Chapter 86

Luana had hidden behind a door when she saw Lyne walk out angrily. It wouldn't go down well if she is caught eavesdropping on them and luckily for her, things are going well. Much in her favor.

As she trodded forward, she let her go far before following, wondering where she is going now. However, she tried her best to make sure Lyne wasn't aware that she was being followed As she mounted her white horse, she took out her Klef, her black horse, passing down the mountain steps but having her eyes on her.

Getting to the destination, she could see the white horse from afar and she knew she had come to the temple. To relive old memories? Not likely. Why would she come to the temple to relive memories simply because she was having a misunderstanding with Zeidan? There is more to this girl other than playing in the temple.

She tied her horse to a tree quite far from the temple so it won't be visible. She made sure it was deep in the forest away from the road. That way, they would pass without seeing the horse. After that, she walked clandestinely toward the building.

Careful enough not to let the bricks she stepped on making noise, she found her way around the building, climbing a weak-looking staircase that looked like one force from an axe was all it would take to bring it down. She climbed it, regardless. Soon, she was in an enclosed, dark place where she could see inside the temple where the altar is herself.

However, she could see something else. Lyne picked something from the coffin. It looked like a necklace.

"Why the hell is a Kryst found in a coffin?"

Then, she could see Lyne pulling away as if running for her life. It was someone dressed in a black cloak, leaving only her eyes. They kept fighting until another sword joined. She felt a pang of disappointment that when someone finally decided to help with her wish, another person came butting in.

"Well, who else is it gonna be?" She already knew the only stumbling block to all of her dreams.

"Chloe? You're here again?" Lyne called at the woman dressed up in her war gears, a pack of arrows strapped to her back in a case. Her bow hung loosely over her and she was holding a long sword that she used to block Maya's.

"I'm sorry but this one is untouchable!" Chloe spat and she wondered if they knew each other. Their eyes sent unknown messages but with the rage in Maya's, she doubted it.

"She killed my son!" Maya roared.

"What?" For the thousandth time, she was getting confused. "I don't even know your son!"

"Oh, right! Denying now? Or do you have memory loss?"

She looked up at Chloe whose face was crumpled as if confused.

"What do you mean?" Chloe asked Maya who used her sword to push her away. With fierceness, Chloe stood up again, face now transforming, and gave her a turning kick on the face, exposing her face.

It was the most horrible thing she had ever seen. From her nose bridge down to her chin and all around the jawlines had been replaced with naked muscles dotted with blood clots and accompanied with an upsetting rottening odour. Instead of teeth, or even lips to hold the teeth, there were just sealed lips that looked like they have been sewn with threads. Behind the face, the cover was a monster. Her purple eyes were now glowing.

"She..." She began to say as she managed to rise, one knee still on the floor which indicated how much she had been weakened by Chloe's kick. "It was a dark evening. When I opened my eyes and realized I was in a coffin. I went out and that was when everything that had happened came back rushing to me. How mother earth had warned me that the day I get out is the day my son will die. I shouldn't have." She sniffled and Lyne could only stand there to watch.

"I should have gone right back into the coffin and maybe I wouldn't have had to witness someone eat up my son."

"Who ate up my husband?"

Lyne shot her a look, realization dawning on her.

"Her son is your husband?" She asked Chloe who in turn nodded. She felt lightheaded instantly, looking for something to hold on to for support.

"What happened next?" She whispered to Maya who gazed at her.

"I got out of the room, hoping to find my son. I don't know how I got there or why I was in that room but one thing is for sure. Someone waking up or appealing to mother earth for me to come back to life must have caused all the havoc. I was pissed and I hoped nothing had happened to my son. By the time I would reach here," she pointed to the altar.

"I saw you." She pointed back at Lyne.

"That should be...that is..." Chloe muttered and covered her mouth with her hand.

Lyne was totally lost and she kept looking between the two women before finally screaming.

"Can someone tell me what the hell is going on?!"

"Lyne." Chloe simply muttered softly and embraced her.

"She was supposed to be dead." Maya broke the atmosphere and Chloe released her.

"I threw a spear right into her heart because her husband," Maya was rising now with darkness clouding those purple eyes that glowed, and her rotten face was creaking as if the more she got angrier, the creepier her face becomes.

"Her husband,"

"Is Alpha Styx." They both chorused.

Lyne looked back at Chloe. "You're my Aunt?" Her voice was shaky and it all came back to her now. The care and all had been because her mom was Chloe's sister.
