the map in his pocket. He stood up and went towards the table with the map and a drawing pen from the many arranged in a small jar container on Shelbrooke’s table as Shelbrooke and Gorge came towards him with much interest now, he continued,
"They will not see us coming, and even if they did, they will expect us to come in through the city’s main entrance. They do not have any idea that we know about the entrance at the back as it is not on the map."
"When I went to meet Luana, I was able to survey the city a little and I could see where the guards are. I went to the palace first to see if Luana was there and I counted eight at the entrance where I was told she was not in."

Circling the location of the back gate to Vampire City, he said,
"There are ten guards here compared to the multiple guards at the main entrance. And this is the palace. It will be hard to notice us if we approach the palace from here." He said, circling another part of the map that leads to the location of the palace on the map.
“That is a very good plan. All we have to do is surround the palace and capture Lyne. And that is how we will force his surrender.” Shelbrooke added.
“Chloe could lead a group to distract them at the front so they will not notice anything going on at the back entrance of the city. Although I won’t let her join in, I can’t afford to let her be captured in case things go sideways.” Shelbrooke added.
Chloe approached Shelbrooke’s office to listen to his plan for his next attack on Vampire City. She opened the office door and found Shelbrooke and two of his favorite men Gorge and Reyns who seemed to be holding a pen all at his table looking at what appeared to be a map.
The three men left what they were doing and turned to look at her as she walked toward them.
“Chloe, it is so nice of you to join us,” Shelbrooke said with a smile on his face.
“Reyns was able to convince Luana to leave Vampire City thereby increasing our chance of victory massively. The plan is to go in through the back entrance to the city and surround the palace.” He told her as he pointed to the markings on the map that they had inscribed.
“You will lead an attack to the main gate to distract them from noticing anything going on while we capture the palace, although you won’t join in because I need you. We will take Lyne captive and force Zeidan's surrender.” Shelbrooke added.
Chloe now realizing Lyne was in harm’s way decided to tell the rest that Lyne was pregnant and shouldn’t be harmed.
“You can’t harm her.” She said to the surprise of the people in the office.
“And why is that?” Gorge and Reyns chorused.
“She’s pregnant,” Chloe announced.
As she said this, the men were thrown into confusion and they went to the seat where they were once seated.
Chloe knows that Lyne would be captured and tortured just to pass the pain on to Zeidan, she could even be killed in the end, but perhaps Shelbrooke might reconsider and just capture her to get Zeidan and release her later on because he wouldn’t want to harm an unborn child.
“We need to kill her and the baby,” Shelbrooke said to Chloe's shock, although she hid it from the rest.
“After you might have led some men to the entrance, you will retreat without them and head here to support Zeidan’s capture. Gorge will take charge of capturing Lyne and executing her and her baby. With the baby gone, I will have no future threat to my throne.”
Now she regretted saying what she just said. But she was grateful she did. If Shelbrooke had found this out by himself after the whole thing, she wouldn’t be able to stop him from killing Lyne.
She couldn’t let any harm come to her niece and her unborn child, although the rest did not know that Lyne was related to her. She concluded within herself and determined to save her niece before any harm would come upon her even if that involved killing Gorge.
