Chapter 91

Lyne began to pack her bags and started getting ready for her journey back to South Park where she could stay with her family and feel safe. She could not live with the thought of Luana being a better queen than her. She knew Zeidan will also be considering making her queen and with the way things are, with the way she got away with almost everything, even after Zeidan reassured her that there was nothing to be afraid of, she still did not feel safe.

She was not bothered about being Queen anymore. As far as she was concerned, Zeidan could go on to give Luana that title as she stood a better chance and would make a better queen than she will ever be. Luana deserves it more than she does as she was a better fighter. Now all that mattered to her was the survival of her unborn child.

She and Zeidan shared the same place for keeping clothes, making it hard for her to pack her clothes. It was made of a well-polished Oakwood. She packed out all the clothes on her side of the cupboard and placed them on the bed. Grabbing the chair close to her study table to add to her height, she reached for the two travel bags placed on top of the cupboard. She dusted them and placed them on the floor beside the bed and slowly she began to fold all the clothes into them one by one. After filling up the first bag, she was brought out of her thoughts while arranging clothes in the second bag as her door creaked open and Zeidan walked in. He stood by the door with so much surprise on his face.

Zeidan saw a bag on the ground already packed up with either clothes or other things she might want to take along to wherever she might seem to be going.

“What are you doing Lyne?” He asked and moved to sit beside her on the bed where she was packing her clothes into the second bag.

“I am leaving your life Zeidan. I don’t want to be here anymore.” She said as Zeidan tried to prevent her from carrying on with the packing.

“You need to calm down. I am not asking you to leave.” He said collecting the piece of clothing she wanted to put in the bag from her.

“I can read between the lines Zeidan, and I am not daft. I don’t care anymore.”

“But you can’t leave. You know we are at war with Shelbrooke and you have a part to play as the queen of Vampire City.” Zeidan said.

“You have not made me queen, yet, and I know why that is the case. As far as I am concerned, you can make whoever you please the queen of Vampire City. Luana deserves it better than I do.” She said as she jerked her hand off his and placed the piece of clothing she was holding in her bag.

Zeidan held her hand to stop her again and looked desperately into her eyes.

“What will happen to your plan to stop Maya? And how about Tina, does that mean she died for nothing?”

Lyne recalled how Tina had died in her arms in Los Angeles and she could not save her. That poor girl, she was only a teenager and didn’t deserve to die. She had vouched to take revenge on Maya for killing her. But if she was hell-bent on leaving now, she will have to let go of all of that. And she couldn’t. She paused and stood up. She paced about the room. She wouldn’t let it all slide at all. And she also considered the fact that there was a war going on with Shelbrooke.

Zeidan watched her as she paced about the room in thought.

“Think about it Lyne, you can’t leave. You need to think this through.” He added.

Then, she exhaled sharply and turned to face Zeidan.

“I will stay but under one condition.” She said.

“And what will that be?” Zeidan asked as he stood up from the bed where he was seated and walked towards Lyne.

“I am not staying in the same room with you.” She replied with so much contempt.

Then Zeidan walked up to her where she now stood at the head of the bed close to the wall. He caressed her cheeks and gently places both of his hands on her neck. He grazed his thumb on the mark on her neck and leaned close to her, his gaze dark and attractive.

“You belong to me, Lyne. You have my mark to prove that.” Zeidan said now as his hand stroked her back from top to the beginning of the curve of her buttocks.

Slowly her anger was replaced with sexual desires.

“Stay with me Lyne, stay with me.” He said almost in a whisper.

Perhaps she was taking things too personally. She might even be making the wrong decision to leave without knowing. Zeidan knew her soft spot and he exploited it very well. Just then, she felt his mouth very close to hers. She could not think of what to do anymore. She had to stay at least.

Just then, the vision came again. This time she was in a maze and she was looking for her daughter that was calling to her.

“Mummy!” echoed her daughter from what seemed to be the center of the maze.

“I’m coming.” She yelled back and ran through the maze towards the sound of the voice of her daughter.

“Mummy, please help me!” Her daughter kept calling and she kept running through the maze.

“Please mum, they are going to kill me.”

“No, please no, I’m coming baby. Just hold on.” She said as she ran on.

She came to the middle of the maze and saw a masked man holding a sword.

“Please don’t do this.” She begged with tears in her eyes.

“Mummy, please help me.” Her daughter begged with her teary blue eyes.

Just then, the man drove his sword through her back and she watched as she dropped to the ground.

She ran to pick her up from the ground and stroked her soft, light brown hair.

Then she came to in Zeidan’s arms with him looking at her with confusion written on his face.

“Are you alright?” He asked.

She pushed him away and started packing the remaining clothes on the bed into the bag.

She needed to leave for the sake of her unborn child. That was not the first time she saw such a vision. It could only mean she was not safe here. Her baby must survive no matter what.

She finished packing and she carried the two bags outside the room much to the surprised expression written all over Zeidan’s face. He knew he could do nothing to stop her now. She picked other necessary things that belonged to her and then she left in a hurry, slamming the door on Zeidan who was still inside the room.
